WELCOME TO OUR 36TH ANNUAL BULL SALE!

Good Times are here in the cattle industry! We congratulate the cattlemen who have persevered through a difficult time and are now poised to reap the well-deserved rewards of their dedication. We are currently seeing a very strong yearling and fat market and all indications point to great fall calf prices. Last December our Six Mile and Guests Commercial bred heifer sale was an overwhelming success and we look forward to an even better one in 2011 with the demand for Angus Influenced females at an all time high. We are honoured that you are considering purchasing your next herd sire from Six Mile Ranch. We feel we have one of the strongest bull offering in the country and are dedicated to our customer’s success.

We approach our job as seed stock producers very seriously. From the beginning of the Six Mile Program we have focused on producing the best mother cows we can. We are focused on confirmation, structure, fertility and production in our cow herd. We like our females to be moderate, easy fleshing excellent uddered female with the capacity and natural muscling to do well on the range. As cattle are still sold by the pound, we feel strongly about sparing no expense to bring the best genetic sires into our highly maternal cow herd. An example is our newest Black Angus herd bull, SAV Preference 9184. We paid $70,000 for him as we feel he is the kind of performance sire that will not sacrifice the maternal traits in our herd and will give our customers that extra edge at the auction mart.

Cade, Callie, Corinne, Clayton and Coy Gibson Home: 306-266-4895 Cell: 306-642-8013 Email: sixmile@sasktel.net

We really believe in customer service. We know that we get busy and sometimes do not get a chance to visit with each and every one of our customers but we are working on improving that. We have hired an office manager to improve our administration and to free up more time to spend with our valued customers. We are not happy unless you are happy –plain and simple and we will do everything in our power to make you a satisfied, repeat customer.

Our bulls offer incredible value for your dollar. Last year we saw prices anywhere from $1700 to $17,000 with the majority of the bulls in the $2500 to $3500 price range. These prices make our breed leading genetics fit into anyone’s budget.

We are truly blessed with the greatest customers and friends in the cattle industry. We thank you for your continued support of our program and look forward to serving you for many years to come as we head into a new era in the cattle industry. We sincerely appreciate your confidence in our program. We want you to know that we are always available if you have any comments or concerns about your Six Mile genetics. We look forward to visiting with you soon about your bull buying needs. We will see you on April 9th.

Here at Six Mile we are a family owned and operated program. We are very fortunate that all three of our children enjoy working alongside us on the ranch and it makes the hard work of ranching just a little bit easier. We are also blessed with wonderful help on the ranch. A huge Thank You goes out to Walter and Rosemary Wall and Daryl Leppa for their dedication to Six Mile. We simply could not do it without them. Rae Tutor will be handling our office duties starting in May and we look forward to her expertise. Sebastian Stewart is a friend and former Angus breeder. We purchased many of Sebastian's females when he decided to disperse and have remained in close contact. Sebastian will be working on special assignment for Six Mile during Bull Sale Season. He will be available prior to and during the bull sale to assist customers in making bull buying decisions. Sebastian is a young, knowledgeable and enthusiastic cattleman who is familiar with the Six Mile program. He will be able to give prospective buyers an accurate appraisal of the bulls in the offering when Clayton or Corinne are not available, or if you would like a second opinion. Sebastian will be one of the representatives available on the phone during the bull sale. Home Phone: 250-423-8020 Cell Phone: 250-423-1357

RED SIX MILE SAKIC 832S

Sakic is the heart and soul of our herd and we are very proud to have raised this powerful individual. Sakic has a style and a presence that has made him a stand out since he was about one month old. Sakic is the high selling bull from our 2007 bull sale at $36,000 for half interest and half possession to GENEX. His first son to sell, Red Six Mile Utah 455U, was our high selling bull last year at $37,500 to C- Bar Red Angus, Wedel Red Angus and Westphal Red Angus in the U.S. By the look of his calves it was a great investment. Sakic is the go to sire for moderate birth and above average growth while adding stoutness and muscle capacity. Sakic’s first few daughters calved in 2010 and they looked great and weaned calves with strong indexes. We have a larger group calved out this spring and our predictions are coming true – Sakic’s true claim to fame will be his daughters and their ability to milk and mother big strong calves.

Travelocity just keeps getting better and better every day. This stout top notch herd sire prospect is a full brother to our $11,000 lead off bull last year – Wrangler- who sold to Lone Stone Farms. This ET calf is out of Duchess 739S whose track record is pretty impressive with her first heifer calf bringing $9500. This bull combines calving ease with explosive growth. Travelocity’s impressive phenotype closely resembles that of his breed leading sire, Sakic as he looks to join the ranks of standout sons like Utah and Gretzky.

