A Car Story...

• 1972 Dodge Charger Rally

In June of 1972 my parents ordered a banana yellow 1972 Dodge Ch arger from the plant in Detroit. We fle w to Detroit to pick up the car and to tou r the plant, but it was closed so we didn ’t get our

tour. We drove our new Ch arger out to California where we lived at the time. I learned to drive in that car and I took it to my Senior Prom in 1975. In 1993 my husband re-built the motor and trani. In 1994 we moved to Montana and brought the car. Two of our childre n took that car to their Sen ior Proms in Arlee (in 1996 and 1998.) We just got our 1972 Dodge Charger bac k from a full restoration done by Graveyard Carz in Spr ingfield, Oregon. We were on their show on the Velocity channel in season 3, and the “reveal” was in sea son 4. It is called the “Top Banana” or the “W altons” if you look for it.

We are excited to get it out and show it off, and this summer you will see it aro und at the car shows. Our banana yellow 1972 Dodge Charger has been in our family for nearly 43 years and that is where she will stay.
