Business Opportunity

Over the last 18-months we have worked with a number of communities, business people and entrepreneurs who wanted their own magazine to promote their cause, charity, association, community, high street or purely to sell adverts and obtain a new business stream. Every month we produce a new digital magazine and each special edition provides you with your own pages to promote yourself or your cause. It's an A5 size publication and some people have combined a print edition with the eMagazine. It's very popular with Charities and Associations who can sell advertising pages to their sponsors and businesses and in turn forward 'their' Take Five eMagazine to each and everyone of their followers and supporters. The Charity promotes those who kindly support them and they in turn benefit from revenue raised from advertising. It's a win win situation for very little cost. If you would be interested in licensing your own Take Five eMagazine, please contact us for a zeroobligation chat... Stay Safe everyone.. TURN 40

Jake Blues, just released from prison, puts together his old band to save the Catholic home where he and his brother Elwood were raised.. Here's a few goofs and trivia to watch out for... The first day of filming saw 76 Chicago police cars racing across town in pursuit of the 1974 Dodge Monaco 440 known as The Bluesmobile. John Landis and his team filmed all the action scenes on Sundays and holidays during the early morning as that was when downtown was most vacant. Carrie Fisher became engaged to Dan Aykroyd during this shoot shortly after he saved her from choking, by applying the Heimlich

Wondering how many cars were written-off during the crashhappy running time? 103. A world record at the time, later topped in 1998’s sequel Blues Brothers 2000 by one single car. Props to the prop handlers: there were 13 Bluesmobiles created for the film, each specially customised for very specific stunts. The most frequently used model had separate brakes on each tire, giving it even more control for spins where the stunt drivers needed it.. As one of the trains passes Elwood's place, the triangular yellow "No Passing Zone" sign above the refrigerator falls slightly and swings left a bit. Then, in the close-up of Elwood making toast, the edge the sign can be seen down behind the fridge. When the shot pulls out again, the sign is where it originally fell to.

The Bluesmobile drove under the elevated train line at 118 mph. The film crew got permission to clear the street for two 100+ mph passes. Stunt pedestrians were added after the first pass, to add realism.

Real Women: Princess Grace Kelly Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American film actress who became Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III in April 1956. The so-called "wealthy" family Grace was born into was actually an immigrant family of bricklayers who had barely a generation of newfound business success. Grace's father and brother were both Olympic gold-medal scullers. The Country Girl (1954), the film that won Kelly an Oscar, was first offered to Jennifer Jones, who had to turn It down because of pregnancy. She was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6329 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California. [February 1960] Hedda Hopper reported that Judy Garland's loss of the Academy Award to Grace for The Country Girl (1954) was the result of the closest Oscar vote up till that time that did not end in a tie, with just six votes separating the two. The road accident which led to her death was apparently caused by a stroke she suffered while driving. Broke off her engagement to Oleg Cassini to marry Prince Rainier of Monaco.

While pregnant with Princess Caroline of Monaco, Grace often used her Hermès bag to shield her belly from prying paparazzi. The company nicknamed that purse "the Kelly bag". (April 19, 1956) Her wedding's church ceremony at Monaco's Saint Nicholas Cathedral was exclusively filmed by MGM and made into the documentary The Wedding in Monaco (1956). The 600 guests included David Niven, Gloria Swanson, Ava Gardner and Conrad Hilton. Cary Grant named her as his favourite co-star. His friends and family said Kelly's death hit him much harder than the deaths of Louis Mountbatten, Alfred Hitchcock and even Ingrid Bergman.

Was allegedly romantically involved with all of her leading men apart from James Stewart. She was also linked to Marlon Brando, David Niven and JeanPierre Aumont. Her father built a beach house at the corner of 26th and Wesley in Ocean City, New Jersey in 1929. It became a popular family vacation destination, and hosted celebrity guests such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Grace's sister, Lizanne, lived in the house until it was sold in 2001. All of her leading men were egregiously older than her with the exception of William Holden, who was only 11 years older and Louis Jourdan, who was only 8 years older. Had an abortion in 1955 (confirmed by thenboyfriend Oleg Cassini decades after the fact) and two miscarriages in 1962. She was the very first actress to appear on a postage stamp. [1993]

Was a Girl Scout. She turned down the female lead in On the Waterfront (1954) in order to make Rear Window (1954) instead. The role went to Eva Marie Saint. Had appeared in three films directed by Alfred Hitchcock: Rear Window (1954), Dial M for Murder (1954) and To Catch a Thief (1955). Grace Kelly passed away on September 14, 1982, two months away from what would have been her 53rd birthday on November 12. Had a not-so-secret affair with Robert Dornhelm, 2 years before her death. On 14 September 1982, Grace Kelly was killed in an automobile accident in Monaco, supposedly on the Moyenne Corniche which was the same road as her famous chase scene in the film To Catch a Thief (1955) and not far from where she had a picnic scene with Cary Grant.