If you want a herd bull that has unsurpassed cow making potential then look no further. Fifth Gear is a deep bodied, capacity loaded maternal masterpiece. He was our # 1 bull calf at weaning with an index of 136, which is to be expected from his World Angus Forum Champion Dam – Bayberry 256T. Bayberry 256T is a direct daughter of the legendary Indeed. She won every breed show she was shown at as a two year old, including the National Championship at Farmfair and the coveted CWA Grand Champion Female honors. Her first heifer calf sold for $15,000 as a calf at foot to Corner Creek Ranch. Fifth Gear is a performance powerhouse with the backing of a cow family steeped in maternal greatness.

Outlaw is an attractive herd bull that will definitely raise a few hands on sale day. His dam always garners attention in the pasture. She has a tight, solid udder and exhibits nice extension and femininity through her front end. 290X’s maternal sister, Red Six Mile Gloria 746W was crowned Reserve Junior Yearling honors at CWA 2010. Now that she is calved out, she will no doubt be in the hunt for a few banners again next year. Outlaw is one of our highest performing bulls with incredible performance numbers and the maternal merit to go with it. Simply a bull not to be missed.

Gringo is a thick made deep bodied bull with the substance and performance needed in today’s competitive cattle market. We watched this calf alongside his superior dam all summer as she weaned him with an impressive 109 index. He kept going from there indexing even higher at yearling. His solid EPD profile only adds to his credentials, making him one to top your list on sale day.

Our lead off Aviator son is an attractive, smooth made bull who is structured for calving ease. He has achieved a life time index of 110 ranking third for weaning gain amongst his contemporaries. He is backed maternally by the Olivia cow family – an original here at Six Mile. His own dam has been a stellar producer for us since we purchased her out of the TS dispersal. 235X’s maternal brother, Stealth 518U is a $5000 herd bull for the Vancurrens at Sundre, AB. A daughter of 256L is a donor cow for Brylor Ranch and she had raised two stand-out daughters for us at Six Mile.

Lot 10 is a real power packed performance sire with indexes proving his growth potential. Last year a full brother to Avatar sold to Gavelin Farms, SK for $3200. A maternal sister was selected by Jeffries Land and Cattle Co., OK. This is a bull that should have calving ease potential by pedigree with his full brother being born at only 80 lbs.; however, his own birthweight leads us to recommend him only on well grown heifers.

Six Mile - Focused On The Female

We strive to make Sure every Herd Bull Is raised by a Solid Breed Leading Female.

A lot of procducers are known as cattlemen. I prefer to be called a cowman. This is a critically important term because I believe the maternal side of cattle breeding is underrated and essential for profit. What's worse, the industry is set up to evaluate which cattle are best, often and unconsciously, working against the selection of good mothers. Not so at Six Mile." Ken Frazer - 1926 - 2009

stout, solid made sire. You get in behind him and you have to admire his width and dimension. He exhibits great hip shape and unsurpassed capacity. His name comes from the great John Candy movie – Uncle Buck because this bull reminds us of that late, great comedian, in that he is built like a truck but is as docile and easy going as can be. We purchased his sire, Red Triple S Bucc 30U, for $15,000 as the second high selling lot in the Triple S bull sale. His first offering is small but we will have a larger group of calves coming this season and look forward to them with anticipation. Uncle Bucc’s dam has raised two bulls who have both sold in our previous bull sales to Steve Joki, SK and Ken Stull, SK. She also has a daughter that is a first calf heifer in our herd exhibiting a real nice sound udder and great mothering capabilities.

Smasher is another stand out Smash 41N son. This bull has a deep red hair coat and added stretch. His dam is a super producing Indeed daughter whose son sold last year to Jeffries Land and Cattle Co., OK. Smasher is a calving ease candidate with the added benefit of pounds of performance and cow making abilities.

When you attend our 36th bull sale – I guarantee there will be one bull that you will remember and that is Ripped 206X. Ripped has the hair coat, phenotype, muscle pattern, testicular development, and class to really garner attention. His dam raised a $4000 heifer calf that sold to Don Brooks, TX.

Time Flies - Our Little Girl Is Grown Up.

Fully Loaded

Fully Loaded will always be a special bull here at Six Mile. We paid $50,000 for a half interest in this phenomenal yearling bull in the spring of 2006 and he proceeded to do great things for us. As a yearling he bred naturally and still managed to show that fall winning Reserve Grand Champion Bull Honors. His first son for us – Red 6 Mile Full Throttle 171T topped our 2008 sale at $37,500 to Triple L Angus and was leased to GENEX. Three progressive Angus programs - Top Grade Red Angus, Vikse Family Farm and Dennis Bjelland teamed up to buy a half interest in him at the 2007 Red Roundup for $70,000. 2007 was Loaded’s year being named Grand Champion Red Angus Bull at both Farmfair and Agribtion, and topping it off with the grand daddy of all – winning the coveted RBC Beef Supreme Challenge. Loaded stamps all his sons with great hip shape and added stretch as is evident by Lots 28 to 33 in this year’s offering.

