We’ve expanded our groomable terrain with new runs south of Bliss—enhancements that not only elevate the guest experience but also support long-term forest health and recovery. Our beginner run, Waltz, has been widened and refined to give new skiers and riders the best possible start. In addition, specialized equipment was brought in to prepare key trails like Serenity and Showtime, ensuring smoother surfaces and earlier openings across the mountain. Now entering its second season, the Mid-Mountain Lodge has quickly become a cornerstone of the Tamarack experience. This year, guests can look forward to expanded dining, live music, and the unparalleled views of Lake Cascade that make the lodge so special. We are also thrilled to welcome Chef Charlie Trexel to our culinary leadership team. His deep experience in destination dining and his passion for mountain-inspired cuisine will be felt across our eateries.

As always, what makes Tamarack extraordinary is the way our community comes together. This season’s Enchanted Holidays continue that tradition—transforming the resort into a festive alpine retreat. The pop-up Miracle Bar runs through December and we’ll welcome the New Year with fireworks, music, and night skiing. Beyond the season ahead, Tamarack is actively shaping its future. HOMEOWNER PROFILE THE DRISCOLL FAMILY

Janet and Darin Driscoll just made the leap from longtime Tamarack visitors to full-time members. Originally from Southern Idaho and Seattle, the Driscolls spent years snowmobiling and skiing near Donnelly before deciding to make Tamarack their winter home. With five grown daughters and eleven grandkids who love to ski and golf, Tamarack has quickly become the family’s new gathering place.

Q: IT SOUNDS LIKE TAMARACK HAS BEEN A PART OF YOUR LIVES FOR A WHILE. WHAT’S CHANGED SINCE YOU BECAME OWNERS?

DARIN: We’ve loved coming up to Tamarack for years. We have a cabin near Boulder Creek in Donnelly, and we’d ski Tamarack whenever we could. But this year we decided to take the plunge and buy a studio condo at The Lodge at Osprey Meadows and a Club Membership.

JANET: The biggest change for us is that we’re here more often. We live in Donnelly most of the summer, but in the winter we stay right at the resort. Having the Full Club Membership with Vertical Family Privileges that included our whole family made it an easy decision.

DARIN: The Membership, the skiing in the winter, the new marina, Osprey golf course - it’s made it a lot easier to get the kids and grandkids up here. Some of them want to get into mountain biking now as well.

JANET: We couldn’t have done it without our realtor, Kaila. She’s the best - really helped us find exactly what we were looking for, and making sure it was perfect for our family.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE FULL CLUB MEMBERSHIP?

DARIN: It’s really brought our family even closer. With five daughters and eleven grandkids, it gives us a home base that everyone loves coming back to.

JANET: The staff and the whole community up here have been so wonderful - they treat you like royalty! Everyone makes you feel so special.

DARIN: We were able to golf some this summer, but I’m hoping to play even more next summer!

Q: YOU HAVE A BACKGROUND IN MUSIC, JANET? TELL ME ABOUT THAT.

JANET: Yes! I’ve performed around Idaho for more than 30 years - mostly country and Fleetwood Mac–style covers. I sing and write some of my own music. Two years ago I cut an album in Nashville with Gary Tackett - our band name is Full Moon Rude. Music’s been a huge part of my life, and I like to perform whenever I can.

JANET: Tamarack has been everything we hoped it would be. CHARLIE TREXEL, EXECUTIVE CHEF

Originally from Plymouth, Chef Charlie Trexel has worked in the culinary industry across the country. When his former colleague and current Tamarack Resort Manager Jason Friendy reached out about the head chef position at Tamarack, Charlie jumped at the opportunity to trade ocean views for mountain air - and a lifestyle that allows him to hunt, fish, hike, and golf.

Q: WHERE WERE YOU BEFORE TAMARACK? WHAT BROUGHT YOU HERE?

CHARLIE: I’ve lived in about thirteen states, coast to coast, working as a chef. I started out in the Florida Keys at the Waldorf, then moved to New Orleans to oversee the restaurants at the Waldorf and the Three Waters Resorts. In total, that was twelve restaurants - a lot of moving parts.

Jason Friendy, who I worked with in Tahoe about ten years ago, called me up and asked if I wanted to apply for the head chef position here. I was ready for a change of scenery — somewhere I could get back to hunting, camping, fishing, golfing, and hiking. You can only do so much of that when you’re surrounded by ocean.

Q: WHEN DID YOU KNOW YOU WANTED TO BE A CHEF?

CHARLIE: Honestly, for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved the art behind cooking - it’s an artform that customers can experience with all five senses. You get to take ingredients from the earth and turn them into something people connect with. That’s what’s always driven me.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT LIFE AT TAMARACK SO FAR?

CHARLIE: Well I’ve only been here four days - but I know I’m going to love it. The lifestyle fits. I love being outdoors, and my three dogs do too. My girlfriend works up here as well - she’s a bartender at The Reserve and has a background in catering management - so we both feel right at home and eager to add to the incredible places and restaurants here at Tamarack.

Q: FAVORITE BOOK OR MOVIE?

CHARLIE: I can give you a genre - horror movies - I like ‘em all!

Q: IF YOU COULD LEARN ANY NEW SKILL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

CHARLIE: I’d learn to play an instrument. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never really made the time for. I can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano though.

Q: I’M SURE THAT SONG WILL COME IN HANDY SOMEDAY. WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR 13-YEAR-OLD SELF?

Q: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?

CHARLIE: Ambitious. Outgoing. Insanely hardworking. Funny as hell. Passionate.

Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO GET BETTER IN THE KITCHEN?

CHARLIE: Don’t be afraid to fail. Ninety percent of the good things in culinary arts started as failures. That’s how you learn what works!

Q: WHAT SHOULD GUESTS BE LOOKING FORWARD TO NOW THAT YOU’RE HEAD CHEF?

CHARLIE: We’re cooking up some great things for Tamarack—but I gotta say—this upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas menu at The Reserve is going to be special. With all the local flavors, it’ll be a dinner you remember forever.