Man's Man: George Clooney George Clooney is possibly today's answer to Steve McQueen, in being Mr Cool, but the difference being he always has a sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye. Was voted "Best Dressed Male Television Star." [1997] Chosen by People (USA) magazine as one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World." [1996] Cousin of the late actor Miguel Ferrer, Cousin-in-law of Debby Boone and Terry Botwick. Nephew of singer/actress Rosemary Clooney and Betty Clooney. He got his start in a movie starring his cousin, Miguel Ferrer. Later, after Clooney had established himself on ER (1994), Ferrer made a guest appearance on the very first show. George's aunt, Rosemary Clooney, made guest appearances on two shows the first month ER (1994) aired.

Is the sixth actor to play Batman. Heads his own film and television production company, Maysville Pictures. He loves beer. He does voiceovers for Budweiser TV commercials and allegedly had a beer keg installed in his dressing room during filming of Ocean's Eleven (2001). Lived in a friend's closet while struggling as an actor in L.A., early in his career. Is a Dallas Mavericks fan. Appears on the cover of the first Men's Vogue. (2005) Owns a villa in Laglio at Lake Como, Italy, where he lives several months of the year.. Suffered from Bell's palsy for a time while he was in high school. In 2007, Forbes Magazine estimated his earnings for the year at $25 million.

His palatial estate "Villa Oleandra" overlooking Italy's Lake Como comprises 15 rooms, a wine cellar, and a master bedroom suite atop three floors. In his garage, Clooney keeps his collection of Piaggio motorbikes. His favourite song is "Destination Moon" by Dinah Washington. His role as Danny Ocean in the Ocean's Eleven (2001) trilogy was parodied on Robot Chicken (2005), and the character was voiced by his cousin Miguel Ferrer. Suffers from a form of malaria that surfaces from time to time; he has to live with it for the rest of his life. His wedding to Amal Clooney (Amal Alamuddin) cost an estimated $4.6 million. Close friends with Michelle Pfeiffer, Matt Damon, Julianna Margulies, Don Cheadle, Tina Fey, Anthony Edwards, Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts. Is the only person to have been nominated for an Oscar in 6 different categories. Best Picture for Argo (2013), Best Actor for The Descendants (2011), Up In The Air (2009) and

Michael Clayton (2007), Best Adapted Screenplay for The Ides Of March (2011), Best Supporting Actor for Syriana (2005), and finally Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Good Night And Good Luck (2005). Co-founded the popular drink brand "Casamigos Tequila" (house of friends) with friend and business partner Rande Gerber in 2013. He is close friends with Ben Affleck. Both have played Batman in liveaction films.

Maybe Their Last Known Photo Before They Died These last few months have been the strangest and possibly the most difficult for many of us. Nobody is immortal but many stars have been taken early so In homage to a few icons of music, film, and sport, so we have compiled a short list of the last photos taken of these few 'celebrities'. (Source: Robin Williams, 63, 1951-2014 This photo of Robin Williams with his monkey, Crystal, was posted by to his Instagram on his birthday, 20 days before he died. Williams had been misdiagnosed as having Parkinson's Disease but actually suffered from a type of dementia that led to severe paranoia in the days before his death. He committed suicide by hanging at the age of 63. Carrie Fisher, 60, 1956-2016 Best known as the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and for her roles in Star Wars and the Blues Brothers, this photo of Carrie Fisher was taken by a fan in London the day before she boarded a flight to Los Angeles. On board the flight she suffered a heart attack and passed away in hospital four days later. Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds died aged 84, just one day after the death of her daughter.

Freddie Mercury, 45, 1946-1991 This is one of the last photos of the lead singer of Queen, taken in 1991. Until the very end, Freddie denied rumours

about having AIDS, preferring to avoid the inevitable media circus and concentrate on his career as best he could. The day before his death he released the following statement : "Following the enormous conjecture in the press over the last two weeks, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS. I felt it correct to keep this information private to date to protect the privacy of those around me. However, the time has come now for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth and I hope that everyone will join with me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease. My privacy has always been very special to me and I am famous for my lack of interviews. Please understand this policy will continue." Less than 24 hours later he died from bronchopneumonia, that was brought on by having AIDS. (Source: Ultimate Classic Rock)

David Bowie, 69, 1947-2016 The December 7th 2015 premiere of his musical, 'Lazarus,' at the Theatre Workshop in New York would turn out to be David Bowie's final public appearance. Bowie had been battling liver cancer for over a year, and by this late stage was aware that it was terminal. His final album 'Blackstar' was full of references to death and he had appeared to have accepted and come to terms with his own mortality, with a humour and grace that many of us can only hope to emulate. Jimi Hendrix, 27, 1942-1970 This photo of Jimi Hendrix with his favourite guitar 'Black Betty' was taken on September 17th, 1970, by his girlfriend Monika Danneman in the garden behind her apartment. Hendrix died the next day from a barbiturate-related asphyxia in London. He is said to have choked on his own vomit after taking a mixture of drugs, including a large dose of sleeping pills. There is no indication to suggest that Hendrix's death was a suicide, despite media speculation that it was.

