MESSAGE FROM THE CEO OF TANGLIN TRUST SCHOOL, CRAIG CONSIDINE At Tanglin, we believe an exceptional education is about more than what happens in the classroom. It is about giving every student the opportunity to discover their strengths, challenge themselves and experience what is possible. The Tanglin Trust School Foundation plays an important role in making these exceptional and extraordinary opportunities part of the Tanglin experience.

Our culture of giving continues to grow. We are seeing increasing support from our community, alongside a growing number of donors choosing to make transformational gifts that enable ambitious ideas to become reality. This generosity is creating greater impact across the school, opening doors to experiences that inspire curiosity, develop confidence and equip our students for an ever-changing world.

As we move beyond our Centenary, the Foundation enters an exciting new chapter of building a culture of giving through the Three Cs: Connection, Contribution and Community. The legacy of our first 100 years gives us a strong platform from which to build upon. Now more than ever, we are focused on supporting a future-ready generation: students who are creative, courageous, adaptable and equipped to make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.

MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF FOUNDATION, TRACEY GROBBELAAR Philanthropy has always been about far more than fundraising: it is about creating opportunities that would otherwise not exist, strengthening our community and ensuring that future generations benefit from the generosity of those before them.

Reflecting on my first year as Director of Business Development and Head of Foundation, I am inspired by our community’s extraordinary commitment. In conversations with parents, alumni, staff and friends of Tanglin, one theme has consistently emerged: a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference. That spirit of generosity is one of Tanglin’s greatest strengths and provides a powerful foundation for our future.

This year has been about listening, building relationships, and aligning philanthropy with the strategic vision of our Master Plan and Beyond Boundaries 2025-2030. I also extend my sincere gratitude to my predecessor, Abhra Bhattacharjee, for building such a strong foundation for our work and wish him every success in the future.

Throughout the year, we have had the privilege of partnering with donors whose generosity is already creating meaningful impact. Support for scholarships, student wellbeing, academic excellence, sustainability and The Institute. Each gift represents an investment in our students and confidence in the School’s mission to provide an exceptional education.

None of this would be possible without the leadership and commitment of our Governors, Foundation Committee members and the many volunteers who generously contribute their time, expertise and guidance. Their stewardship and unwavering belief in the importance of philanthropy continue to strengthen the Foundation and support the School’s long-term aspirations.

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF LEARNING, JOHN RIDLEY The legacy of Tanglin Trust School Foundation is one of opportunity, generosity and a belief in what is possible when a community comes together. Over the years, the Foundation has helped bring exceptional experiences to life, opening doors for our students to learn, create, question, perform and discover beyond the classroom.

As Director of Learning, I have seen the impact of these opportunities first-hand. Whether through the arts, sport, innovation or engagement with global issues, Foundationsupported programmes enrich learning in ways that stay with students long after an experience has ended.

They inspire curiosity, build confidence and help young people see new possibilities for themselves and the world around them.

None of this would be possible without the commitment of our staff. Behind every visit, performance, competition, workshop and new initiative are colleagues who give their time, energy and expertise to make meaningful experiences happen. Their dedication ensures that philanthropic support is translated into purposeful opportunities for our students.

Premier League Coaching Comes to Tanglin

Inspiring the Next Generation of Ocean Guardians

An unforgettable week of football, learning and inspiration as Crystal Palace F.C. visited Tanglin students across Infant, Junior and Senior Schools building their skills, confidence and love of the game. Alongside the coaching sessions, workshops gave parents a unique insight into football development pathways, leaving a lasting impact both on and off the pitch.

Students from Years 1 to 12 explored the importance of ocean conservation through inspiring workshops led by Marine Scientist and Educator, Dr Joanna Henley. The programme nurtured curiosity, creativity and environmental leadership while launching Tanglin’s Ocean Ambassadors initiative for Year 12 students.

Innovation in the Fast Lane at STEM Racing

Project leader: Peter O’Brien, Deputy Head (Pastoral) • Junior School

Project leader: Will Fiebig, Design & Technology Specialist • Senior Design and Technology

Creativity came to life as acclaimed Aardman animator Jim Parkyn inspired students with the magic of stopmotion animation. From sculpting Shaun the Sheep to creating original clay characters, students discovered how imagination can become reality, one frame at a time.

