Welcome to our 2012 Bull Sale. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our 2012 Bull Sale offering. The cattle industry is finally at a stage where we can enjoy the results of our investment in the industry. Prices for all sectors of the beef industry have been impressive. We are extremely proud of our 2012 offering. Our herdsires have shown there strength in their abilities from calving ease, performance, muscling and superior maternal strengths. We have bred, fed, calved out and slaughtered many cattle throughout our program. Each of the breeds that we have on offer have all raised progeny in every part of our operation. We have strived for cattle that are functional and that are in demand from the cow calf operator to the sale barn and to the feedlot and in the end, the consumer. With that in mind we believe we have bulls on offer that will lend a great deal of support to your operation. From a crossbreeding for terminal sired cattle or breeding for calving ease or wanting to raise females for the replacement market, we have a large selection of young sires to fit. If you need to discuss which sires will fit your plan, we can explain to you how their lineage has performed for us. The future looks extremely positive going forward. With the demand for beef a stronger outlook for prices and markets, we are in a great position to be a part of a historic future. If you would like to discuss anything about the bulls or the offering please feel free to talk to us or any of the sales staff. - Rob Garner From the desk at T Bar….. Why purchase bulls from Nordal? SELECTION – the eighty-five bulls which are offered have selected and developed from one of the largest cow herd bases in central Saskatchewan. Two breeds which complement each other, crossing; each offering a different piece to the commercial puzzle. Whether you are looking for power bulls to put some extra punch into your calves at weaning or the ease of calving, this large offering will fill your requirements in yearling, two year olds amongst the Red and Black Angus or the Limousin. NEW DIVERSE GENETICS – the large cow herd base makes selection of new herd sires each year crucial and Rob Garner has been and continues to be a forward thinker. Adding new current genetics in both breeds is commonplace in many cases despite the cost aspect. (Just ask his in house banker!) At Nordal, buyers have an opportunity of acquiring sons of new cutting edge genetics with top of the line yield and marbling values. A SENSIBLE COMMERCIAL APPROACH – in addition to the large purebred base, Nordal runs a large commercial cow herd. This herd is run east of Highway 2, in the marginal flatlands which are made up of native and tame grasses, sandy lands and alkali sloughs. The cow herd must thrive and survive in what ever conditions Mother Nature supplies. Most importantly, Rob Garner knows the type of animal it takes to show profit, because he finishes the calves he produces. HARD WORK- if these bulls they offer work as long as hard as the people that produce them, you can be assured you will get a bigger “bang for your buck!” Plan to be with us for the “Nordal Event” offering “real bulls” for the livestock industry. If I may be of any assistance prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to give me a call. See you at Nordal! Chris

His progeny are born small and vigorous and explode with an abundance of growth once on the ground. Unfortunately we lost the bull with a breeding injury before we could gather semen for future use. We like his progeny’s development in both the male and female.

In Memory Of Dave McNally... In 2011 Cindy and I were met with the passing of our fathers.Bob Garner in January and Dave McNally in July. Both were astute cattlemen that shared their passion for good cattle and a good B.S. session with everyone. These two cattlemen shared their knowledge and wisdom with their families plus all others interested in the cattle industry. We honoured Bob Garner in our 2011 Sale Catalogue. With the passing of Dave the Limousin industry lost a true pioneer. Not only as a member of the family but as an influence on our program, from an early stage,Dave held a close interest on the happenings in our herd. Dave had worked at every female and bull sale we held. In 2011 he was unable to make the sale but continued to phone buyers and promote the sale. Dave was instrumental in the early days of the exotic boom getting Limousin into the Canada and U.S. His farm L.V. Ranches was one of the early breeders of breed leading Fullblood cattle and one of the first to breed Polled and Black Purebreds. Breed leaders as Limac Eldorado, Limac Polled Northern, Limac Black Mercedes were dominant in the breed. Dave was recognized with many awards over the years with his involvement in the breed as a breeder and as a marketer with his consulting business Canadian Cattle Consultants. In 2009at the 40th Anniversary of Limousin in Canada, the Canadian Limousin Association recognized Dave as one of the families with the longest involvement in the breed. His knowledge of the cattle industry and the breed is still influenced from the work and breeding of quality cattle still found in many pedigrees yet today.

Dave McNally

June 29, 1940 – July 23, 2011

We are proud and honoured to carry on the traditions and legacy that Bob and Dave have established in the Limousin breed and the cattle industry.

Highlights... In the past year we have acquired new genetics to add to our herd. Before they made their way to the farm they spent a little time in town and here is how they did.
