Welcome to the 28th Annual Sunny Valley Bull & Female Sale. We would like to thank everyone that

has supported and shown interest in our program over this last year. It was a tremendous year and we really appreciate everyone who has placed confidence in our cattle.

The 2018 offering is as strong and exciting as ever! Our program is very diverse, consisting of red, black and fullblood cattle. This allows us to offer bulls for everyone’s needs. There are quality bulls in each category that will sell in everyone’s price range. We believe in quality over quantity and while our cowherd continues to grow the number of bulls that we choose to market does not. The 2018 offering was selected from our cowherd of nearly 200 females, with this mentality it ensures that we will continue to offer a better set of bulls year after year. The female offering is hands down the best to date! Be sure to check out these exciting young females.

Sunny Valley is a family operation. Our passion for the Simmental breed runs three generations deep.

Shortly after the bull sale last year our 4th generation arrived, Dax Howard Noble Libke came into this world on March 18. He has brought so much joy to our lives and is a very busy boy! He seems to be a cattleman in the making as he loves his toy cows and word of choice these days is ‘bull’. The future looks bright here at Sunny Valley!

On April 17, 2017 Amanda’s husband Kyle lost his battle with cancer. He remained strong through it all, always with a smile. Kyle was a large part of things here at Sunny Valley. He enjoyed doing chores, processing cattle a especially calving time. His easy going manner and calm demeanor were and d nitely an asset when working cattle. Kyle could talk cattle for hours. He defi lo arranging a deal. Whether it was purchasing an animal or arranging loved w one of his friends to implant some embryos for him. Kyle was one of the with g ones. In the few short years he was with us here at Sunny Valley he had good a great influence on us all. We miss him a lot.

Delivery Options: Option 1 - $50 off per lot if picked up sale day Option 2 - Free delivery to central points in Saskatchewan, Alberta & Manitoba as soon as possible after the sale, at the seller’s convenience. In most cases we will be able to delivery directly to your yard, but do ask for your cooperation if needed.

Option 3 - Bulls may be left at the farm free of charge until April 15, then picked up or delivery arrangements can be made. All bulls returning to the farm must be insured.

Semen Collection: Sunny Valley reserves the right to collect semen on any bull in the sale for in herd use only.

Semen will be collected at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.

Health & Fertility: All bulls will be semen tested and sell fully guaranteed. Bulls and females are on a full vaccination program that includes. Inforce 3 (at birth), Pyramid 4 with Presponse (spring & fall), Tasvax 8 (spring & fall), Ivomec (Oct & Jan). Bulls are also double vaccinated with fusoguard for footrot.

US Buyers: Sunny Valley will do the necessary health testing at cost for bulls and females. Delivery will be provided to the border.

The passion that the Libke family has for Simmental cattle is amongst the strongest within the breed. We welcome you to attend their 28th annual sale where we feel they continually increase the quality year in and year out. They thrive on producing high quality genetics for the most progressive of cattleman whether it be the purebred or commercial sector.

The cow herd behind this set of sale cattle are true working cows built on maternal strength of sound structure, strong udder and high performing females that pay their way.

In this year’s sale, there are feature bulls in each the red, black and fullblood divisions that are backed by a deep offering where you have many options. We feel there are a few particular individuals on offer that are amongst the very best within the industry and will have a huge impact on the breed. As always, they also have a strong group of females on offer selected from the heart of their program.

As the Sunny Valley program will continually progress, we will always reflect back and mourn the loss of our close friend Kyle. He was an important part of their program and was an active promoter looking to make the next deal to advance genetics. He will forever be missed and his legacy will continue to live on through his and Amanda’s genetics, especially his beloved 37U donor.

He is a bull with plenty of length and performance all put together in an easy to look a package. His dam is from the Becky cow family and is one of our best fleckvieh cows. She has a very good udder with plenty of milk. This is the third bull in a row for her in the sale. Logan Fisher has one as well as Bar L Simmentals/Libke Ranch. 67E’s sire was used to add some performance to our calving ease cows and he has done just that. We are looking forward more of this calves this year.