John Lennon, 40, 1940-1980 The man who shot John Lennon, Mark David Chapman, is captured getting an autograph from the Beatles star. After signing the album for him, Lennon asked, "Is this all you want?" Chapman smiled and nodded in agreement. Four hours later, as Lennon was returning to his residence from a recording studio, Chapman dropped onto one knee and fired five bullets into Lennon's back from close range. Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital soon after. Marilyn Monroe, 36, 1926-1962 This photo shows Marilyn Monroe with jazz pianist Buddy Greco in August 1962, just days before her death. She was found dead in her Los Angeles home by her psychiatrist, having experienced various mental health problems including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and chronic insomnia for many years. Her death was officially ruled a probable suicide due to the large amount of barbiturates she had ingested, previous overdosing and being prone to mood swings and suicidal ideation.

James Dean, 24, 1931-1955 This photo of James Dean at a gas station was taken the day that he died. Dean was a keen driver and loved race cars. He died when he crashed the Porsche in this photo, swerving to avoid an oncoming car, on September 30, 1955. Curiously, when Dean introduced himself to British actor Alec Guinness during an encounter in Hollywood, he asked him to take a look at the car. Guinness thought the car appeared "sinister" and told Dean: "If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week." This happened on September 23, 1955, seven days before Dean's death. Martin Luther King, Jr., 39, 1929-1968 The photo on the left shows the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. standing with other civil rights leaders on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 3rd, 1968. A day later he was assassinated in approximately the same place by James Earl Ray, although there are many conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination. King was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where doctors opened his chest and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m on April 4th, 1968.

Amy Winehouse, 27, 1983-2011 This photo of Amy Winehouse was taken in London on July 12th, 2011. She died at her home on July 23rd 2011, with the coroner's inquest reaching a verdict of accidental alcohol poisoning. Winehouse's blood alcohol content was more than five times the legal drink-drive limit, with the unintended consequences of such potentially fatal levels being her sudden death. Her brother, Alex Winehouse, revealed her battles with eating disorders. "She suffered from bulimia very badly. That's not, like, a revelation – you knew just by looking at her… She would have died eventually, the way she was going, but what really killed her was the bulimia… I think that it left her weaker and more susceptible. Had she not had an eating disorder, she would have been physically stronger." John F. Kennedy, 46, 1917-1963 This photo of John F. Kennedy was taken just before his assassination in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with Kennedy's assassination, which he denied. Oswald was himself killed soon after. The case has led to myriad conspiracy theories that continue to circulate to this day.

Where Are They Now: The cast of Friends

It’s been over 20 years since Friends premiered and changed Sitcoms on TV in a major way. The show ended in May 2004, but stars Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc have managed to stay in the spotlight. Here's a little five minute look at what the cast has been up to since "Friends" aired its final episode 15 years ago. Did you realise Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston were only 24 when the series started? In case you might have forgotten or you're not old enough to have missed this 'must see' show, Friends aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004, lasting ten seasons. The show revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s who

live in Manhattan, New York City with most of the action either taking place in an apartment they share together (a-la Big Bang Theory reprised many ideas in their show too) or their local coffee shop. Let’s take a look at what the cast looked like at the beginning of the series and what they’re up to now!

1. Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) Rachel was the runaway bride who went through an on-again, off-again relationship with Ross on Friends. The ageless beauty has gone on to become one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, with a plethora of blockbusters under her belt. She went on to star in films such as Office Space, Bruce Almighty, The Break-Up, and more. Unlike some of her costars, she has not returned to TV for any starring roles (but she's just signed with Apple TV for a new show coming soon), though she has done guest roles on popular shows like 30 Rock, Burning Love, and Cougar Town (her pal Courteney's show). Some of her biggest publicity after Friends ended was about her divorce from actor Brad Pitt, due to the fact that when they separated, it was largely believed he left her for Angelina Jolie, who he met while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. She's moved on like the icon she is and recently married Justin Theroux. In 2014, the 48-year-old was number three on the Forbes list of highest paid actresses. 2. Ross (David Schwimmer) Actor/director David Schwimmer played Ross Geller, Monica's older brother and Rachel's on-off partner throughout the series.

After his wife left him for another woman, Ross fell in love with Rachel Green (for the second time since high school): the pair began dating in season 2. The palaeontologist-turned-professor is probably the most intelligent of the Friends gang, and is remembered for his goofy yet endearing personality. Since Friends ended in 2004, Schwimmer directed Run, Fatboy, Run and Trust; he also starred in Duane Hopwood. In 2016, Schwimmer excelled in American Crime Story as the late Robert Kardashian, for which he received his second Primetime Emmy Award nomination. The actor also had a recurring role in the Will & Grace revival last year. In 2010, Schwimmer married artist, photographer and producer, ZoĂŤ Buckman, but announced their separation in 2017 - the couple have a daughter together. 3. Monica (Courteney Cox) Of all the Friends cast, Courteney Cox stayed with TV to maintain her success. She took a tiny break before appearing on the TV show Dirt from 2007-2008. She got her own series, Cougar Town, which lasted from 2009-2015 and it was filled with fun cameos from her previous co-stars. She served as executive producer for Cougar Town, as well as the TV show Celebrity Name Game. In 2016 you can see her in the film Mothers and Daughters with Sharon Stone and Christina Ricci.

