TAFE Queensland Trade Champions 2025
Course Description
TAFE Queensland, in partnership with the Gold Coast Manufacturing Hub, is proud to launch the Trade Champions initiative a pilot program designed to celebrate and support high-performing students who have completed the Certificate II in Engineering Pathways and are ready to take the next step toward a rewarding career in manufacturing.
The Trade Champions Program will run weekly on Wednesdays for seven weeks. Hosted by TAFE Queensland, students will connect with potential employers, hear from industry experts about career opportunities, take part in hands-on workshops, and tour local manufacturing facilities. Following the program, students will have the chance to complete job trials, with successful participants gaining exposure that may lead to apprenticeship opportunities in manufacturing.

Class Times: 8:00am - 3:00pm

Duration: 7 weeks (every Wednesday, commencing on the 27th of August)
First Day: Students to meet in the courtyard outside cafeteria A block on Ground Level, please see campus map.
Selection Criteria
• Students that have shown interest in pursuing a career in trades, engineering or manufacturing industries
• Shown commitment to completing the program with the goal of commencing an apprenticeship in manufacturing
• This program is offered to Year 11 and 12 students currently enrolled in and attending a State, Private or Independent School in Queensland.
• Note: Students will receive notification from MSQ (Manufacturing Skills Queensland) as we will be enrolling you into a workplace induction

Resources Required
Under Workplace Health and Safety legislation students are legally required to wear appropriate protective clothing in class and around the Trades area at all times.
You will need to have the following:
• Resume on USB (if you have one)
• Steel capped safety work boots, required from the first day.
• 100% Cotton Drill industry clothing – including long sleeved top and pants or overalls,
• Stationery such as pens, pencils, eraser and notebook.
• Note: No Singlets can be worn to any of the classes
