Welcome to the sale...

Welcome everyone to our 4th Annual Prime Plus Bull Sale. What a year it has been in 2020 but it looks like we may be seeing light at the end of the tunnel with COVID-19 vaccinations rolling out, with four vaccines approved for use in Canada. We have to be extremely thankful that during the COVID crisis, that agriculture was deemed an essential service and although there has definitely been an impact, our industry has survived better than most. For our sale, we will be following government protocols and at this time, it looks like we may not be able to host a lunch. I would encourage people that are interested in buying to stop by the farms to view the offerings if at all possible.

We are very excited about what we have to offer this year. We have some older bulls that will be able to cover more cows. In the yearling bulls, we have calving ease and performance. We have lots of bulls with pigment. From the Angus side of things, we are excited to have a new consigner – Chris Moore of Squirrel Creek Angus – bringing us both Red and Black Angus bulls.

As well, Ron Bathos and Jay Rimke will be bringing us some strong Angus two-year-old bulls as usual. We felt we needed to increase the Angus bull numbers in order to offer more selection for buyers. Feel free to contact any of the consignors to discuss your bull needs.

From the Desk at T Bar...

Welcome to the 4th Annual Prime Plus Bull Sale with Replacement Heifers, April 14, 2021 at the Beautiful Plains Ag Complex, Neepawa, Manitoba. The Prime Plus Bull sale is a source and supplier of British breed sires… sires that are necessary for building cow herds with heterosis and identity. The baldie female is the most sought after and popular cow in the pastures of North America and they have one common British base.

The Herefords in Prime Plus are supplied by Doug Troop, the Calvert’s, Mann’s and Stocki’s… leading Polled Hereford herds in Manitoba.

They offer a powerful group of yearling bulls that are similar in phenotype but diverse in genetics. Thick, deep, and rugged, they have lots of that needed hair, docility, and do-ability… standards that the breed is noted for. In addition, several two’s and fall born bulls complete the field… they will cover more ground and bigger cows. Birth weight is an important factor of everyone’s breeding intentions and as you go through the lineup you will find a large part of the offering is “heifer friendly.”

In the Angus portion of the sale, Batho Farms Ltd. offer a stout lineup of March/April born two-year-old’s both red and black. Sound footed, muscled and athletic, these bulls will work in all types of cow herds and all types of terrain covering lots of ground. As a bonus, you will keep all the daughters for replacements.

New for 2021, Chris Moore, Squirrel Creek Angus, also supplies black and red yearling Angus bulls. You will be impressed by their uniformity in body shape and style. They carry unique genetics and awesome low birth weight numbers… ideal for the heifer pastures of Western Canada.

The lineup of Hereford influence commercial replacements is well worth the trip. Females of this quality are hard to find and have years of earning capacity bred in.

Stop by any of these leading breeders and preview their offering in their natural environment… the bulls will be at the sale facility the day prior.
