Welcome to the annual South Sask Simmental and Angus Bull Sale, March 12th, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This event combines two main breeds that are an ideal combination for the beef industry combining muscle performance with high maternal values. The Sim/Angus cow is a staple for the rancher, while their male counter parts top auction markets throughout the nation.

The cattle industry is strong and stable after having a terrific fall in the market place. Top quality Simmental and Angus calves have led the market for the past several falls…but the key part of that was the word “quality.” Those who selected quality bulls over the past years have taken advantage of the market surge, in addition to bolstering up the young strength of their cow herd. Now is the time to add fresh, new genetics adding value to your operation! Just down the road at Agribition this past November, most of all the commercial winning pens carried Simmental and Angus influence.

Welcome to the 2018 South Sask Simmental and Angus Bull Sale. We would like to start off by thanking everyone who attended the sale last year, also all the bidders and buyers, your support is greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank the crew from T Bar C as well as the other consigners for making this day possible. Last but not least on the thank you notes we would like to thank our crew that has been there and helped us with the bull sale from day one, from helping clip, picture the bulls and the help on days before the sale and sale day, couldn’t ask for a better Curtis crew. Thanks Carmen, Alex, Courtney, Morgan and Lindsey for all your help over the years. This year we will be offering 30 bulls for sale 22 being red baldies or solid reds and 8 solid blacks and baldies. We are very excited to offer our first set of bulls off our newest herd sire, Wheatland Killswitch. He was the highest selling bull at their sale that year going for $210,000 and we feel he was worth every penny. His calves are by far the best we have raised and are a very consistent group of bulls. They came out with moderate birth weights and have tons of performance. We also couldnt be more happier about the females that we have off him in the replacement pen. They are going to make awesome momma cows and can’t wait for them to start milking. Also we have another strong set of MRL To The Max sons selling as well as bulls off our walking heifer bull Boundary Reggie 3B to add some calving ease with some performance into his calves. This year the bulls were self fed brown oats with free choice of our best hay and minerals. Hetero Polled. We are proud to lead off our annual bull sale with this Kill Switch son. 43E has been a standout from a young age. He came small with a 73 lb. birth weight and a 848 lb. 205 day weight. This bull presents himself like a true herd bull in the pen and will always catch your eye. He is super dark cherry red in colour with a little blaze and an awesome hair coat. A very sound walking bull matches stride for stride every step he takes. He is smooth made and very correct in all aspects. Wide topped, a big square hip on him, long bodied and soggy with good testicle development all in a moderate frame. We are very pleased with the Kill Switch calves we have on offer and can’t wait for the heifers in the replacement pen to start milking. 43E’s dam is a blaze faced, dark cherry red Max daughter that did and awesome job on this guy. She is moderate framed, sound and has an awesome udder under her. She has a full sibling to 43E on her right now that has that look at a young age and we are very excited about him with an 80 lb. birth weight to boot. Smooth made, good haired, wide topped and has good testicle development, all on a good structure. We are very pleased with the first set of Kill Switch sons and can’t get over the growth they possess as well as the easy keeping. 59E’s dam is a moderate framed, good milking Gunner daughter that did an exceptional job on this herd bull.

Homo Polled. If you are looking for a bull to cross on some Charolais cows to get them buckskin calves that top the market year in and year out, 58E is the bull for you. One of the lighter red bulls in the pen but his colour didn’t hurt him when his dam brought him home in the fall and pushed down on the scale. 58E is long bodied, wide topped, deep sided and a typical Kill Switch son. His dam has been an awesome producing female for us putting four females now back in our herd. She is a big volumed cow with a good udder under her and always bring them weighing right up there come weaning time.

We cannot say enough of what Max has done for us over the last few years with selling bulls sired by him and the females that we have retained in the herd off him all with beautiful udders and starting to make their mark. 33E is a typical Max son, deep, soggy, dark cherry red, hairy, big testicles, sound and they just have that herd bull look to them. 33E is wide topped, long bodied, deep flanked and gets out and moves . His dam is a solid black, young producing female in our herd and she did a fantastic job on this herd sire. 33E’s dam has a picture perfect udder under her and we think very highly of this young female.

A lower birth weight, power house of a bull with the money strip. 36E is awesome haired, smooth made, super long bodied, wide topped, big hipped and good moving. He came small and all he did was grow. His dam is turning out to be one of the top end cows at a very young age. She is a moderate black blaze faced, deep bodied, long spined, wide based cow, that is structurally correct, super clean fronted, with a tremendously beautiful udder under her. 36E’s grand dam is one of our top producing cows as she has had several heifers that have all been retained in the herd and are making their mark as top end producing females.

We have retained four daughters off her now, also numerous daughters off her grand dam 16S, who is still producing to date. 7X, yet again, had another heifer calf on her this year and can’t wait to put her Kill Switch heifer calf she has at side in the replacement pen. The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Bidding...

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder...no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

Liabilities...

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. Announcements...

All bulls sold are guaranteed breeders by the owners. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull. Should any bull fail to be an unsatisfactory breeder, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. If you have a problem with your bull please notify us immediately. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the purchase price of the animal.

Exception Guarantee...

In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.

Certificate of Registration...

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association or Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

In-Herd Semen...

The South-Sask consignors reserve the right to collect semen on any bull sold through this sale. The semen collection will be at South-Sask consignor’s expense and the buyer’s convienience. Any semen collected will be for South-Sask consignors in herd use only.

Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

Delivery...

We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. $100 rebate on bulls taken home sale day. Bull must be insured by buyer.

Insurance...

Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
