The second edition of the Fields series, Explorations #2, offers creations that explore the possibilities of silk carpet construction with subtlety and simplicity. The first set of designs uses 100% pure silk yarn in weaves of 80, 100, and 150 knots per square inch. These creations are imbued with antique qualities that showcase natural silk's exquisite attributes. A second assortment utilises combinations of silk ribs with materials such as lurex, linen, nettle, mohair and wool. These variations demonstrate the versatility of silk when working in harmony with complimentary fibers to express an aesthetic idea.
