Welcome to the Lords of the North Bull Sale Again this year we have a strong set of Simmental and Red Angus bulls. The Simmental bulls are thick made, good haired with lots of shape and are structurally sound. These bulls are the kind that will produce females that will work as top cows and there sons will go in to the feedlots and make feed efficient money making carcasses. The Red Angus bulls are bred for calving, structurally sound, fertile, and easy doing cattle. Elmer again has a strong set of two year old bulls, and these good bulls are hard to find. If you are looking for bulls that will make strong mother cows or for the much sought after feedlot cattle you can find them here today. If I can be of any assistance please feel free to give me a ring.

Welcome to our Seventh Annual “Lords of the North” Bull Sale. Once again, we would like to thank EKW Red Angus for joining us in the sale. Most of our red factor bulls are off AI sires, with exception of our fine walking bull, Green Spruce Unforgetable 11U. This year our overall bulls are moderate framed, with good hair coats and testicle development. Performance bulls combined with calving ease. Structurally sound bulls with good temperaments.

Elmer K.Weibe

Welcome to the 2013 Lords of the North Bull and Select Female Sale.

2013 holds much promise for western Canadian agriculture and the cattle industry in particular. In 2012, we saw record sale prices for feeder calves, fed cattle and many purebred seedstock cattle as well. All this with awesome grain and oil seed pricing at the same time. It’s humbling to me to be part of this industry where our Creator has given us so much. God is good! Thank you, everyone who has purchased EKW genetics in 2012. Your support and confidence in our cattle is appreciated and I recognize that without your future success, I cannot continue. I look forward to sourcing and supplying the best genetics for the needs of today’s cattlemen. Thank you also, Green Spruce Simmentals for the opportunity to again market my bulls alongside your excellent program. This is an exciting year for me, as I’m offering “Golden Deed” along with several sons as a huge feature. His daughters will carry on his genetics in this program. He can pack a lot of muscle in a structurally correct package and his progeny, both male and female, are very consistently good. Also, this year is an outstanding herdsire prospect in Beartooth 22Z for a balance of calving ease, performance, soundness and maternal excellence. He is joined by AI sired sons of exciting sires like Blaze V415, Alliance 22U and Net Worth 23U. The two year old bulls will stand up to most any you’ll find in 2013. Our bulls are working breeding stock and are presented in working clothes. They present excellent value for your bull buying dollar. The idea is simple: Breed them to be the best they can be, feed them to last and sell them reasonable. If I can be of any assistance in getting you more information on any bull, helping you find the right bull or touring the bulls or cows, just pick up the phone and give me a ring. I really enjoy discussing cattle and programs. My number is 306-381-3691. I hope to see you March 16, 2013 at SLS! Regards, Elmer Wiebe

Dam of Lot 23

One of the best bulls ever to come from EKW. Beartooth started small but from day one was a stocky calf, with a meaty top and a “GREAT BULL” head. He’s bred for a balance of calving ease, growth, muscle, structural correctness and excellent milking ability. His dam is an exciting Dynofire cow with perfect udder and teat structure. Beartooth 22Z will become the next home bred herd sire here but I also wanted to share his exciting future. SELLING ½ INTEREST AND ½ POSSESSION. I’m willing to work with the new owner as to how his work load is shared.

Deed 10U Golden Deed joins an impressive list of brother the likes of “Very Interesting,” “Mastermind,” “Integrity,” “Winchester,” “Lucky,” “Earl Of Renfrew.” Just totally impressive. His sisters are just as special. Ask anybody who has Indeed cows if they work! His dam was a powerfully thick, yet moderate Norseman King daughter who met an untimely death when Golden Deed was a calf. Her dam was the 2005 Angus Pride high selling cow and was just a great member of the famous Goldie cow family, making him related to breed greats such as “Fully Loaded” and “Red Knight 640F.” Deep pedigreed bull! Golden Deed saw double duty for three years, as he was leased for a March-April calving schedule to HHH Red Angus and RJ Mitchell. The idea was to accurately assess his breeding value. I’m very pleased to report he has worked well every season. The proof of a bull’s quality is through his progeny. I’ve never used a bull who sired a more consistently good set of calves, year in and year out, than Golden Deed. Muscle, structural soundness, early growth and an attractive pattern. His daughters are entering the herd now and have excellent mothering instincts. Due to the fact I only used two breeding pastures for the cows; my use is somewhat limited on Golden Deed, as I want to continue his genetics through his daughters. Opportunity to own a proven herd sire of this distinction is rare. Call with any questions regarding him or his progeny.

Two Year Olds... These bulls are a great option for breeding more cows per bull or in a community pasture situation. I always say that our two year olds are as good as our yearlings. You be the judge but I think you’ll like these bulls. Bulls designed to improve your bottom line.
