PGA Heifer Lottery
In celebration of the 11th Anniversary of the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Sale, the partners started a heifer lottery in 2010. Individuals that have made purchases in the previous three fall sales will be entered into a lottery. The number of purchases made by an individual will determine the number of entries they will have in the lottery. The winning individual will be awarded $500 to be used towards a purchase of a female in this year’s sale. The lottery will run annually from this point onwards.
This Year’s Winner is Davidson Gelbvieh.

This bull calf is leading the pack in my pen of herd sire prospects. His growth is complimented by his generous rib shape, a dominant trait his mother delivers to all her offspring. His maternal half-brother, AJBG Mackdon, possesses the same dimension and volume. This herd sire prospect also has the benefit of being from a very productive and consistent line of genetics, JRI Enhancer has been the strong foundation of my Gelbvieh herd. The power of Intrigue is also a virtue with his amazing ability to produce outstanding females. While my numbers are very small, I have been very diligent in my selection and ensuring that quality remains very high. A great opportunity to purchase a herd sire prospect with little guess work a proven dam and proven sire. Consistent quality will be Bold Man’s dominant trait.

Yellow Rose will definitely have a lot of friends on sale day; sired by DVE Tex 106W, the high seller of the 2009 bull sale and out of the hard working FLAD Teardrop 4T. If you look at our herd, many of our top producing females trace back to the 23L and 71N cow families, so maternal is a definite feature for 13Y. One thing we stress a lot in our cows is udders. Teardrop may have one of the best with excellent teat placement and teat size. Her maternal sister, FLAD Fine Wine 89W, was the 2010 Gelbvieh First Lady Champion and will be shown at Agribition 2011 with calf at side.
