Kae Tempest (he/him) was born in London in 1985 and is one of Britain’s most exciting and vital poetic voices. Tempest is a poet, playwright, musician and spoken-word performer. He released his first book of poetry in 2013 followed by Brand New Ancients, which was “written to be read aloud”. It was first co-produced by Battersea Arts Centre. Tempest became the first person under 40 to win the Ted Hughes Award for this work.
