This Career Taster gives students hands on exposure to animal, plant and applied science pathways. Students will explore domestic animal care, native wildlife, anatomy and science based activities, gaining insight into nature focused careers and real world applications.
This Career Taster gives students hands on exposure to construction trades such as carpentry, plumbing, cabinet making and landscaping. Students will take part in practical activities and trade based tasks, gaining insight into real construction environments and pathways.
This Career Taster gives students hands‑on exposure to electrical and engineering concepts, including basic electrical principles, tools, safety practices, and workshop activities. Students will engage in practical tasks to gain insight into technical careers and industry‑aligned environments within the electrical and engineering field.

This Career Taster gives students hands on exposure to the automotive industry across light vehicles, heavy and commercial vehicles, hybrid and electric systems, and vehicle engineering. Students will explore practical tasks and tools used in real workshops, helping them build confidence and understand future automotive pathways.
This Career Taster gives students hands on exposure to IT and digital business pathways including cyber security, programming, networking, cloud, digital graphic design and screen and media. Students will explore practical digital skills and technologies shaping modern workplaces and future careers. Thu or Fri 8am–4pm 8 weeks 10

This Career Taster gives students hands on exposure to hospitality and tourism including cookery, events, front of house and travel. Students will take part in practical service based activities, gaining insight into customer focused careers and industry environments.
This Career Taster gives students hands‑on exposure to personal services including hairdressing and barbering, beauty, spas and massage, make‑up and nails, as well as fitness and wellness. Students will participate in practical, skill‑based activities, gaining insight into client‑focused careers and real‑world service environments.
This Career Taster gives students hands on exposure to health and community services including nursing, aged care, disability, community services and early childhood. Students will engage in practical activities focused on care, communication and support, helping them explore people focused career pathways.
Career Taster Program
Career Taster Programs offer non accredited hands on experiences across a range of industries to help students explore their interests before committing to a formal course. Career Taster Programs are free for eligible students and fully funded by the Queensland Government. Participating won’t affect your eligibility for other government funding.
