Meet local teacher: Chrystal Geddes
Roma-based teacher Chrystal Geddes brings a passion for learning to the classroom in our early childhood education and care courses. After working as an early childhood educator for nine years, Chrystal decided to take the next step in her career and become a TAFE Queensland teacher. Combining her love of teaching and early childhood education was a main driver for her career transition. When asked about what it takes to work in an early childhood education and care role, Chrystal’s enthusiasm for the industry is evident. Childcare is about shaping the future of the next generation.

Meet local teacher: Vince Carline
Vince has spent more than 15 years’ working in the aged care and community service industry, and together with and extensive career in hospitality management prior, Vince brings a breath of industry knowledge to his teaching role at TAFE Queensland. Vince has always worked closely with people, and he has a heart for ensuring superior support services are available in the community. Vince believes hands-on learning, as well access to the fully-equipped clinical training room at the Roma campus, ensure a student experience.
We provide practical tips and examples throughout the course. It’s not just learning the theory. We do role plays and we look at case studies. I ask the students: “If this was a situation, how do we do it safely? What’s the right approach and what’s the wrong approach in this situation”.
