Bastide, The Bastide Edition is a hand-tufted carpet series from Edward Fields Carpet Makers. The edition was inspired by the decorative traditions, particularly needlework and architectural ornamentation, and the natural terrain of the European Mediterranean region.

The Bastide Edition comprises 12 distinct designs. Geometric patterns such as Occitan and Luberon are reminiscent of artfully arranged paving stones. Isili and Bosa are stylized florals, evocative of regional embroidery.

Conceived in a monochromatic palette—each design has been rendered in a luxurious beige wool with occasional brown accents—the edition relies on texture, not color, to convey subtleties of pattern. The expressive use of texture is a hallmark of the Edward Fields design studio: The Bastide Edition is a very contemporary expression of the brand’s signature aesthetic.
