ARTIST BIO David Dunleavy is best known for his dynamic fishing and watersports t-shirt designs. David Dunleavy performance fishing & watersports apparel is distributed worldwide to thousands of fisherman, captains, boaters, kayakers, scuba divers, snorkelers, dive-masters, spear-fisherman and ocean lovers. Dunleavy’s passion from an early age has always been the ocean, as you can see, he’s exactly like you! David’s been fishing, diving, boating, exploring and creating SeaLife Art since the age of five.

Dunleavy is also well known for his SeaLife Murals - Art In Public Places Project is a monumental series of life-sized and larger than life murals that span along the Eastern Seaboard, the Bahamas Islands, and on the continent of Australia. It is estimated that over 500 million people a year view the SeaLife Murals. Dunleavy’s goal is to paint SeaLife Murals around the world to encourage people to help protect our ocean and planet for future generations.

Today - Dunleavy’s art work is sought by thousands of collectors worldwide and he works in several mediums – acrylics, oils, watercolors, graphics and apparel designs. He has many diverse styles from SeaLife, tropical landscapes to modern art. Dunleavy has successfully pioneered an innovative movement called “Primal Art.” Inspired by the etchings of prehistoric man, he uses elements of nature and pure pigments to create these distinctive fine art pieces.

I grew up just outside of New York City. It wasn’t until I was in 7th grade that I truly became a fisherman. My buddies and I decided to fish a trout tournament, which started at 7 am. We were at our fishing spot by 4:30 am. From that day on I knew that fishing wasn’t just a hobby for me. I began fishing for freshwater bass at local lakes. During the summers, my family and I would come to Margate, NJ every weekend.

It was then that I would spend those days flounder fishing on party boats, and with my father and brother while the rest of my family went to the beach. It always felt great coming home with fresh fish and even greater when winning the pool. A few years ago I began striper