4. Chandler (Matthew Perry) Unfortunately, Matthew Perry hasn’t lead as charmed a life as his fun-loving character. He revealed after the season finale that he had been struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction, for which he would go through multiple stints in rehab. In 2013 he opened Perry House, a sober living home where men can go to transition from rehab to the real world. In August 2018, the actor revealed that he was hospitalised for several months after undergoing gastrointestinal surgery. Perry also alarmed fans after tweeting that he "got kicked out of therapy." He later clarified, writing: "Easy guys, it was just one session. I'm back in therapy where I belong." On the acting front, Perry starred as Ted Kennedy on " The Kennedys After Camelot." He also starred on "The Odd Couple," "Go On," and "Mr. Sunshine." 5. Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) After Friends, Lisa involved herself with writing, producing, and starred in The Comeback on HBO. On the big screen, she appeared in P.S. I Love You,

Bandslam, Hotel for Dogs, Easy A, and Neighbors and Neighbors 2, Sorority Rising, Table 19, and The Girl on the Train with Emily Blunt. Kudrow lent her voice to characters on "BoJack Horseman" and "The Boss Baby." Most recently, she played Lori-Anne Schmidt on "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and Sheree on "Grace and Frankie." Kudrow also created and starred on the Showtime series "Web Therapy," which lasted for four seasons and got nominated for a Primetime Emmy. 6. Joey (Matt LeBlanc) Actor, comedian and TV host Matt LeBlanc played Joey Tribbiani in Friends the simple-minded but goodnatured struggling ItalianAmerican actor. Forever a ladies man, Joey is most remembered for his love of (many) women and food, in particular sandwiches and pizza. . In 2004, LeBlanc starred in the short-lived Friends spin-off, Joey, LeBlanc has since appeared in former co-star Lisa Kudrow's comedy show Web Therapy, and more notably in the British comedy series Episodes from 2011-2017, which won him a Golden Globes award for best actor. The actor was also the co-host/presenter of British motor series Top Gear (2012-2019), where he met his current partner (and the show's producer) Aurora Mulligan. Since 2016 he has been playing the character Adam Burns in Man with a Plan, which in part due to the present Corvid-19 crisis, has just been cancelled.

A Few Fun Facts You Might Not Know about No.53: “Herbie: The Love Bug Dean Jones credits the film's success to the fact that it was the last live-action film that Walt Disney had authorised for production. The only existing "Trick Herbie", from the movie which can do everything that Herbie is known for, like squirting oil and opening his doors by himself, is owned by Dean Jones. Herbie got his name when the crew of the film was watching one of Buddy Hackett's skits about a ski instructor with a funny accent. Then Hackett said, "If you ain't got a herbie [pronounced as hoy-bie], I ain't goin'." The name stuck, permanently. According to the filmmakers in the DVD documentary, Herbie's number 53 came from a Disney director or producer, that liked retired baseball pitching star, Don Drysdale of the Los Angeles Dodgers. 53 was Don Drysdale's uniform number.

During the exchange between Jim Douglas and Mr. Wu while hanging from Herbie's rear bumper: "Car very strong." "And very fast." "The strength of forty horses." The stock Volkswagen Beetle engine did have forty horsepower.. The station attendant at Tang Wu's Quick Service is wearing a jacket bearing the phrase "Put a Dragon in Your Tank." This is a reference to the 1960s advertising slogan

"Put a Tiger in Your Tank" used by the Esso oil corporation, the forerunner of ExxonMobil. The climax "El Dorado" race begins at Yosemite's Ahwahnee Hotel. The backdrop in the race scenes is of the Riverside International Raceway.

Thorndyke's luxury car is a 1955 RollsRoyce Silver Wraith. During one scene in the movie, Herbie has lost one of his wheels, and Tennessee is hanging out of the The Love Bug Release date December

The BEST Ways to Get Through Life! By Robert Landau

Imagine being able to go through the rest of your life as if you were on a luxury cruise. If you’ve never been on one, there’s just something about boarding a cruise ship that gets everybody pumped and looking forward to the best journey of their lives. A sea vacation of wonderment and joy awaits anyone who is open to it. Your present life experience IS a cruise. At least it can be if you make the right mindset preparation and walk on board with the right attitude. Just like a cruise, your life can be full of fun and positive experiences. The great thing about your cruise through life is that

YOU are the Captain of your ship In over 10 years as an International Cruise Director, I found that a successful cruise depends on four elements; having well-planned fun, visiting some amazing ports of call, making sure that everyone on board is safe and after the cruise is over, what can passengers take away from the experience? Here’s how you can translate all of that into a workable plan for the rest of your life’s journey. HAVE FUN There isn’t much point to a cruise unless there’s fun involved. Fun is the glue that holds everything together not only on a cruise but in your life as well. The Cruise Director can create scenarios where plenty of fun is involved, but it’s always up to the passengers to participate. Fun is a choice. It’s up to you to create and invite it into your life. Greet each and every day with the idea that you will have fun as the day unfolds, no matter what. Fun is like a magic wand that can change things for the better as soon as you put it to work for you.

