In multi-family projects, developers are focused on maximizing leasable square footage. Often challenged by space taken up by mechanical systems, land use, and construction constraints. Structural engineering helps by designing framing systems that reduce the need for mechanical chases. Using trusses instead of dimensional lumber, and aligning framing through corridors, creates built-in paths for plumbing, electrical, and ductwork. Early coordination with the full design team is key to avoiding costly changes and delays.

Tamarack Grove Engineering provided structural engineering for the Ledgestone Hotel in Billings, Montana. Completed as part of the growing Ledgestone Hotels portfolio, this four-story property offers guests spacious, fully appointed studio suites—each designed with the comfort and functionality of a modern home. Our team worked closely with the architect and contractor to deliver a structural solution that balanced efficiency and flexibility. The building was designed to support the generous unit layouts—ranging from 365 to 405 square feet. Special consideration was given to vibration control and sound transmission to ensure a quiet, comfortable environment for guests.

The project was supported by a structural framework designed for long-term performance in Montana’s variable climate. From foundation design to lateral load resistance, our engineers ensured the structure met local code requirements while supporting the aesthetic and functional vision of the project team.

Located on Sunny Ridge Road, the project blends quality construction with thoughtful design, delivering a modern living experience in one of Nampa’s most desirable areas.
