Tampa Prep seeks an organized, energetic, teamwork-oriented individual to join our College Counseling Office team. The College Counseling Office Coordinator reports to the Director of College Counseling and acts as a primary organizer for multiple functions of the College Counseling Office and Tampa Preparatory School.

qualifications & skills

• Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.

• Experience working in an academic environment: preferably a college counseling or admission office.

• Ability to handle student data and college admission information in a discrete and confidential manner.

• Strong active listening skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are a must.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently and also to be a team player.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with technology and software including Microsoft Office, Email, Google Calendar, and Google Drive.

• Ability to quickly master online application and student management systems, online tools that we utilize such as Scoir.

• Experience with any school SIS system, ideally BlackBaud.

• Superior time management skills and the ability to meet stringent deadlines in a busy school environment is key.

major responsibilities

Supervise and/or perform the following tasks:

• Maintain all data relative to the college counseling office including entering data into Florida Bright Futures for seniors.

• Maintain student data in SCOIR, and NCAA, NAIA platforms.

• Organize and transmit current and past student records to other institutions as needed.

• Manage alumni records, education verification and send transcripts as needed.

• Manage and update information on the college counseling visitor welcome TVs.

• Communicate with the Tampa Prep marketing department with any website updates, news to parents, the visiting colleges list (SCOIR).

• Outreach to colleges and manage college rep visits in SCOIR and communicate to students.

• Assist with planning, logistics, and execution of College Counseling student/parent programs.

• All other duties and tasks that may be delegated by the Director of College Counseling.

• Work as the AP exam coordinator.

• Work with the class scheduler on students yearly academic schedules.

• Help maintain and update Tampa Prep School Profile