Don’t know how to get started? Focus on things that make you smile and bring you joy. Adopting that type of mindset only invites more of the same into your life experience. When too many days pass without the spark of fun and joy, sadness and loneliness begin to set in. Science now proves that this is detrimental to your health. PLAN YOUR COURSE Every cruise has a plan to visit some amazing ports of call and each of those stops is strategically chosen to add specific value and memorable experiences. In the cruise that is your life, this means setting goals and successfully realising them. It’s a great feeling to set out with a specific destination in mind and then get there. Choosing the right ports and charting the correct course means you’re not wandering aimlessly at sea. Whatever it is that you want out of life, it’s essential that you have a plan. It’s the only way to get from A to Z. As the Captain of your ship, make a plan to get the most out of each place your ship stops. Each day of your cruise is another opportunity to get the most out of your life. Not every stop along your journey will be a memorable one. There may be some that you wished you had never set foot on. But that’s life. Choose to make the memorable ports of call along the way the ones that matter.

MAKE SURE SAFETY PROTOCOLS ARE IN PLACE On board a real cruise, before the ship heads for that first port and before all of the fun begins, we take time to make everyone aware of the safety procedures, just in case of unforeseen rough waters or worse yet, a disaster at sea. If you happen to be experiencing rough seas at this point in time, don’t go down with your ship. Just like a cruise ship has life jackets, lifeboats and special instructions in case of emergency, so should you. Throughout your cruise, a good Captain ensures your physical, mental and emotional security, especially during a disaster. It’s all about putting protocols in place so that you always feel safe throughout your journey. It’s important to remember that you can’t be prepared for everything that may present itself during a cruise. The unexpected can happen but how you choose to deal with it makes all the difference in the world. I always used to advise passengers should something unpleasant should occur during their cruise, to acknowledge it and choose not to let it ruin the rest of the voyage. In life, it’s always best to manage experiences of a negative nature. Make the choice not to become them. If we attach emotion to issues of a negative nature, we have to be sure to rise above that level sooner than later.

What three things do you need to do right now to move on from a not so pleasant situation? Put your safety plan in action and you will soon find yourself sailing through much calmer waters. A ship’s Captain knows that no storm lasts forever. It’s always smooth sailing ahead. All you have to do is get there. TAKEAWAYS? You’re on an absolute high for a week…and then it’s time to fly home. It’s one thing to have an amazing time during a cruise, but what can you take away from the experience to make the memories last? The key is to keep the joy of the cruise going long after the

vacation experience is over. In life, you have good weeks and you have bad weeks. Figure out what key feelings and emotions created the “high” of a great week, and do your best to re-create those feelings and emotions when the sea gets a little stormy during the darker weeks. If you’ll just take control and be the Captain of your ship, all of the excitement you experience during a cruise can also be realised in your journey throughout life. All it takes is knowing that life really IS a cruise full of fun, adventure and success. The overall experience is up to you simply because YOU are always the Captain of your ship. Bon Voyage! Five top tips for training dogs From pooches to puppies, Dobermans and Great Danes to Labradoodles and Corgis, Britain is a bona fide nation of animal lovers, and K9s are one of our favourites of all pets. It's just a shame so many people have such difficulty keeping their furry friends under control. Shocking stories about dogs gone wild aside, it's safe to say that the vast number of owners do struggle to keep their best friend in check at all times. This is unsurprising, because irrespective of how housebroken they are, we're still talking about a species of animal here, with wildly different behavioural and social tendencies than we two-legged creatures have instilled into ourselves. As such, if they want to run off and chase that bird, then chances are they will try to do just that. It's in their nature. Nevertheless, a poorly trained dog is no good, and can easily become something of an embarrassment. Whether that's going to the toilet in inappropriate places or running riot in the pub, there's no denying we've all seen it happen, and as any expert will tell you, the solution isn't particularly easy. Successfully passing on obedience and good behaviour takes time and commitment, but don't be put off - follow these simple rules and you won't go too far wrong...

Show them what it means to be a good leader Dogs are highly perceptive and have a pack mentality. Set an example for how you want the animal to behave, in order for them to learn and replicate that. Walks must involve discipline Particularly important with puppies. In order to ensure your hound doesn't wind up wrecking the house when nobody is watching, start the day with a disciplined walk, enough to let them work off some energy without returning over-excited. It's also a good idea to walk out of the house ahead of your dog when setting off, so as to show it who's boss. Understand your breed Partly thanks to man's penchant for and understanding of a dog's ability to work, each breed has a host of different personality traits and attributes. It's vital that you understand these in order to successfully train and balance your pet. Allow time for mental exercises, every day Here's where you can make a dog appreciate rules, boundaries and restrictions. Simply giving them a physical run-about isn't enough - their minds need to be stimulated in order to take on board the instructions you're giving them. Assign your dog a task before it gets a treat It's no good rewarding the animal for doing nothing if you want to perfect training. By giving it something to do before offering a tasty snack, drink or toy, man's best friend begins to understand that enjoyable things don't come for free.

