Focus On One Point At A Time

To keep your mental game strong, approach each match one point at a time and in the present moment. Push the 100 thoughts about your opponent’s skill level, previous errors, or next points aside focusing only on the current play. This mindset suggests each match be played as a series of mini encounters with your opponent. Every point should be the most important.

Tip Of The Month

While you are playing and you see your opponent strike the ball, say to yourself, “Hit it to ME!!” That way you will ALWAYS be READY!!

Christy Anderson’s work ethic knows no bounds. In the early morning hours, Christy is working behind the scenes to clean up the entire Racquet Sports area. She handles all tasks, even the not-soglamourous ones, like blowing debris off the courts or pulling weeds. She goes the extra mile to have the Racquet Sports pavilion in pristine condition by the time the players arrive. She sweeps the area in front of the shop, and even in the parking lot, ensuring there are no tripping hazards. Christy is in her 17th year at Tamarisk, and she takes pride and ownership in all she does. She has even brought special equipment from home to repair ripped tennis nets. Christy is attentive; you will never have an empty water cooler because she monitors and refills them on a daily basis. She is a forward thinker, as she anticipates any issues before they occur. She does all of this and more while being an excellent tennis and pickleball player who makes every match competitive and fun! We are so very lucky to have Christy on our team. Christy is not only a credit to herself and our team, but to the entire Membership of Tamarisk Country Club.
