National Reconciliation Week In This Issue: National Reconciliation Week World Enviroment Day
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) was celebrated at Tabor Adelaide on the 20th to the 24th of May. NRW commemorates three significant milestones in the journey to reconciliation, the anniversaries of the successful 1967 referendum, the High Court Mabo decision and Kevin Rudd’s apology to the stolen generation.

This year’s theme was, ‘Let’s Talk Recognition’ focusing on promoting unity and how Australian’s can better recognise one another’s cultural background.

On Thursday the 23rd of May, Tabor Adelaide held a special Chapel Service and a free lunch featuring an open fire, marshmallow toasting, kangaroo and beef sausages with lemon myrtle tea. It was a day to reflect on the importance of recognition and the impact it has on the Indigenous population. Overall, NRW at Tabor Adelaide was a great opportunity to reflect on the significant contributions made by all Australians in our community.