We became interested in the progeny of Red VGW Game Plan 508 after touring the Peiper Red Angus herd in Nebraska where we thought his progeny were some of the best. We purchased a son, Red VGW Game Plan 816 as our pick of the Westphal Bull Sale in Montana in the spring of 2009. This is the first offering of Game Plan sons. Game Plan is producing an optimum blend of calving ease, performance and carcass merit. His sons are moderate with nice hip shape and have done well on feed. His progeny show incredible vigor at birth and tend to be a little lighter boned making him a superior calving ease sire. As you can see all our Game Plan progeny are out of first calf heifers. We did not get a big group of calves from him in 2010 but expect more in 2011. Owned with Box X Ranch – Mankota, SK

Gamer is our pick of the Game Plan sons. Born at only 74 lbs. he earned a 111 weaning index alongside his two year old Priceless dam. And that is with only mother’s milk and hard Saskatchewan grass – no creep. On feed he ranked second among his contemporaries to index an incredible 134. This bull really deserves your attention and would have garnered it if we could have ever got him pictured! Oh well come out on April 9th and see for yourself.

Trump 432X is a bull with an outcross pedigree and the performance and confirmation to back it up. This herd sire prospect displays nice shape and dimension of hip and the incredible hair coat that his grandsire is known to produce. His dam is a complete outcross coming from two black parents. She was purchased on our behalf by Gary Anderson when we sent him on assignment to the Rose Hill dispersal. He made some great buys for us that day as many of those cows have risen to the top in our black herd. 3T’s first heifer calf was chosen by Jeffries Land and Cattle Company of Oklahoma when they purchased a large group of Six Mile females last fall. We wish we could have gotten an updated photo of this bull’s sire – Trump Tower - as he is an impressive individual whose progeny are making him more and more valuable every day.

Red Six Mile Minverva 681R - Dam of Lot 60

BUYER/PRICE _________________________ COMMENT _________________________

Intrigue is genetically and maternally charged to become a Great Herd Bull. This well muscled, blood red prospect exhibits good testicular development and a style all of his own. Lot 60 represents the first red calves by our black herd bull, Predominant 135S. As stated on page 24, we were lucky enough to purchase both the black- red Carrier 135S and his red son 77U in the spring of 2009 from the well known Peak Dot herd. Intrigue’s mother, 681R, is an ELITE dam with a weaning index on her first four bull calves of 109. She has sons working for Bluff Creek Ranch and Merles and Joanne Kress. She raised the $16,000 Red Six Mile Unleashed 595U Bull that was purchased by Jesse D Farms, BC. He was named Champion Jr. Yearling Bull at the World Angus Forum but was unfortunately lost prematurely. Selling Full Possession and Half Semen Interest

If you want a bull whose dam is an absolute production machine then you need Lot 62. Red Six Mile Countess 198T is not a big cow in any way but man can she raise power. On her very first calf she weaned 86% of her body weight with Red Six Mile King Ranch 721W coming in at 990 lbs., making him our #1 weaning weight bull. That bull sold for $13,000 in last year’s sale to L83 Ranch, ND. Exclusive 486X ranked #2 at weaning among his contemporaries with another incredible index of 132. He also achieved a nearly 1400 lb. adjusted weaning weight. Make sure you note the later birth date of April 18th on this performance and maternal leader.

Outrider is an outcross prospect with a ton of performance. He ranked #1 among his contemporaries at weaning. This bull has long been a favorite among the Predominant sons and shows great testicular development. Lot 63 had a maternal sister working in our herd.

Redwood

Redwood was purchased on our behalf by our auctioneer, Brent Carey, from the 2009 Brylor Bull Sale. 50U’s mother is an Elite dam and we felt that 50U displayed a lot of the same characteristics as his grandsire, Sequoia 202 that we had admired. Redwood 50U sired mostly bull calves in 2010 and as you will see by this offering, he did a tremendous job of it. His sons exhibit the same strong hip shape and muscular structure as their sire and he also gives most of them that deep red color that the Sequoia’s are known for. Redwood himself has matured into a very impressive individual.