Just a March 26 bull, 791E does not look out of place in a pen of January bulls. He is a super deep, mellow bull with loads of hair. We really like this blaze faced Blueprint son, whose mother is an exceptional uddered female. He may be a bit younger than his pen mates but don’t overlook 791E, he will be highly maternal and you will want to keep every daughter.

Everst has been one of our favorites right from the start. He is a thick topped, deep sided beef bull. The Red Whiskey sons were very popular in last year’s sales and bulls like Everst are the reason why.

When people would tour our pastures last summer they couldn’t help but notice Everst alongside his huge ribbed great uddered mother. She is a Red Ace cow that has produced top bulls before. In 2016 she produced a Royal Red son that sold to Kuntz Simmentals and last year a Bodacious son to Springwater Farms.

701E was the first Walk This Way calf to hit the ground and only added to the excitement of the next 30 to come. Walk This Way gave us 2/3 heifer calves and his females are equally as impressive as his bulls. His first daughter was Junior Calf Champion at Agribition and was sold at Friday Night Lights this past December for $32,000. That heifer calf is a ¾ sib to 701E, she was out of 18Z, 701E’s granddam. 701E himself is extremely hairy, smooth made and with his moderate 83 lb birth weight, he has calving ease potential. Walk This Way has worked absolutely awesome on our Captain Morgan daughters. To say we are happy with his first calf crop would be an understatement. 719E is a big topped, heavy muscled bull with a great big foot under him. He comes with a moderate 86 lb birth weight and also has calving ease potential. We just love the hair on the Walk This Way progeny.

719E’s mother is a moderate framed Captain Morgan daughter whose first calf was an awesome Reload daughter that sold to McMillen Ranching last fall. 401B has a full brother to 719E on the ground this year who looks great.

He has an exceptional mother, 52X has produced the good ones before, her Super Duty son commanded $25,000 a couple years ago to Scissors Creek and Diamond M and has bred tremendous for both operations. One of our favorite ‘D’ heifers to calve this winter is a Whiskey daughter of 52X. 773E has a lot to offer the industry in terms of maternal strength and performance. The Satin cow family continues to grow and 21Z has been the most productive member of it. We have retained several of her daughters and her sons have sold to Rodney Reidt, Maxwell Simmentals, Bob & Ryan Heather, BCS Farms, Double G Simmentals and Circle G Simmentals.

Detroit 32W was acquired in the fall of 2015 as a lead off and high selling cow from the Spring Creek Female sale. After producing a top Olympian heifer calf we decided to flush her to our new herdsire, Walk This Way. This mating really clicked, we have these two awesome sons, four impressive daughters and more on the way. 32W brings a little different twist in pedigree and Walk This Way has complimented her nicely. 771E is powerful and if you sell your calves by the pound, you will want to find him sale day. He has been at the top of the pack for both weaning and yearling weights. He also comes with that sought after blaze face. 734E isn’t quite as powerful as his brother but is cut from the same cloth, with a little extra hair and middle. Both bulls will add performance and maternal strength.

The draw will be made at the SSA annual general meeting in July and the lucky winner will have one year to use the credit at any public auction or private sale on bulls or females purchased from any current Saskatchewan member.

Terms & Conditions TERMS – The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Sunny Valley Simmental reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Sunny Valley Simmental reserveS full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.

Sunny Valley Simmental and sales staff have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and who has not made prior credit arrangements, prior to the sale with Sunny Valley Simmental.

BID-Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

DISPUTES- In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK- Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY- The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after the settlement has been made.

SHIPPING- Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Seller. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

GUARANTEE- All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the Canadian Simmental Association. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchased price of the animal.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE – In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to the Canadian Simmental Association Guarantee but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze.

HEALTH – All animals will have passed the required tests as determined by Agriculture Canada at sale location. It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state.

ACCIDENTS- Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the consignors or any Sales Staff or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS – The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

PICTURES- By attending our sale you are giving your consent for your picture to be taken and used for promotional or advertising purposes only by Sunny Valley Simmental. If you wish to not have your picture used please advise us in writing immediately after the sale.