Torrevieja Translators are happy to announce that we are now official affiliates of DGT (Tráfico) and can now process a lot more Driving Licence Exchanges quicker than before. We are in the process of contacting all clients who either have dates from us later in this month (11th Feb onwards) or the start of next month, to move everyone that wants it, forward to next week, or the following week. plus clients who have completed medicals but are awaiting a date for their licence exchange. These are located in Quesada (Rojales), San Miguel, Torrevieja and Zenia Boulevard. We will contact all customers with details shortly on the dates and times (all will be in the early evening and weekly, so don’t worry if you can’t do it next week, there are plenty more dates to do it before 29th March) but you must first have your Driver's Medical completed before we can do the final stage of the exchange. Is Age Just A Number How is it that yesterday's 50 is today's 40, and yesterday's 40, today's 30? How come people are starting to look much younger than they actually are? When I was growing up, my parents and their friends and the parents of my friends who were 30 then, looked older than people I know now who are over 50. It's not all that mysterious, though. There are two major factors. A lot of the adults I knew as a kid were heavy smokers, and when summer rolled around, we spent a great deal of time in the sun, both of which are hard on the skin. Apart from that, with the advent of better education, different food and lifestyle choices, plus generations who want to stay fitter and more active, the mortality tables are showing people living about 10 years longer than they did 60 years ago, so that's giving them a lot. So there is a difference that is objective, measurable and not just a figment of our imagination. And it's easy to be a cynic when we see someone over fifty and just assume they have the money to spend on a good plastic surgeon, because not all celebrities want to go under the knife. So here are a few Beauty Tips From Celebs Over 50. Julianne Moore, 59 At 59, Julianne Moore bucks the idea that women of a certain age need to have short hair. Her long locks help keep her waves in check.

She told Redbook in 2014, “One of the reasons I wear my hair long now is that the weight helps keep it smooth.” As for her equally smooth skin? “Sunscreen is my number-one thing,” she said. “I’ve worn it every day since I was 23.” Demi Moore, 57 The 57-year-old actress and model attributes her youthful skin to one thing: moisturiser. “I moisturise, moisturise, moisturise,” Moore told Marie Claire. “No matter how late it is, when I get home, I take the time to clean and moisturise my face. I’m a big believer in that if you focus on good skin care, you really won’t need a lot of makeup.” Iman, 63 Although former supermodel Iman claims that genetics are responsible for her ageing so beautifully, her attention to her skincare and exercise regimen certainly help. Iman makes sure to clean and moisturise her face twice a day and never skips sunscreen. Rita Moreno, 88 Rita Moreno is best known for playing Anita in West Side Story, and the 88-year-old actress is the only Latina to win an Emmy, a Tony, a Grammy, and an Oscar. Moreno told Fox News Magazine that she keeps her skin healthy thanks to exfoliating every day for years. She also shared some makeup tips: She recommends applying foundation with a brush and finishing with a sponge if you need to. And remember to blend well. “You always see the foundation end at the chin. It has to go further down. The decolleté area,” she said.

Tina Turner, 79 Age-defying singer Tina Turner has kept her famous legs looking fabulous over the years. The 79-year-old told the Mirror in 2009 that her not-so-secret secret to looking great “The main reason I’ve stayed looking good is that I’ve spent 40 years doing the most intensive stage workouts ever,” she said. Her best tip to looking and feeling great at any age, however, is selfconfidence. “My greatest beauty secret is being happy with myself,” she told Woman & Home magazine. “I believe that a lot of how you look is to do with how you feel about yourself and your life. Happiness is the greatest beauty secret. Gloria Estefan, 62 Sixty-two-year-old singer Gloria Estefan’s beauty secret starts with happiness and love, but her dedication to exercise and skincare also help her look her best, she says. She never sleeps with makeup on and exfoliates and exercises religiously, according to Healthy Living Made Simple. She recommends using a magnifying mirror when applying makeup so you can “see all that is going on with your skin.”

Cindy Crawford, 54 Model Cindy Crawford turned 54 this year, and although she’s genetically blessed, she dished on some beauty secrets that have helped keep her looking half her age to Allure magazine. “You can get any plastic surgery in the world, but hair colour is what enables women to look younger longer,” she said. She gives herself hair treatments to keep it conditioned. She also takes ageing in stride, however, saying “I don’t care how much you work out or how much cream you put on - things change.”

