E!
Alcudia’s Townhall is collaborating with the photographer Enric Xavier Company or ‘Kaiko’ to mark World Environment Day on June 5th. Kaiko has already held two workshops last week in the library of Can Torró. The workshop was called “HojAnimals” and children made animals from the leaves they found. The objective was to introduce the children to the animal and plant wealth of forests and raise their awareness of how important the forests are. The photo exhibition began after Kaiko visited about 144 forests on the mainland of Spain. It features, two large format canvases and two cubes hanging from the ceiling of the Auditorium. The exhibition is interactive and visitors are invited to write about their ideal forest. Runs until 25th June.

The Minister of Land, Energy and Mobility, Marc Pons, and the Minister for the Environment, Agriculture and Fisheries, Vicenç Vidal, visited Puerto Pollensa
this week to present their new project and Mayor of Pollensa, Miquel Àngel March, signed the agreement with Marc Pons for the construction of the station, on municipal land. The Environment Minister stressed that the sustainable tourism tax will be used to offset the impact of tourism and this project is an example. It will also be used to facilitate access to places like the Tramuntana mountains or beaches like the public estate of Son Real, using
public transport to enhance “access to these places in a more sustainable and safer way”. The Sustainable Mobility Project will promote the natural beaches of Mallorca, by providing public transport to visit natural areas of special interest and reduce the pressure from private vehicles.
The main areas of action are the Sierra de Tramuntana, the Formentor peninsula, the estate of Son Real and Varques Cala Mondragó Natural Park. The project includes the construction
