It’s with great pleasure and excitement to welcome you to our family’s 22nd annual bull sale. We say it every year but it’s crazy how fast time goes and here we are again. No matter how long the days or hard work farmers and ranchers put in we have sure enjoyed the journey and the friendships built along the way. Friends, family and customers thank you! Without your support and dedication to our program none of this would ever been possible.
Within the last year the cattle market has reached new levels and the excitement continues to build. Hats off to everyone that has stuck with it and put in the time. Everyone definitely deserves it. The cattle numbers across North America still remain low and there is no sign of a rebuilding phase beginning. It’s the perfect time to surround yourself with good people, utilize the best genetics you can find and capitalize on supplying the world with the safest and healthiest protein source available worldwide.
We are a family run operation that takes great pride in what we do each and every day around the ranch. It’s because of our customers and support team that has allowed our program to reach milestones over the last 35 years. Our program never shifted with fads or flavours over the years. We have always listened to what the commercial cattlemen ask for. Cattle that have modest birthweights, acceptable performance, structural correctness and eye appealing to look at. Keeping these traits in mind we feel our product can work in many different environments and sectors of the industry.
Over the last 4 decades we have worked relentlessly to build the best possible cowherd we can with 99.9% of these females being born and raised on the ranch. Starting at the surface with good feet, strong udders, fertility and fleshing ability. When you flip through the catalogue I hope you can appreciate the generations of the ‘LER’ prefix that have been bred into these cattle. Our entire living is based upon our cows. When you buy a bull from us you’re not just buying the bull, you’re buying the program and customer service that comes with it.
The last couple of years showing cattle have been very memorable for us. This past fall we were blessed to have bred and raised the Supreme Champion Female at Agribtion with Wheatland Mich Lady 2291K and Wheatland True Grit 540N. The year prior in 2024 Wheatland Mich Lady 211H and Wheatland Royal Merchant 4177M were selected as Supreme Champions at Agribition. A feat that has never been accomplished before.
This group of bulls for 2026 is loaded from front to back with something for everyone. A lot of different types for everyone to choose from. We will feature some new sire groups that are exclusive to Wheatland. Whether you are looking for Simmental, Angus or percentage bulls we have something for anyone ranging in all budgets. We like athletic bulls that are ready to breed cows and cover ground. These bulls have been developed on oats, corn and beet pulp along with free choice chopped hay and mineral. We try to develop them the best we possibly can. We know buying a bull is a big investment and we want them to work.
New to the sale this year and for the first time in 35 years we are offering the elite females of our 2025 born heifer calves and we couldn’t be more excited to show you what we have in store. This was not an easy decision and many of you that know us know how crucial it was to keep these top end females when building a cowherd. These heifers are flat awesome and each of them have their own story. It will be a bit tough watching them leave after the sale but we can assure you we have offered the very best and feel the ROI will be huge.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 22nd Annual Wheatland Cattle Company Bull Sale — and new this year, the addition of a select female offering — hosted by the Lafrentz family. Vern, Denise, Riley and Madison are truly some of the most downto-earth and dedicated breeders you will find anywhere. Their lives revolve around an unmatched cow herd and the relentless pursuit of producing cattle that work in the real world.
This year’s sale comes at a new, earlier date of March 10th, and if history is any indication, it will once again be a highlight of the spring bull sale season. The previous 21 sales have built a reputation for quality, consistency, and cattle that go on to make a difference — and this year will be no exception. In fact, this is one of the largest and most consistent offerings Wheatland has ever assembled.
As always, the catalogue opens with the Simmental section — a program that has produced numerous record-selling, breedchanging individuals over the years. This year’s Lot 1 bull has Riley as fired up as I have ever seen him, and for very good reason. That said, the highlight reel doesn’t stop there. Several elite individuals follow, including the calf at side of the 2025 Agribition Supreme Champion Female, a testament to the depth and quality of this cow herd. The red pen is loaded with stout, hairy, true “Wheatland-type” bulls that are built to go to work and make an impact. These bulls will add muscle, performance, and eye appeal to both purebred and commercial programs alike.
The Angus offering is the most powerful to date, but what impressed me most this year is the overall consistency. The number of quality half-brothers on offer gives buyers a tremendous opportunity to inject uniformity and predictability into their calf crops.
The thing everyone is talking about this year, however, is that Vern and Denise have agreed to open the vault and offer a very select group of females. Since the beginning, when Vern and Denise moved down into the valley and started something

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.
BIDDING: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder... no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes – Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.
BREEDER’S GUARANTEE: Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.
EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association and the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.
PEDIGREE ESTIMATES: Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.
LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may, in exceptional cases, be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
PHONE, MAIL, WIRE BIDS: Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.
DELIVERY: We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
INSURANCE: Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