Raquel Welch, 79 Raquel Welch continues to dazzle at 79. Golden Globe Award-winning actress Raquel Welch, who has starred in numerous films and television series that spanned over 50 years is looking sexy and healthy at 79, making audiences wonder what's the secret behind her ageing ever so gracefully. The answer, according to Celebrity Health Fitness, is a lowcarb, gluten-free diet and exercise in the form of yoga. "I'm

holding together just fine, but I'm not doing it with no effort," The actress, was known as the iconic deer-skin bikini clad Loana in the 1966 film One Million Years B.C., landing her title as sex symbol soon thereafter. Welch, who now considers herself as a "faded sex symbol" also went on to be named by Empire magazine as one of the "100 Sexiest Stars in Film History" and Men's Health's "Hottest Women of All Time" list. Bo Derek, 63 For those of us 50 or older, the name Bo Derek will bring up but one number: 10. And at Bo Derek is still a “10” at age 63, Derek became a household name after starring in the hit 1979 film 10, Derek told WomenFitness.Net. “After morning chores and a little office work, I head to the pool at the YMCA for a mile swim, hopefully three days a week. I hate exercise and am quite expert at talking myself out of it.” “I get credit on one hand for not having had a facelift, and then on the other hand it’s, ‘Oh my God, why doesn’t she do something?'” Derek told CBS News.Despite looking fantastic for her age, Derek admits getting older is rough. “Ageing is really hard, and it’s tough,” Bo said. “Bette Davis was right: It’s not for sissies, it really isn’t.” But, no matter what, she's still a 10.

Suzi Quarto: The Queen of Rock'n'Roll... By Lee Howard

Suzi Quatro, the girl from Detroit, legend and my fab amiga and American rock singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress and the first female bass player to become a major rock star universally. Suzi celebrates her 70th Birthday on June 3rd along with 'Over 55 years in Rock and Roll'. The 70s, Quatro scored a whole host of hit singles reaching no.1 in the UK, across Europe and Australia, with her singles "Can The Can" in 1973 and "Devil Gate Drive" in1974. She also duetted with the band Smokie's lead singer Chris Norman recording "Stumblin' In" which reached No.4 in America. Quatro released her fabulous “Eponymous” debut album in 1973. Since then, she has released a total of fifteen studio albums, ten compilation albums, and one live album and released recently her brand new album titled “NO SOUL/NO CONTROL”, which keeps the Quatro sound still buzzing.

Other solo hits include "48 Crash", "Daytona Demon", "The Wild One", and "Your Mama Won't Like Me" and between 1973 and 1980, Suzi has also been awarded six Bravo Ottos, an accolade honouring excellence of performers in film, television and music with a platinum statuette presented for lifetime achievement. In 2010, Suzi was voted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends online Hall of Fame, has sold a massive 50 million plus albums and still performs live, all over the world. Born and raised in Detroit, her paternal grandfather was an Italian immigrant to the US. His family name of Quattrocchi was shortened by the immigration authorities to Quatro. Musically Suzi was influenced from the age of six by seeing Elvis Presley perform on television and has been quoted as saying that she never had a direct female role-model in music but was inspired by Billie Holiday and liked the dress sense of Mary Weiss of the Shangri-Las because she wore tight trousers and a waistcoat on top. She looked very hot! Quatro played drums/ percussion from an early age and always wanted to be an entertainer. She started off in the music business as part of

her father's jazz band, the Art Quatro Trio at the age of seven or eight playing drums. A few years later she also appeared on local television as a go-go dancer in a pop music series. Suzi absolutely admires her older sister Arlene, who as having been married seven times, admires her hopefulness... Family is everything and was at her happiest when her first child was born. Suzi moved to the UK in 1971, after being spotted by the record producer Mickie Most, with whom she signed a record contract with as by that time he had founded his own record label, Rak Records. Most was looking for a female rock singer who could fill the void that the death of Janis Joplin had created. His attention was drawn to Quatro and her comeliness and skills as a bass guitarist, singer and show-off. She was also attracting attention from Elektra Records and was told that according to the Elektra president, Suzi could become the new Janis Joplin. Mickie Most offered to take her to the UK

but had no idea at that time of how he might market Quatro. Suzi spent a year living in a hotel while being nurtured by Most, developing her skills and maturing her as an artist and performer. Subsequently, with the approval of Most, she called an audition for a backing band to accompany her and was introduced to the songwriting and production team of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman who wrote songs specifically to accompany Suzi’s leather-clad rock image. This was at the height of the Glam Rock period of the 1970s but Quatro bucked that trend, portraying more of a wild rock image, playing music that hinged mostly on a hard rock theme. It was May 1973, that her second single "Can the Can" reached No.1 in Europe and Australia. "Can the Can" was followed by three further hits: "48 Crash" (1973), "Daytona Demon" (1973) and "Devil Gate Drive" (1974). "Can the Can", "48 Crash" and "Devil Gate Drive" each sold over one million copies and were awarded gold discs. In 1973, Quatro played on the Cozy Powell hit "Dance With the Devil", a track written by Mickie Most. Cozy Powell was another successful part of the Rak Records family.

In the forty plus years that followed, from the 70s up-to the present day, Suzi has recorded, written and collaborated with many artists and still appears at music festivals and other gigs. In 2011, Suzi was inducted to the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame. In October 2016, she received an honorary doctorate in music from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. On August 15, 2019, an Australian-made film on the life of Quatro premiered in Melbourne, Victoria. "Suzi Q" is noted as the first official documentary to ever be released about her. It was described by Quatro as a "warts and all" look into her career, focusing on both the successes and challenges she faced along the way, particularly as she left her sisters in Detroit to pursue a solo career in London. In April 2009, BBC TV selected Quatro as one of twelve Queens of British Pop and I agree she really is! Her very successful career has spanned fifty-five years with a whopping seventeen albums and a multitude of singles. Her brand new album titled “NO SOUL/NO CONTROL (2020) has just been released and wow, at 70, Suzi Quatro is still rockin’ it! Long Reign the Q... Visit Suzi's official Website.

