elcome to The EXCELlence Sale, our first production sale. Hard to believe we started this journey in 1986 with the purchase of 10 percentage females from Pembina Limousin. We sold our first bulls in the spring of 1988 and spent the next summers attending numerous cattle shows. We also attended several sales and selected females from herds throughout Canada; in doing so, our herd has grown to 170 breeding females today which we raise on 720 acres of rich black soil. Now, 28 years later, we are confidently offering a strong group of females, which will perform and be profitable in any program. We love the cattle industry and have such pride in our program and the Limousin breed. Excel is a family run operation and we are very proud of everyone’s involvement. Cody and Amy, along with their son Lincoln are a part of the day to day activities and farming operation. Trevor and his wife, Lauren live in Michigan where the use of internet has allowed him to provide input into bull selection. Kate lives in Airdrie and spent this past spring on the farm to assist with calving. The cattle market is the best we have seen in our lifetime and now is a great time for beef producers to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase the quality genetics we are offering. These females are right from the heart of our program and represent our proven cow families. The sale cattle consist of many different bloodlines from industry leading AI sires, sires from other top programs, as well as our own Excel genetics. Bulls have been chosen based on specific EPD’s and by doing this, we produce polled cattle with strong maternal traits, performance, calving ease and docility. At last year’s National show at Farmfair, we were so proud to have had our genetics represented in more than half the show strings; proof that our genetics are already working for others in the industry. Axel Rose is likely the best bull we have ever had walk on our farm. He has tremendous muscle pattern, a wide top and a big foot. His dam is also one of our favorites; she is long, deep and really smooth in her makeup. Axel’s sire needs no introduction; Xtractor is one of a kind when we are talking about classic Limousin muscle and correct makeup. We have great confidence this bull is going to put a charge into the Limousin breed.

These embryos we have to offer are a real delight. Out of the elite Excel Polled Raspberry cow, who has produced elite progeny crossed with the Xtractor bull, known for his classic muscle shape. We have calved out these embryos ourselves and the calves are deep, long, with excellent shape from front to back and they are going to create elite curve bending cattle. Terms

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneerâ€™s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Certificate of Registration

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Limousin Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Health

All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements. Cows and bred heifers have been vaccinated with Vista 5 and Scour Bos 4. Heifer calves have been vaccinated with Vista Once & Vision 8. All animals have been vaccinated with Ivomec.

Guarantee

Each animal becomes the purchaserâ€™s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Limousin Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

Pregnancy Information

All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur.
