Still Meadows Annual Bull Sale by Today's Publishing Inc.

Welcome To The 2nd Annual Still Meadow Bull Sale... Hello and welcome to the Still Meadow 2nd Annual Spring Bull Sale. On behalf of Mr. Ken Ayre and family we want to thank last year’s buyers and bidders at our first sale. It has been quite a challenging winter with adverse weather and limited feed supplies. As always, the resilience of the BC ranchers and cattlemen and women have pulled through. The Still Meadow’s crew have been busy expanding their operation on Sunnybrae Road at Salmon Arm, to be able to run the main herd there through the year. Fall of 2018, the bulls weaning weights were an incredible average of over 740 lbs. actual. They were weaned in September and developed slowly on hay and bull pellet ration until November Then moved to the bull development station at River Ranch Cattle Co. on Patchet Road, south of Merritt, BC. Paul Buker has been doing a great job developing the bulls over the winter and we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to him. Ken’s steadfast approach to raising BC ranch ready bulls is very evident in this group of bulls. Sired by Justamere Mile High, South Dakota, Insight, EXAR Blue Chip, Peak Dot Jump Start, S A V Thrive and Radiance to name a few, have been born easy with a 76 lb. average birth weight and weaned off over 750 lbs. in the fall. Ken’s cow herd traces back to the great Tafika Angus herd of Lumby, BC. These cattle are well known for the power and performance, as well as soundness, agility and finally their ability to raise a great calf, get rebred in a timely fashion and keep themselves in good shape. Still Meadows has spared no expense to offer you a great set of bulls for this great province’s ranchers and farms. As a special addition, Ken has decided to offer five special open registered, replacement females. These are a cross section of Ken’s replacement heifer pen and they are a fine set of Angus females. If you are just starting a new herd or wanting to add a few more diverse genetics, these heifers should peak your interest. Also exciting and charitable, is the donation heifer that Still Meadows has graciously donated to the BC Angus Association. She is a tremendous female and gives us all a chance to have some fun and buy a ticket to win an Angus female. She will be at the sale and we will auction off a few rounds of tickets at the sale. Please contact BC Angus regarding this great opportunity. The bulls will be semen tested before the sale and delivery will be organized at the sale. If you bring your trailer and bring your bull home you will receive $50.00 off each animal purchased. Ken has limited space and feed at the headquarters in Langley and will not be able to take the animals back there without prior arrangements being made. We will do our very best to accommodate any purchasers of sale cattle. Please don’t hesitate to contact anyone of the BC Livestock crew or sale staff. Catalogues will be in your hands beginning of March. Videos will be online on DLMS in early March as well. We realize our fellow ranchers busy schedules, so if you cannot be at the sale please contact us and we will respectfully and professionally handle your sale orders. The time is now to improve your genetics and update your cow herd with these impressive, well bred, high quality Angus bulls and females. See you Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at BC Livestock in Kamloops. Prior viewing of the sale cattle is available at River Ranch Cattle Co. Please contact Paul Buker on his cell to make arrangements at 250-255-7960. Thank you. Sincerely, Jon Fox

A super stout, growthy virgin three-year-old to start this year’s offering off of rugged, ranch raised bulls. This bull will be a very good breeder of all the right traits, super maternal, great footed, sound and well balanced. A real nice addition to anyone’s purebred or commercial bull battery. He was retained an extra year for a back up bull in Ken’s herd sire battery. His pedigree is full of breed leading outcross genetics.

We all know how difficult it can be to find good solid two-year-old bulls in the spring. This group of 12 two-year-old bulls is a very complete, solid set, very similar in their genetic makeup and performance data. If you are looking to add four or five bulls to your bull battery, you have to come to the right sale. This son of Mile High is strong and true just like his sire.

You have to appreciate all the hard work and dedication that has gone into this group of bulls. They are, in person and on paper, a very solid group and we at Still Meadow know they will do a great job for you. We appreciate our past customers and can’t wait to meet our new ones. Our cattle are culled for soundness, docility and performance. If they don’t measure up to be in our herd then we will not sell them in our production sales.

To add some flair and flavor to this year’s sale, we decided to include a select group of fancy females that compliment our very nice set of bulls. These heifers will sell with registration papers and offer a great opportunity to start a new venture or add some thrilling genetics to your Angus operation.

A very nice made, sweet fronted heifer that is very well bred. Combining some proven genetics with future genetics in the Angus business always seems to work well.
