From the desk at T Bar... Welcome to M & J Farms Annual Bull on February 19, 2020, Russell, Manitoba. The sale is held on the farm just moments south of Russell on the Yellowhead Highway. For over four generations, five if you count the kids, the Glasman family has been supplying high quality bulls for the livestock industry throughout Canada, the United States and even Mexico. Initially, the bulls were Angus then the new generation added Simmental. In 2018 the Glasman Family were presented the A.O. Henuset Distinguished Breeder Award for their efforts in establishing the Simmental breed in Manitoba. The M & J Farms sale is one of the few sales where all bulls selling are two-year-olds. They are grass run in big pastures to grow, develop and maintain soundness, a factor that is major for anyone breeding cattle. These coming two year olds can cover more cows, bigger cows and not shrink by the end of breeding season. Whether you are looking for Angus, Red or Black Simmental or Simm/Angus, the M & J selection will fit your breeding needs. The 2020 edition has a powerful group of bulls, rugged, deep bodied, with plenty of hair and testicle. Each year it is a challenge to add new sires that add new genetics to their large cow herd. They strive to attain the needs of their many repeat and new customers by suppling value added bulls that will yield that extra pay weight at weaning, in addition to providing high maternal values from the heifers that become replacements. It is with great pride that we offer our Donation Beltie lot, Big Bill 2.0. Dad planted the seed that if we were to offer this belted bull that we could donate a percentage of the sale proceeds as a charitable donation! We liked this idea a lot and that, as well as his unique belt of course, is why he is a bit of a sale feature this year. He is sired by our walking herdbull, Merit Bond 6007, and you will have noticed some of his half brothers in the sale. Big Bill 2.0’s dam is a purebred belted Galloway cow that Leanne purchased. The donation will be made to a recognized charity of the buyer’s choice.

Terms & Conditions... Terms The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. Payment Options Payment in full sale day will be the norm. If special arrangements are needed please discuss with Miles Glasman (M&J Farms) and/or Matthew Glasman (Glasman Farms) prior to the sale. Insurance Will be available on sale day from Keystone Livestock Services. All bulls staying at M&J Farms/Glasman Farms must be insured. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value. Delivery Bulls will be kept until March 1, 2020 free of charge. After this date a $3/day yardage fee will be payable. All bulls will be delivered by April 30th free of charge unless special arrangements have been made at M&J Farms/Glasman Farms convenience. Every effort will be made to get your bull to your farm, however some long distances may dictate delivery to a central point. Breeder’s Guarantee All bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale. The bulls sold are sold with a breeder’s guarantee. If problems arise please notify M&J Farms/Glasman Farms immediately so the replacement or credit towards another bull can be dealt with in a timely fashion, At no time will M&J Farms/Glasman Farms be responsible for more than the purchase price.

Exception Guarantee In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.
