Welcome to the sale...
I would like to welcome everyone to our annual bull sale. With the year that we have had this past year, it has never been more important to have efficient, easy keeping cattle. I feel the bulls in this sale are the best group that we have ever put together. Whether you will be using them on a cross breeding program or for purebred purposes, we have bulls that will definitely fit your needs. In purchasing a bull here at our sale, you will get really great value for your dollar and the breeders in this sale always stand behind their products. We chose to put this sale together using both Angus and Hereford genetics because they are so complimentary to each other. The baldie cow is the mainstay in many larger ranches in both Canada and the USA and the only way to make a baldie is by crossing Hereford and Angus cattle. We will have some feature baldie heifers in the sale and some straight bred Hereford heifers, as well as our bull offering. Please feel free to contact any of the consignors or TBAR who have seen the bulls. Hope to see you at the sale on April 13 in Neepawa. We will be hosting the sale with any required COVID protocols in place. - Doug Troop, Doug Troop Hereford Ranch
From the Desk at T Bar...
Welcome to the 5th annual Prime Plus Bull and Female Sale, April 13, 2022, at the Beautiful Plains Ag Complex, Neepawa, Manitoba. Prime Plus is the source of British breed sires sourced from the province’s leading seedstock producers… producers with strong maternal cow herds as is evident in the top quality sons that are offered for the 2022 edition. Prime Plus offers Polled Hereford, Red and Black Angus bulls… both yearlings and age-advantaged two’s. We all know the value and advantages of having British influence in a breeding program… loose hided, do-ability, hair, disposition, fertility and rustling ability… sought after traits that are not on paper but found in every pasture. These breeds crossed with continental based sires lead in the market place but we must remind each other of their base. The lineup of bulls is diverse in phenotype and with fresh new era genetics… the yearlings are full of performance and eye appeal and come with optimal birth weights that will suit both heifer and cow pastures; while the two year olds are not picked-over and will cover more cows in larger pastures and rougher terrain. The open replacement heifers offered, baldies and sim/Angus/Hereford crosses will make wonderful replacements for any pasture or program and are an example of the resulting progeny from these breed matings. The national beef cow inventory is at the lowest level we have seen for decades and restocking is just beginning… restocking will require British influence to keep cow herds profitable and efficient. Prime Plus can supply your next sire or two on April 13th… dedicated breeders who are concerned with your bottom line! Feel free to stop by any of the farms and preview their offering and do not hesitate to give any of these breeders a call to discuss their bulls and your requirements. The bulls will be available for viewing at the Complex the day prior the sale. Plan to be with us in Neepawa for your Prime Plus sire whether it be in person, online or on the phone. We have graded the offering and will be pleased to assist you with your selections in a professional and confidential manner.