Cocktails with a coffee buzz Espresso shots get you through a tough day at work, and now they are becoming a popular way to start off an evening out or finish a meal with a buzz. Like a Red Bull and vodka, an espresso martini combines a shot of alcohol and caffeine. It would be stupid if you drunk them all night if you value your sleep, but they certainly are a great to start off the night on a high note. An espresso martini, sometimes called an espressotini, comes in various mixes. The only consistent ingredients are espresso and vodka. Despite the association with martinis, this cocktail never uses gin, which is too bitter to mix with already bitter espresso. Poor versions of the espresso martini use regular filtered coffee and even instant coffee, but the real thing should always use genuine cooled espresso shots. If you're making one at home, make a double espresso and allow it to cool down before chilling and adding it to your cocktail shaker. Using ice to cool down your espresso will just give you watered down espresso, although you can put an ice cube in the glass when serving.

The vodka in an espresso martini, always one single shot, is almost always of the flavoured variety. The most popular option is using vanilla vodka and adding a coffee liqueur such as Kahlua. To the base of espresso and vodka, some people like to add a splash of Grand Marnier, while other recipes prefer Tia Maria, Amaretto or CrĂƒ¨me de Cacao. Even chocolate liqueurs can be added if you prefer the taste of a mochaccino to a regular espresso. Pick your favourite liqueur and if you think it will go with your espresso martini then give it a try. Whatever you choose, make sure you only use a splash because the main purpose of this additional liqueur is to add a just hint of flavour. You don't want to overpower the primary flavours. If you like your coffee a little creamier like a cappuccino, you have the option of creating an Italian-style Irish coffee using the same espresso and vodka base. Shake two shots of espresso with one shot of vodka and two teaspoons of caster sugar. Carefully pour over a layer of Amarula Cream. Whatever recipe you choose, like James Bond's martini, it should always be shaken, not stirred. Though be sure to leave out the olive. The one thing that almost all espresso martini recipes agree on is the garnish. Three espresso beans will top your drink off properly. The rules for garnishes say that odd amounts are lucky so go with one, three or five beans. Serve simply in a martini glass, which you can rim with a mixture of sugar and cocoa powder.

Drug Free Pain Relief The days of having to put up with the pain of arthritis could be over thanks to an injection-free, drug-free, joint-lubrication gel called FLEXISEQ. Around 10 million people in the UK have some kind of musculoskeletal condition which can stop sufferers enjoying an active lifestyle, but this gel is gaining considerable support from the medical profession and users alike. It works by seeping through the skin to form a lubricating layer on damaged cartilage, allowing users to enjoy a more active life - or enabling pain relief where analgesics can't be tolerated. According to Professor Philip Conaghan, who conducted a large clinical study on the safety and effectiveness of FLEXISEQ, there is "a huge unmet need for effective and safe analgesics for osteoarthritis." The manufacturers of this wonder gel tackle joint wear and tear head-on, providing additional joint lubrication to compensate for lubricating materials lost in worn-out joints. The result is improved mobility and reduced pain - as well as no need to rely on traditional painkillers such as paracetamol or Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS) such as ibuprofen or diclofenac, which can cause an array of side effects.

The Lancet reported that many people suffering with osteoarthritis could be at risk from significant gastrointestinal and cardiovascular side effects from these drugs, either making them difficult to use - or causing considerable health issues, which are thought to be to blame for 16,500 unnecessary deaths a year in the USA alone. Studies on FLEXISEQ have shown patients to benefit hugely from the use of the gel which reduces pain and stiffness while also improving overall joint function. It is well tolerated with the only adverse reaction being mild to moderate skin irritations that disappeared after continued use. For those who would like to try out the product without risking any adverse effects of reducing existing therapies, there are no interactions known with medicines. So it is safe to use in conjunction with other treatments. The original 'max strength' FLEXISEQ has been available in the UK for two years and now the new 'light' variant, FLEXISEQ Active has been introduced as a cost-effective solution developed to introduce joint pain sufferers to the benefits of Joint Lubrication Therapy.

Write for Take Five Would you like to write for Take Five? Take Five magazine seeks fresh and invigorating material on any subject that may be of interest to our readers. FEATURES We are looking for well-written material about life as it was in Yesteryear, or for something fun and informative, celebrity interviews, etc... Word count: the preferred length for features is 350-700 words. There must be enough room for good accompanying photographs illustrating the feature articles, which will in turn mean the feature is far more likely to be published. Contributors will be credited and provided with a quarter page size advert to promote themselves or a business venture/sponsor, etc... There is not any payment or contra deal for articles of a commercial nature – and supporting paid advertising will usually be required. PHOTOS These should be yours or copyright free. . CONTACT US Please contact us in the first instance by e-mail to: Keith@TakeFiveMag.com
