Welcome to April: spring, warmer weather, less clothes, happier cattle, positive ranchers and another bull sale! It’s hard to believe this is going to be our 8th April bull sale at Right Cross Ranch! First of all, we’d like to thank every person who has joined us on this journey. We’re proud of how far we’ve come in eight years.

Without the support of our family, neighbors, fellow cattle producers, friends and businesses that we deal with, we would not be where we are today! Our industry is all about the people and there are no better people in the world!

Secondly, we’d like to invite you to Right Cross Ranch on April 15th. There will be a sausage, perogy Ukrainian-inspired meal, donuts, coffee and a sweet group of 40 Angus bulls. We’ve selected these bulls based on structure, dam history, temperament, body style and do-ability. Each year we cull our cow herd for fertility and select only the females and sires that we feel will take our program forward.

With just the two of us as ranch operators it is important that our cows work FOR US! We physically don’t have the man power or time to deal with situations like problem udders, poor mothering ability, bad feet or weak calves. A cow that can raise a calf by herself, without our intervention, is priceless!

Our yearling bulls are fed a balanced total mixed ration composed by our nutritionist, Barry Robinson (Great Northern Livestock Consulting). His recommendation is based on feed samples taken from our supply. We aim to produce a bull that will be strong, muscled, fertile, structurally sound, ready to breed, yet not burnt out! We strongly stand behind our program and our bulls and know the importance of your purchase; customer satisfaction is high on our list!

RIGHT CROSS RANCH NUTRITION:

Right Cross Ranch has a strong focus on nutrition and management for their growing bulls and entire cow herd.

Each ration is balanced based on feed analysis and goals for each set of cattle. The bull rations are formulated with 20% coarse chopped hay to encourage cud chewing, a healthy rumen and longevity. Coarsely rolled barley or corn grain provides energy to optimize growth. Cereal silage and a custom formulated bull supplement rounds out the bull rations. Slow and steady growth is the goal for Right Cross bulls.

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Each animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association, unless otherwise specified. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Health: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

Guarantee: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Angus Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.
