WELCOME TO THE 8TH ANNUAL SIZE MATTERS BULL SALE
W
ell Cattle Producers, the cattle pricing bubble has finally burst. We all predicted that it would eventually happen, but no one knew quite when. Since the new year, all classes of cattle have experienced skyrocketing prices, including slaughter cattle, cows and bulls, and all weight divisions in steers and heifers. The nice thing is, everything that needed to happen, did; everything lined up perfectly. This was due to the difference in the U.S. and Canadian dollar, the very low feed grain prices, record high fat cattle prices and, most importantly, the major decline in the world cow herd. These are the main components that I see contributed to this new industry price alignment. For you cattle producers who have persevered through the difficult times, you need to be commended on your love of the business; it was pure devotion that kept people in. I believe the cattle market will remain very lucrative for many years to come, so enjoy the future of the new pricing levels. With the lack of new cattle producers entering into the cow/calf business, the rebuilding process will remain slow. The only immediate expansion that I believe will take place is existing herds slightly growing their cow numbers. The expansion of the North American cow herd won’t happen overnight, so be sure to position yourself and take advantage of the new pricing. An important way to take this position, is to select the proper genetics that will generate premium prices when you sell your cattle. With today’s cattle prices, can you imagine another 100 dollars or more premium per calf you can receive - these numbers are huge! Buying a Charolais bull will certainly provide you with the opportunity and the tools to get the extra weight and price. This is no secret. It has been proven in sale rings throughout North America for decades, “CHAROLAIS X CALVES TOP THE MARKET.” Don’t forget we get paid by the pound in this business and we always will. Be sure to attend the Size Matters Charolais Bull Sale. The Weinbenders and Mangels will provide you with all the tools you need to help you receive the extra pounds in your calves and premium prices that are out there. The Charolais Bulls that are in this sale offering are stout, full of muscle, excellent footed, and have that extra length, emphasizing performance. Buying a Bull from this sale will definitely put you in the right position, in order to take advantage of the future’s cattle profitability. These two Charolais Breeders work very hard in guaranteeing customer satisfaction. The services they provide and the hospitality you will receive are as good as it gets. See you at the sale.

Sliding Hills Charolais Our families would like to invite everyone to the 8th Annual Size Matters Charolais Bull Sale. Your support and interest in our programs has been greatly appreciated. Our family views raising livestock as a long term commitment. We are always trying to improve our cow herd by being selective with the herd bulls we choose. We keep a close eye on over all soundness, fleshing ability and fertility. Keeping accurate records has greatly helped in our herd management. You cannot manage what you don’t measure. The bulls we’ve offered in this sale are from the top end of our program. All bulls have been selected for calving ease, structure and growth. Our focus is to provide productive bulls that will positively impact your operations profitability. Our bulls are up to date with Bovi-Shield Gold FP5, Anthrax and Covexin Plus. They also will receive initial and booster vaccinations of foot rot vaccine prior to the sale. For your convenience, videos of the bulls and their February weights are available on our website at www.slidinghillscharolais.com. We would like to thank our family, friends and sale staff for helping the sale day run smoothly. Special thanks to Craig Scott “The Tough As Nails Photographer,” for showing up ½ hour early on a -37 degree morning to take our pictures and video and still had a smile on his face. Feel free to call or visit the farm before the sale to check out the bulls and their dams. On sale day come early and enjoy a delicious lunch, as always, thanks to all of Lori’s culinary expertise. Kind Regards, Carey, LeeAnn, Sarah, Laura, and Dale Weinbender

On behalf of myself, Laura Weinbender, I would like to give special thanks to Helge and Candace By for their generous sponsorship towards my International Trade Mission to South-East Asia with Global Vision this past summer. CO-OP FEEDS AND SLIDING HILLS CHAROLAIS are proud partners in Nutritional Management for this year’s bull offering to you, our valued Customer. We understand the need for these bulls to go out and work for you; so to ensure that they are capable of doing so, we have designed a feed program that will develop them muscularly, without too much extra condition. These bulls were developed on the Elite Breeder Power Ration, a pelleted bull developer ration containing cooked soya meal that provides excellent by-pass protein with increased digestibility. The EB Power Ration is high in protein, with limited energy, to grow the bulls rather than get them fat, and without the worry of burnout. Kind of like a body builder developing their muscles. These bulls are well muscled and are coming to you in their work clothes with performance and soundness without burnout. We are confident that you will be happy with the results. We feel that a satisfied customer says it all, and that our repeat buyers say it even better. Wishing you all a successful breeding season in 2014. Feel free to call if you have any questions regarding our program. The Weinbenders and Janie Jensen with Co-op Feeds 306.570.1717

Jordan River Charolais Welcome to our 8th Annual Size Matters Bull Sale. It is again a pleasure to work with Carey and LeeAnn to offer you this selection of Bulls. We would like to extend a big Thank You to all past and future customers for showing interest in our programs. It looks as if things are lining up to give us some good years ahead in the beef business. Charolais calves are in demand now and will be in the future. Cross breeding with Charolais gives you hybrid vigor and extra pounds at weaning. At the end of the day good genetics will always pay off. In 2013, our farm celebrated our Century Family Farm Award. We are very proud of this accomplishment. We are also proud of the pen of bulls we have to offer. I hope you take the time to look through the offering. We look forward to seeing you sale day or hearing from you any time. Please give us a call if you have any questions. Our goal is to supply genetics that work for the commercial cattlemen. We aren’t satisfied until our customers are. Glen and Lori

In the summer of 2010, we toured Hunters Charolais. In the North pasture, a bull calf 20X on his tag grabbed my attention. What a Stand Out!! He was already excelling at growth and tremendous muscle expression. When a calf looks like this on milk and grass you know he is a natural genetic power house. 20X is working his way to being our #1 Herd Bull. BW -0.3