“Participating in the STEM Racing National Finals this year has been a wonderful experience for our entire team. Although the competition is primarily centred around STEM fields such as engineering, coding, design, and scientific thinking, we quickly realised that the learning extended far beyond those subjects.

The process challenged us in ways we did not expect, pushing us to grow not only as students but also as a team.”

As a student-led event, TEDx Tanglin gave young people the opportunity to lead, speak with confidence and inspire others through the power of ideas. Big ideas took centre stage as students, educators and guest speakers shared thought-provoking perspectives on ASEAN geopolitics, technology and global affairs.

Award-winning Australian author Tristan Bancks, known for the hilarious Tom Weekly books and crime mystery novels, held writing workshops with students as part of Tanglin’s World Book Week celebrations.

Opening Doors To E-Sports!

Tanglin Alumnus Ollie Ogden (Class of 2019), Recipient of the Career Development Grant

Project leader: David Fourie, AHOF Maths and Computer Science Faculty • Senior ICT

As part of his PhD at the University of Oxford, Ollie is developing BRISK (Baseline-aware rank-compressed interferometric sky-imaging toolkit), an innovative imaging pipeline for radio astronomy. Support from the Foundation has enabled him to explore exciting new areas of research, leading to novel findings that could contribute to the development of the next generation of astronomical imaging technology.

The inaugural Ready-Up Rumble Esports Competition carved its name into history as the world’s first multigames esports gathering designed for schools. 51 talented students from six international schools came together, with every game calling for teamwork, fast thinking, managing pressure, and clever strategy, skills that matter just as much in the classroom, on the field, and later in life.

“I had the chance to showcase all of my gaming skills and not only was it fun, but it was also a good learning experience as E-Sports is a lot about mind games and self-belief.”

Rhythm, Laughter and Learning with Cool4School

Marcel Pusey, British composer, educator, and allround amazing musician brought rhythm, energy and pure musical joy to students through the Cool4School workshops. This inspiring visit with a unique blend of music education and appreciation is one to remember!

Our young students met the author of Anni Dreams of Biryani - Namita Moolani Mehra, whose writing workshop inspired them to turn imagination, family, culture and everyday experiences into stories. Set in Singapore, this book resonated with young minds especially as they recognised familiar places, foods and moments from their own lives.

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE CENTENNIAL ARTS TRAIL This year marked the addition of 2 new incredible art installations to a total of 6 creations in the Centennial Arts Trail.

About the Centennial Arts Trail The Centennial Arts Trail is supported by the Tanglin Trust School Foundation and features distinctive and commissioned works of art, to commemorate Tanglin’s centenary, history, and connection to Singapore.

Connections, which explores themes of ancestry, identity and belonging - installed in the Nixon Building, Dining Hall

Symphony of Growth, a kinetic sound sculpture that reflects the relationship between people and the natural world - installed at the Sixth Form Centre, Piazza

It reflects Tanglin’s belief that the arts are central to education and essential in developing thoughtful, imaginative and globally minded young people.

Through the trail, students are able to: • Experience world-class contemporary art within their daily environment; • Engage directly with practising artists and creative processes;

REFLECTIONS FROM GRADUATING MUSIC SCHOLARS SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION …The Music Scholars community is where I understood that music was never about the course papers of my diplomas, but the laughter I shared with my friends backstage before a big recital. And I could have asked for nothing more than this for my final year at Tanglin.

… Overall, the Scholars Programme has been hugely rewarding and has given me many opportunities to contribute to Tanglin. My advice to other Tanglin musicians would be to get involved as much as possible and make the most of every opportunity available: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it!

…I have loved spending my final year at Tanglin as a part of the Scholars Programme, especially given the countless opportunities offered by the Music Department which have complemented classroom academics. From performing Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No.6 at Chijmes to Blake’s The Snowman in the Infant School, being a Music Scholar has given me the opportunity to both give back to the Tanglin community and develop as a musician through a range of chamber, orchestra, and solo recitals.
