GIFT GUIDE

TREATS FOR THE HOWL-IDAY SEASON

By Sophia Anderson

Santa “Claws” is arriving soon, and we don’t want him to miss our furry sidekicks! Switch things up from the annual doggie bed or new bag of treats — instead, indulge in unique gifts for your pet or even yourself. We’ve corralled five ways to embrace your four-legged friends this winter season.

Hyla F.

This adorable shop offers embroidered decorative pillows and home goods featuring your pet’s likeness. Each piece is custom-designed and produced using all-natural fabrics in owner Hyla Frank’s Los Angeles studio. Add up to three pets on an 18-inch pillow ($190 - $310), choosing from white, black or dark rust linen. These pillows are a beautiful memento for pet owners who have lost their pet and want a physical reminder of their beloved friend. The intricate embroidery requires a two-week lead time, so get your orders in early to receive your personalized pillow in time for the holidays. hylaf.com | IG: @hyla_f

Frosted Faces Foundation

Become a foster parent to a new furry friend, helping this nonprofit in its effort to facilitate the medical and behavioral rehabilitation and adoption of senior cats and dogs. Backed by its motto, “to love is to act,” the Frosted Faces Foundation (FFF) cares for senior animals and attempts to find them caring homes before they pass. Foster families enrich the lives of Frosted Faces animals until they find a forever home; once adopted, the organization covers lifelong medical expenses through the FFF Veterinary Hospital. The foundation provides a deeply touching opportunity to care for animals that will make you and your pet all warm and fuzzy, inside and out. frostedfacesfoundation.org | IG: @frostedfaces

Pet Lingo

Pet Lingo is the one-stop spot for pampering your pups. It takes the hassle out of grooming by offering pre-booked sessions for members or the option to wash and groom your own pet in a private room — without having to do any of the clean-up. Pet Lingo offers yearly or lifetime memberships that earn you one grooming session per month and a 10 percent discount on products. Want to celebrate your pooch? Pet Lingo sells party treats and supplies, including dog-friendly drinks (check out the Good Boy Dog Beer), decorated baked goods, party hats and bandanas. You can customize cupcakes and cookies and pick up a toy grab bag to reward your pup on their special day. petlingo.com | IG: @thepetlingo
