Senior Sport End of Year Sports Celebration

It has been another outstanding year for Tanglin Sport, filled with memorable events and exceptional achievements.

This annual event brought together nearly 500 parents and students to celebrate the successes of our senior teams. Students had the opportunity to reflect on and relive key moments through a series of media highlights, before Heads of Sport and Lead Coaches presented the Performer of the Year awards.

Following a fitting tribute to our graduating Year 13 students, we were proud to recognise our Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year: Edoardo P (Year 13) and Nathalie R (Year 12), honoured for their excellence in tennis and swimming respectively.

Harrow International 7s: A Weekend of Progress, Pride and Podium Finishes

Last week, over 80 players and staff travelled to the Harrow International 7s, enjoying a fantastic weekend of football against some of the strongest international schools in the region.

Our U11 boys and girls made an excellent start, both progressing into the Cup competitions with confident and energetic performances. The U11 boys eventually finished 4th after a narrow defeat in the playoff, while the U11 girls were one of the standout teams of the tournament, playing free-flowing football to reach the final and finishing an impressive second after a closely contested match.

The U15 boys showcased a tenacious, attacking style to reach the Cup stages, before injuries and fatigue saw them narrowly miss out on a podium finish. The U15 girls were equally impressive, demonstrating resilience and consistency throughout, going unbeaten on day two and finishing runners-up in the Plate after a penalty shootout.

Our U19 girls responded superbly to an early setback, showing great character to win the Plate competition convincingly. The U19 boys delivered composed and disciplined performances in a tightly contested field, coming within a single kick of the final before securing a well-earned podium finish.

Beyond the results, the tour was a strong reflection of the culture within the programme. Players demonstrated excellent standards, professionalism and sportsmanship throughout, while older students led by example and supported the younger age groups. A particularly special moment saw the U19 boys form a guard of honour for the U11 girls, highlighting the unity across the teams.

A huge thank you to all staff for their dedication and support in making the trip such a success. A special mention also to our Year 13 students, who represented the school with pride and distinction throughout.

Singapore National Age Group Swimming (Senior)

Our swimmers delivered an outstanding performance at the Singapore National Age Group Championships, continuing their strong progression across the season. With growing confidence and improved preparation, many stepped up to qualify for finals and compete strongly against top opposition.

Nathalie led the team with gold in the 100m and 200m Freestyle (both new school records), alongside silver in the 50m Freestyle and bronze in the 100m Butterfly. Eloise impressed with gold in the 50m Breaststroke (31.81, school record and fastest overall time of the meet) and silver in the 100m Breaststroke.

Strong finals performances came from Natasha (top 8 in all breaststroke events), Chloe (4th, 50m Butterfly) and Naya (5th, 200m Backstroke). Forrest secured bronze in the 50m Backstroke, while Josh broke four school records and contributed to a record-breaking 4x100m Freestyle Relay with Edward, Michael and Harvey.
