BULL AND SELECT FEMALE SALE

WITH GUEST 3RD DEGREE ANGUS

MARCH 4, 2026 || 1:00 PM AT THE FARM, YORKTON, SK

Welcome to our annual bull and female sale. We would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday, March 4th for our live sale with guests Third Degree Angus. Our family operates a mixed grain and cow-calf operation just four miles west of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Like many farms, our program has been shaped over time by experience and a clear understanding of what works in real-world conditions.

We calve approximately 250 commercial cows each year, and everything we do starts with the cow herd. We believe great cattle are built over time by selecting females that are fertile, sound, easy fleshing, and built to last. Our breeding philosophy is straightforward: raise cattle that perform in the pasture, not just on paper. We focus on calving ease, fertility, performance, and longevity, while maintaining cattle that are manageable and adaptable. These priorities guide both our natural service and embryo programs, with many of the bulls in this sale tracing back to proven females that have earned their place in our herd. This year’s offering includes 1 proven herd bull, 14 yearling bulls, 2 twoyear-old bulls, and 6 elite heifer calves, selected to represent the maternal strength behind our program. In addition, we are offering 30–35 commercial replacement heifers from our own herd which is the same kind we keep and develop for long-term productivity. While our offering may be modest in size, it is built on consistency and cattle that hold up over time. We understand what it takes to breed, calve, and feed cattle efficiently, and our goal is to provide bulls and females that add value without adding extra work.

We invite you to check out the offering, visit the farm or give Jonathan a call. We appreciate your interest and look forward to visiting with you about cattle and how we can support your operation.

Welcome to the Second Annual 4G Grunert Livestock Bull and Female Sale

And the first live sale hosted right at the Grunert farm. We’re proud to be a part of this next chapter and excited to welcome you on sale day.

Jonathan Grunert has been immersed in the livestock business his entire life. From an early age, he worked alongside his father, who raised purebred Charolais cattle and built a highly successful annual bull sale. When his father retired, Jonathan shifted his focus to developing a large commercial cow herd, where he quickly established a reputation for producing calves that consistently rise to the top of the market—a standard he continues to meet and exceed today. Yet, even while excelling on the commercial side, Jonathan never lost his passion for the seedstock business. What began as the purchase of a few embryos and a couple of donor females—simply to strengthen his own bull battery— has grown into something much bigger. Through discipline, vision, and relentless attention to detail, 4G Grunert Livestock has reached a point where the results of those efforts can now be confidently shared with you.

Jonathan has become a true student of Angus genetics, sourcing embryos and donor females from leading programs across North America. His focus has remained unwavering: performance and maternal excellence. As the purebred numbers continue to grow, the quality has only intensified—and the cattle in the pages that follow are proof of that commitment. This is a phenomenal offering of both bulls and females.

Joining the Grunert offering is guest consignor 3rd Degree Angus, the Tomblin family. They share the same dedication to high-quality, proven genetics. Through extensive travel and visits to some of the most respected Angus herds in North America, they have assembled an impressive donor battery and invested heavily in elite embryo genetics. The consistency and depth of their program is evident throughout their offering.

This sale represents as much genetic value in the Angus breed as you will find anywhere in the country. We invite you to study the cattle, visit the program, and join us with confidence—whether in person or online. Hopefully, you are able to see this offering in person but if you cannot join us, please feel free to reach out to any of the T Bar Team as we would be more than happy to assist you in any way possible.

While phenotype is important, our priority is cattle that are built to work, adapt, and add value in both commercial and purebred operations.

Our embryo program plays a key role in developing our foundation cow herd. We invest in embryos from some of the most prominent and proven cow families to strengthen our program and accelerate genetic progress. The bulls offered in this sale are products of that embryo program, selected from females we believe represent the future of our cow herd. This approach allows us to build consistency, reliability, and maternal strength across our cattle. Through partnerships with like-minded breeders, we continue to refine and strengthen our genetics to ensure our cattle meet the highest standards of functionality and remain competitive within the breed. Our goal is simple: to provide dependable, productive Angus genetics that enhance herd performance and contribute to the long-term success of our customers.
