We have enjoyed meeting and getting to know many of you during the past 35 years of our involvement in the seed stock business and we truly value the many friendships we have made. We are very proud of the group of bulls for sale this year and the quality is as good as it has ever been with something to suit everyone. We believe that SGCC supplies bulls for greater value and once again we offer Simmental and SimmAngus bulls that have been born, bred and raised to be the money-making kind. There are performance as well as calving ease bulls in the offering however our focus remains on targeting what is optimum instead of chasing extremes. For those of you who may not have seen our bulls before, they are developed on a feeding program designed with longevity and breeding your cows in mind, not in over conditioning them. Genetics and maintaining soundness play a larger role in the development of our bulls than the feed truck does. Our bulls are available at home for viewing anytime and we would be most pleased to have you visit with us about them over a cup of coffee. If distance is a problem, give us a call and we will go through the bulls with you. We will gladly represent you through our sight unseen purchase program. Cattle and beef production is our only business and we have been producing bulls for over 30 years; in that time we have learned there is nothing more important than customer service! The Spruce Grove program is the longest running supplier of Simmental genetics in North East Saskatchewan. This provides you with a great opportunity to purchase bulls that have a great deal of predictability. The fact that these bulls are produced by cow families that have been developed for multiple generations means they will produce a consistent uniform calf crop for you to market. Many of you will have purchased bulls from Bruce for many years; his job with the Canadian Simmental Association has taken his time away from the farm. Bruce’s son Matt has stepped up and taken over control of the day to day operations on the farm; the fact that he has grown up along with the development and growth of the cow herd, means things have not missed a beat. You can purchase the SGCC bulls with the same confidence you always have knowing they are backed by the Holmquist family. This year’s sale offering is full of endless potential; the bulls are sound, athletic, thick and full of red meat. They are thick hided hairy bulls that will pass that hide and hair off to their calves, giving you the type that top the market, red or black. The focus of this farm has always been to produce the type of bulls that will go out and work in the commercial industry and will make you the buyer extra money when you market your calves. Terms... The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. Bidding... Each animal will sell to the highest bidder... no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes - Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.
Rights and Obligations... The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected there to are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
Announcements... All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.
Phone, Mail, Wire Bids... Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.
Breeder’s Guarantee... All bulls sold are guaranteed breeders by the owners. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull. Should any bull fail to be an unsatisfactory breeder, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value, or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. If you have a problem with your bull please notify us immediately. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the purchase price of the animal.
Delivery... We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Insurance... Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
Exception Guarantee... In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.
Errors... All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supercede any written material in the catalogue.
Certificate of Registration... Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.
The seller reserves the right to draw semen from any bull in the sale for in-herd use only. The collection will be at the purchaser’s convenience and the seller’s expense.