Lot 73 and 74 are April born bulls sired by Red Six Mile Twister 470U. We have a lot of later born bulls on offer this year and that is because of a herd bull issue that we resolved by multiple siring a pasture later in the year. Twister was one of the bulls sent in to resolve the problem. Twister 470U is the bull that we chose to represent the Innovator bloodline in our herd. Due to an accident as a yearling this herd bull developed a permanent twist in his neck – thus the name. His first two sons are young but are definitely performance orientated. Look for more progeny next year out of this calving ease sire.

Our Black Angus program was established in 2005 and is really coming into it’s own. We take great pride in building a Black Angus herd that will rival any in the industry. The Black bull pen is our strongest to date and we could not be more proud of the bulls you will be offered. The next 26 bulls are all solid performance bulls, many with calving ease capabilities. We would be remiss not to take the time to thank our former Black Angus herd manager, Geoff Anderson, for working diligently to make our Black Herd what it is today. Thanks Geoff for your dedication to the Six Mile Program and we look forward to working with you in your new capacity at Bouchard Livestock International.

13X is out of a first calf heifer who did a very impressive job with a wean index of 107. If you have heifers to breed this year – then you need to consider these Bismark sons.

Another heifer bull with exceptional growth. Bismark is a bull who is really making his mark as a calving ease sire.

On Star is a very attractive herd sire prospect with style to burn. This performance leader is backed maternally by a cow that really is an anchor of our program with a son going to Sayers Ranch in our 2009 bull sale and two daughters working in our herd. 62X ranked #4 at weaning and #2 at yearling making him a real powerhouse performer.

Duff Encore is a popular AI sire for good reason and Lot 83 is one of those reasons. Vertex has tons of barrel, presence and style. His dam had been a long time favorite in our herd since we purchased her out of the Rose Hill dispersal.

Knight Rider ranked #1 at weaning amongst our Black Angus bulls earning him a 900 lb. weaning weight with a 135 index. His two year old mother is not a flashy cow but she is made right. 822U would actually blend into the crowd in our herd if it wasn’t for the big, stout bull calf at her side. Upon further examination you would then see that she is a nicely made, moderate cow with a beautiful udder. Knight Rider has been a pen favorite since birth and we are sure he will be one on sale day.

A solid performance, and calving ease son of Peak Dot Predominant 135S

Peak Dot Predominant 135S

Lots 96 to 99 are a strong group of Black Angus bulls that are sired by our Black/ Red Carrier sire - Peak Dot Predominant 135S. In 2009 we sorted out some of our best Red Angus cows and exposed them to this black bull who was known to be a red carrier. As you can see in this catalog we got a lot of red progeny out of those matings, but we also got some black and the next few lots represent that group. All of these lots are mothered by incredibly productive mother cows and will most likely produce all black offspring. However, there is a slight chance you could get a red calf and we have found that is a pretty good thing too!

In January of 2010, Doug and Sheila Benneweis of Southern Comfort Farm in Okotoks, AB were looking for someone to lease their herd of Black Angus cows. Since we already owned a couple red cows together we took them up on their offer and the next three lots represent that group of cows. This is a solid group of mother cows with added size and frame. They are incredibly docile and you can see how well cared for they have been in their lifetime by how easy they are to be around. Lots 100 and 101 are sired by the Supreme Champion Bull at Farmfair 2007 – Remitall H Rachis 21R – a bull that sired some of the very best females offered in the 2010 Black Magic Sale at Olds, AB. Great performance out of these big, rugged herd bulls.

Doug and Sheila Benneweis - Southern Comfort Farm 40

Two Year Old Bulls

We are committed to providing our customers with bulls with a little extra age. We have been building our summer calving program for the last couple years and have moved some of our best cows to this group. In January we weaned the progeny from this group and are extremely impressed with the calves. They will be available next year. The spring of 2010 we heat synchronized the summer calving herd and used the very best genetic sires we have. So our summer calving program is really moving along in a positive way… however you will have to wait until 2012! This year, our two year old offering is limited but includes some really sound prospects that we are very proud of. All of the Extra Age Bull will be Trich Tested prior to sale.

BUYER/PRICE _________________________ COMMENT _________________________

Lot 105 is a square hipped, good performing extra age bull. He is the lone survivor of our 2009 Summer Calving Program and he is sired by Sakic. Most of the other bulls were sired by another bull we purchased whose feet did not hold up in our program. We are very critical about the bulls we offer to our valued customers therefore we steered every single one of those bulls and took them to town.

BUYER/PRICE _________________________ COMMENT _________________________

Every year we keep a few bulls out of our sale to have around in case one of our customers need a bull during the breeding season. Lot 106 is one of those bulls. He is a good doing, long bodied son of our Black Charter bull whose daughters look to be superb.
