This past year, Skeena continued to strengthen efforts to engage with Tahltan businesses and contractors. In 2024, our partnerships with Tahltan-affiliated businesses and entities resulted in over $52 million* in contracts, wages, purchases, and donations. Since 2018, Skeena has invested over $200 million* in Tahltan-affiliated businesses and entities. Skeena had 32 Tahltan employed across 20 full-time roles in 2024. Amongst the Tahltans employed at Skeena, 25% of them are in management or professional-track roles!
Skeena was proud to support a variety of community groups and initiatives this year, such as Dease Lake grad, Tahltan Youth Literacy Camps, Tahltan health & social programs, community barbecues, Tahltan Day, Dease Lake Community days, and several local sports teams.
As the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project advances, Skeena will continue to take an active part in sourcing local procurement and forging new mutually beneficial relationships.

In 2024, Skeena Gold + Silver employed the equivalent of 766 full-time jobs in BC, which includes 450 sitebased contractors and 316 Skeena employees. As Skeena’s flagship asset, Eskay Creek, is located within Tahltan territory, most of these positions were filled by those from rural communities in northwestern British Columbia, such as Dease Lake, Iskut, Telegraph Creek, Terrace, and Smithers.
In 2024, Skeena’s annual contribution to the BC economy was more than 81 times greater than what it was when Skeena first focused work activities in BC in 2014. Skeena’s total expenditures in BC from 2014 to 2024 are over $523 million. In 2024 alone, Skeena invested more than $124* million in British Columbia, with over 42% of that sum going towards wages, service providers, and small businesses in the northwest region of BC.
