Welcome to the annual “Spirit of the North” Bull Sale on April 7th, Spiritwood Stockyards, Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. This event has

been and continues to be the source of quality beef bulls able to cover the cow herds in the Parkland Region of Western Canada. The sale presents three major breeds from three very reputable cow herds… Angus, Charolais and Simmental. Breeds that are the most sought-after in sale barns and feed yards throughout North America. This event can supply all your breeding needs for all types of pastures and terrain. “One-stop” supply depot!

Randy and Carol at Werstroh Farms Ltd. bring to town a powerful set of Simmental bulls, high in performance values and highly maternal. You’re sure to get top of the market replacement females. The bulls are rugged, deep bodied, thick topped with lots of testicles and that much needed hair (especially this past winter). Whether you are a purebred breeder, farmer or commercial rancher, you must see their lineup to appreciate the high degree of quality to select from!

John at Cleveland’s presents the Black Angus portion of the sale. Clevelands Farm has been the supplier of rugged two-year-old Angus bulls over the past decade. These bulls will cover more cows, cover more ground and add uniformity in your calving cycle. For those looking for bulls to add maternal and carcass value without losing performance, check these rugged fellows out.

With Isaac dispersed, Lionel Casavant, Casbar Farms, has become the suppliers of added-value Charolais for the area. Lionel is no stranger to the livestock industry as he began breeding cattle in his early teens. We all know the value of Charolais influence when you sell your calves in the fall, they weigh more than their counterparts and generally sell at the top of the market. Using Charolais is a “no-brainer”.

First of all, we have to say “thank you” to all of our past bidders and buyers and look forward to meeting new customers as well.

Just like in the past sales, we are bringing a great selection of bulls, whether you want black or red, performance or calving ease. We think there will be a bull for everyone.

There are a few changes this year, we want to wish Issac Hildebrand a happy retirement. We want to extend a huge welcome to the Casavant family and look forward to working with you guys.
