Welcome to Welcome to the the sale... sale...
On behalf of the consignors, I would like to welcome everyone to our first Prime Plus Bull Sale and encourage you to come out and see the excellent animals we have to offer. The breeders involved are very committed to make this sale a long-term event. I am excited about working with these breeders. The Greenridge Farms is a long time Hereford family operation running 3 generations. They have been very successful in showing and selling Hereford cattle. The Manns family knows what it takes to run a large commercial operation. They also run a good registered herd and are very excited about the future of their purebred Hereford operation. Ron Batho is from a Hereford background but also has a successful Angus operation. Ron has dedicated his entire life to the cattle industry and brings you some top 2-year old black Angus bulls. I am also excited to see Jay Rimke getting involved, being a breeder of both Hereford and Angus cattle. In a time when many breeders are getting older, it is nice to welcome the energy and enthusiasm Jay brings to the cattle business. The Calverts are relatively new breeders bringing a lot to our group. These guys are good cattlemen and they will be heard from now and in the future. I am Doug Troop and will have raised Hereford cattle for 50 years next year. I am very proud of what I have to offer at this sale. All these breeders stand behind their programs and look forward to meeting you and seeing you at the sale. Please don’t hesitate to phone and ask the breeders any questions you may have. - Doug Troop
From the Desk at T Bar... Welcome to the first Prime Plus Bull Sale on April 11th in Neepawa, Manitoba. On behalf of the five leading breeders, this is your invitation to be with us for this premiere event. The groundwork for the beef cattle industry has been the British breed cow, namely Hereford and Angus. They are the oldest and most experienced breeds which no other breed can duplicate. Since the entire beef cattle industry is driven by cross breeding, this event is designed to supply new industry genetics to strengthen the cowherds of nations. Each breeder involved is experienced, rearing registered seed stock that will improve and add value to their customers bottom line as they are all second-generation families who have seen the evolution of change. Hereford influence has been the basis for adding docility, thick hair coats, rustling ability with feed conversion (after the past couple of months this past winter you can appreciate that) but most importantly, will cross with any breed of beef or dairy strain producing an individual better than itself and more economical to manage. The Angus cow has been dubbed “Queen of the Pasture”. Great mothers with excellent udders, that bring the high maternal factor into any cross and any breed. The Angus influence adds the calving ease factor into a breeding program and efficiency in the feed yard. When mated together, these two breeds put out the best product for the world market. Ideal in frame, great on feed, a dream in the pasture and can be mated to any type of beef bull. The “Baldie” continues to win all-round honors. Prime Plus offers you a great set of bulls…bulls for any type of operation and various budgets, whether you are looking for a Polled Hereford or a Black Angus. In the lineup are power bulls to use on your continental influenced cows, heifer bulls for ease of calving and some that will fit both pastures. The heifers selling will grow into productive brood matrons with longevity whether you are looking for a small package or the whole lot. Plan to be with us for the first Prime Plus and put common sense back into your herd. Feel free to visit any of the farms prior for a preview and don’t hesitate to give any of these breed specialists a call and discuss your sire needs…they love to talk cattle. If we, at T Bar C, may be of any assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to give myself or any of our professional team a call, as we can help you with your needs.

This Twenty Twelve son is the real performance bull of our offering. He was weaned off the cow the last week of October, trailered over to a neighbor’s scale and pressed down at a whopping 994 pounds! Being goggled eyed, big scrotaled and out of a whopping good cow only enhances this guy’s value. His dam was bought from the well-known Medonte Highlands Polled Herefords program of Ontario and she continues to out do herself year after year.

Twenty Twelve was chosen to be one of our AI sires in 2016 because of his performance, dark red color, carcass traits, and cow family. Champ is a bull that is found right away among visitors touring the farm. His extra eye appeal, depth, and stoutness is what gets people zeroed in on him. Champ’s mother has a knack for producing big time bull calves that have gone on to be great herd sires for their owners and this guy may just be her best yet.

When deciding to acquire Powerball semen from WLB in the spring of 2016, we were looking for a reliable calving ease sire that could add some punch to his calves. It’s safe to say Powerstroke is a great example of a calf that came easy at birth off a first calf heifer but still had that punch to develop into a standout herd sire. This performance Powerball son has everything going for him, muscle, length, and sheer volume to name a few.

We can’t say enough about these Powerball sons. The early maturity, libido, and muscle that this sire group has displayed thus far has been a sight to see. A favorite of many and it’s easy to see why with his big square hip and nice turn to his top. Powertrain combines calving ease and performance in a very complete package. What really adds value to Powertrain is his tremendous dam that was bought from the Doug Troop Farm which is known for elite milk and maternal traits.

We purchased Powerking’s mother in the WLB Dispersal Sale because of her proven track record of producing high quality standout offspring that are desired by all kinds of cattlemen. This guy’s brothers have made a big splash in sales previous for WLB and have gone on to do great things for their owners. We think this bull can follow in those footsteps and be a key breeding tool for a producer wanting to tap into an awesome cow family well known for easy fleshing ability, high milk production, and overall do ability.

We have admired the muscle pattern and development of this Powerball sonall year long. He’s red eyed, red necked, red nutted, and packed full of red meat! We thought so highly of him that he was our feature bull calf in our fall show string at Ag Ex where he placed second in his very competitive senior bull calf class. He was also selected as senior bull calf champion at the Manitoba Hereford Field Day last summer. His mother who we purchased in the WLB dispersal sale is a model cow with a beautiful udder.

A calving ease bull that puts it all together very nicely. Sired by Powerball and out of a gorgeous goggled cow, quality is bred into him generations deep. Born small at birth in the middle of February, Powerplay didn’t wait long to start gaining and catching up to his counterparts. His birthweight and weaning weight represent the ability to have a calving ease sire breed for performance traits.

A calf known for the big red spot on his forehead when born has become even more well known for the impressive herd bull he’s become in months past. Super deep, thick, and balanced are words that come to mind when analyzing this bull. He is smooth through his front end yet rugged in his bone structure displaying the thickest hair coat among his counterparts. He stems from a great cow family that is known for eye appeal, pigment, milk, and maternal capabilities.
