2D Cinema admission prices are £5.80 (Adults) and £4.50 (Children aged 14 and under). 3D cinema prices are £7.90 (Adults) and £5.80 (Children aged 14 and under) which includes the use of returnable 3D glasses. Concessionary prices for live events (in brackets where applicable) are available if you are a child, full-time student, senior citizen, disabled or registered unemployed. Membership of Theatr Mwldan is open to individuals of eighteen years of age and over and to organisations that support the objectives of the company. Membership costs £2 per year.

You can buy your tickets for any live or cinema performance in advance on-line at mwldan.co.uk, by phone (Visa, Delta, Mastercard, Solo and Switch), in person or by post (cheques made to Theatr Mwldan and an SAE). An answer-phone service is available out of office hours. As you may be aware, the Arts Council of Wales is conducting the biggest funding review of the arts in Wales for many years. The outcome of the Investment Review – which will result in serious funding cuts for some arts organisations - will be known by the time you receive this new Mwldan programme. This Review and the current financial climate will inevitably have a substantial impact on the arts. Mwldan strives to be at the forefront of innovation and excellence in the arts. One of the few organisations to receive an Arts Council Beacon Award in 2008, we aim to provide our customers and community with a top quality programme of yearround entertainment combined with the highest standards of customer care. We want to ensure that Mwldan, Cardigan’s own arts centre, continues to work at the cutting edge of arts excellence in Wales. We hope to emerge from the Arts Council’s Review as part of their new portfolio of core-funded organisations. And now, more than ever, we need the support of you, our customers, as we grow into the future. Help us on our journey! OPEN AIR THEATRE OUTDOOR PERFORMANCES AT THE WELSH WILDLIFE CENTRE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION PERFFORMIADAU AWYR AGORED YNG NGHANOLFAN NATUR CYMRU GWYBODAETH ANGENRHEIDIOL Theatr Mwldan presents its traditional summer outdoor performances at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran in partnership with The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. The performances are presented on a site with panoramic views of the Teifi Marshes, adjacent to the Wildlife Centre building which offers meals and refreshments in The Glasshouse Café, plus gift shop and toilets. A limited amount of seating for these performances is available - please bring your own low-backed seating or rug and warm clothes. The Glasshouse Café is open for meals prior to the show (bookings on 01239 621600), or bring a picnic to enjoy! The Wildlife Centre will be open two and a half hours before each performance; the performance site opens for picnics one hour before. Performances continue in all but the very worst weather. Every town has its Shakers, the trendy cocktail bar where everyone wants to be seen: from the checkout girls to the chinless wonders, from the yuppies to the local lads tittering at the thought of a ‘Screwdriver’. Rodney Bewes, one of the original Likely Lads, has transformed Jerome K Jerome’s well-loved comic novel Three Men In A Boat into a charming and hilarious show. Set in 1912, Jerome recalls his japes, scrapes and narrow escapes with George and Harris on an eccentric but entertaining adventure on the Thames. Rodney, who plays all three characters, is accompanied by his very own Edwardian skiff and a dog on wheels called Montmorency. As the UK’s largest youth drama festival, SSF gives young people the chance to experience the genius of Shakespeare through performance. The Shakespeare Schools Festival works in partnership with the National Theatre and the National Youth Theatre of Wales who provide workshops to enable teachers and young people to produce accessible Shakespeare at its most innovative and entertaining. MUSSORGSKY’S BORIS GODUNOV René Pape takes on one of the greatest bass roles in a production by renowned theatre and opera director Peter Stein, in his Met debut. Valery Gergiev conducts Mussorgsky’s epic spectacle that captures the suffering and ambition of a nation. “Boris Godunov is a masterpiece,” Stein says. “The challenge is to transmit the enormous emotional depth of the whole thing. Boris is the czar, but he is expressing a problem we all have: the consequences of human actions.” Aleksandrs Antonenko, Vladimir Ognovenko, and Ekaterina Semenchuk lead the huge cast. Boccherini: Sonata in A Delius: Romance Beethoven: Sonata in D major, Op 102 No 2 Ligeti: Sonata Franck: Sonata in A Tim Lowe made his concerto debut aged eleven playing the Saint-Saëns concerto at York Minster and later became principal cello of the National Youth Orchestra. Graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a first class Honours degree two years ago, Tim’s performances have inspired a number of composers to write new pieces, most recently James Week’s Partita for solo cello. His piano partner, Stephen Gutman, has broadcast as a soloist in many countries earning a reputation as one of Britain’s most creative performers. He has performed in major venues in London and New York’s Carnegie Hall. His vast knowledge of the chamber music repertoire has led to collaborations with many artists. Inspired by his father’s personal accounts of being a resistance fighter, and his mother’s letters to family members who left, Suleiman uses intimate memories to portray the daily frustrations and absurdities of life for those Palestinians who remain, living as a minority in their own homeland. This is humanist cinema at its finest: the absence of sentimentality, the gentleness of the cynicism and the curbing of rancour are remarkable.
