JOIN US IN A FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR THE CANADIAN HEREFORD FOUNDATION

ELCOME TO THE Foundation Sale
We strongly believe providing quality development opportunities for our youth will benefit us all. The Foundation is designed to bring together the Hereford breeders of Canada for the purpose of advancing youth development, research, education and more. The Hereford breed has been a leader in junior programs through Bonanza for nearly 50 years and this next step is designed to do even more for both juniors and the NextGen age group. The Foundation was able to send two teams to compete in the Young Breeders Competition at the 2025 World Hereford Conference in the USA. Our teams were great ambassadors for Canada and placed high across all competition categories. The Foundation supported Bonanza 2026 in Quebec with funding to provide a developmental training session for CJHA members. As we look to the future, the Foundation is preparing to support a Canadian delegation of youth to compete at the 2028 World Hereford Conference in the UK, with team selections taking place in late 2027. This was only possible through the support from breeders, sponsors, and proceeds from the National Select Sale.
A special thank you to those who contributed their time, donated auction items, provided sponsorship, and placed bids on the donated items. Your contribution is laying the groundwork for the future of the breed by investing in our youth. ELCOME from the KGF FOUNDATION
The Keith Gilmore Foundation was established in 1987 and named in honour of Keith Gilmore, who served as editor and publisher of The Canadian Hereford Digest for 30 years. It recognizes his significant contributions to the Hereford breed, agricultural journalism, and the Canadian beef cattle industry. To date, the Foundation has awarded over 185 scholarships totaling more than $505,000, including the 2026 awards. The foundation supports youth education and leadership development within Canada’s agricultural community, particularly those connected to the beef and Hereford sectors. It provides scholarships to students pursuing studies in agriculture, veterinary medicine, agricultural journalism, and skilled trades that support the agriculture industry. The scholarship application deadline is June 1 each year. Additional information, including eligibility requirements and application details, can be found on the Keith Gilmore Foundation website.
