Welcome to WLB, Whenever we have an event at WLB, Nancy and I tend to take it as a compliment from those in attendance. To us it means you have directed your trust in our direction and for that we are truly grateful. We will do our best not to let you down. Our bull sale continues to evolve having started out with just a few bulls being offered and the sale held outside. We were blessed with good weather on all but one of those years. We had excellent weather one year but woke up the next morning to six inches of snow on the ground. The addition to our barn last year was a warm welcome to our repeat bull buyers. We thank you all for sticking with us and being an important part of it all. We will do our best to make your visit more comfortable from now on. The addition of the Good Time bull to our program has further strengthened our ability to offer breeding bulls that possess both calving ease and performance. We all know more live calves and more lbs per calf add up to more money in your pocket. Our Hereford bull line up has never been more uniform in type and quality. Herefords are now being recognized for the increased profit potential they offer through crossbreeding and the many benefits given to F1 feeder steers and replacement females through the effects of heterosis. They cross well with any breed. If you are taking the time to read this then we hope you will consider it as your personal invite to be with us on March 27, 2012. Be sure to read the sale information to the right . If you have any questions please contact us. If you need someone to act upon your behalf you are invited to give Wilf Davis a call. He has worked with many producers over the years helping them find the right bull for their program. He will tell it like it is. Our bull sale will be held using a video format with the bulls penned just outside the heated sale barn. Feel free to come and have a look at the bulls anytime prior to sale day. Plan now to join us for lunch and the sale on Tuesday, March 27. Bill & Nancy Biglieni

National Champion by Fresh

We refer to Fresh as one of the best kept secrets at WLB. Fresh has sired a Canadian National Champion and two Reserve National Champions. He’s been a birth weight trait leader for a number of years. His daughters are one of the top producing sire groups at WLB. A higher percentage of Fresh sons have made our bull pen over the years than any other sire group except for Global and Formula. After nine years Fresh remains a very strong contributor to our program. 115Y should be a strong maternal sire with the combination of Fresh and his goggle eyed World Class mother. 115Y is short marked, goggle eyed, very attractive and bred to work. He will be easy to find.

Born small and born hungry and look at him now! His two year old redeyed Global dam was an attentive mother and certainly proved she has what it takes to make a difference. 88Y is thick made, square based, proud in his stature, moderate in his frame, and easy to look at. He’s likeable no matter which side or corner you come toward him. He’s more than just a heifer bull. Imagine if you had a pen of bulls with his build and stats. With today’s calf prices owning a pen of steers with his depth, thickness, and performance would be so sweet!

You will be getting a true breeding bull here! No show, no glitter, just a lot of good bull about him. He’s full of muscle and masculinity. Not an ounce of prissy about him! 103Y is deep in his flank and long in his side. He’s a power bull. While 103Y has a moderate birth weight and is very smooth in his build and muscle he is also a strong boned individual therefore we recommend you buy him for your cowherd and proceed cautiously if using him on heifers.

Good Time and Oil Patch have really clicked here. This moderate birth weight bull is big hipped, deep middled, loose hided. He has a great hair coat, and is very nice fronted. You can see more of the productive goodness of the Eve 352N cow family by looking at lots 27,and 28. They are closely related and equally qualified to be a “big picture” bull in this catalog. There is lots to like in this super neat herd bull. He’s got the rear end, rib shape, and testicular development to move a program ahead big time. His pedigree is power packed. On the bottom you’ll find a full brother to Red Teddy, Wheatland’s 902J cow as well as a full sister to the dam of Labatte”s Black Label bull. His mother is a maternal brother to Lot 26. He’s moderate in frame and built solid.

He’s also very likeable for his type. His black mother is an ideal beef cow. She’s an easy keeper, good milker, and like her son, a joy to work with. 373Y brings a lot of good things together all in a single package. 373Y definitely has the potential to produce top end progeny.

With the calf prices where they are and the prospect of replacement females demanding a premium over the coming years, a long spined bull like this can make someone a lot of money. With the cows and bulls in his pedigree you know he’s going to add milk to his daughters and pounds to his sons. 368Y is homo polled and homo black.

Maternal brother sold in 2010 to Doug Wyett, Kisbey, SK His Powercat Grandmother is one of our favorite red cows. We have kept a number of daughters out of her. It looks like her maternal abilities have been handed down to the next generation as our lead off Red bull, Lot 37, is out of a maternal sister to 382Y. His sire adds the Ellie May 30R cow to the mix to further strengthen his maternal power. When you see this guy you’ll agree he’s stout made but not big jointed, deep ribbed and sound to the ground.. He’ll work on heifers but has the backing to give you darn good replacement females not to mention super good sons.

I’ve already talked highly of the cow family behind this thick, meaty herd bull on lot 35 bull. He’s a maternal brother to Holly 382U. If you are looking for that “changer bull” with real cow power behind him, then here you go! This guy is low to the ground and full of red meat. We have a number of Hurricane daughters in production and have mated them to a number of bulls and liked what we got, but I have to say the Red Bull/Hurricane combination is the best yet. A 3/4 sister to 399Y was among the high selling lots at the Shades of the Prairies Sale . 399Y’s type and genetics can compliment a lot of red cows around the country. His homozygous polled status further adds to his long list of assets.
