BULL & FEMALE SALE

It is with tremendous pleasure that we welcome you to our 3rd annual sale. Time sure seems to fly and this year was no exception. We have had an extremely busy fall as we had to replace a calving barn that burnt during harvest, and at the same time we have been expanding our cattle facilities to make our operation more efficient as we grow our herd. I believe there has never been a better time to raise cattle, the demand for beef is ever increasing and the cow herd has not been in expansion mode for a number of years. We are hoping there are many good years yet to come.
As I look at through our offering this year, I am extremely proud of the set of calves we have available. I always have had the mindset that pounds pay, and the big calves sure did pay well this past fall. Our goal here is to produce easy calving, growthy, uniform calves that are wanted by the industry. I believe the offering off of Alpine does exactly that. These calves show off their dad in a big way; length, size, hair, and style all in one package. These boys will make those big steers in the fall that the industry can’t get enough of right now. We have also been expanding our ET program every year as well. Don’t miss out on these ET calves that I think are tremendous as well.
We have transitioned the bulls over to a silage/oats TMR this year to manage their growth a little better and I think it is working well. All the bulls are up to date on their vaccinations and will be ready to service your cows this spring.
Make sure to join us for lunch before the sale, and if there are any questions about our offering, please don’t hesitate to call or stop in at the farm. See you on February 17!

PROGRAM behind Elk Ridge
Welcome to Elk Ridge Farms’ 3rd Annual Sale!
Exciting times in the industry but even more exciting right here at Elk Ridge. Some of the kindest, caring people to deal with, Wade and his family work tirelessly to offer the best possible product they can. This being their 3rd event we can clearly say this is the stoutest offering ever north of Rossburn. The introduction of the first ever offering of Alpine has the chatter. These sons are good, very good and very consistent. 17 of them in a row out of high producing dams will be a sale highlight of the spring. Also top notch sons of Gable, For Sure and calving ease prospects by Bravo make up this pen of bulls. Also new this year are the extra aged bulls that come from the younger group of cows and held for this sale to offer a little diversity and big cowherds. When you’re purchasing bulls these 3 things must come to mind. 1 - the people 2 - the cattle 3 - the customer service. The Bartiw family excel in all three and are constantly striving to have and produce the best possible stock. Just recently to demonstrate their dedication they purchased the last ever flush on the renowned cow Erica 74A for a Canadian Record price. Again as always we are available for your guidance and help with anything regarding the offering as we are very familiar with the seedstock at the Elk Ridge program.
Thank you for your interest - BEN WRIGHT

We are proud of the progeny that Alpine has put in our pen. An easy calving sire with hair, added look, huge middled and stout all while walking around like a cat. He stamps a hind leg in his cattle better than any. His first daughter was a CWA favourite and saw a $32,000 price tag. Alpine had a lot of hype around him and we feel the next 17 sons deliver all the anticipation and noise he’s created .
