The Great Taranaki Steam Band
It will be a rollercoaster ride of sound when The Great Taranaki Steam Band swings into the Pacific Crystal Palace. After sold out performances in 2015 and 2017, the 35-strong community ensemble is delighted to return again to the Spiegeltent to present a concert of varied styles of much-loved tunes like All of Me, Moondance, Witchcraft, Beyond the Sea, and even The Flintstones! Under the baton of musical director Christopher Luke this performance promises to be a toe-tapping extravaganza.

Celebrating its 160th anniversary the Band has claims to being the oldest brass band in New Zealand – able to trace continual lineage since its foundation in 1859. Thrilled to be performing in the Pacific Crystal Palace, many of the band members have represented New Zealand in both National and National Youth Bands. From traditional marches to contemporary works, classical to jazz, The Devon Hotel New Plymouth Brass will have you on the edge of your seat at every moment!
