The Total Program Hello and welcome to the 16th annual Sale of the Year! Wow!!! What a year in the cattle business, record setting prices from coast to coast to coast across North America. The good times are here once again. We want to thank each and every one of you folks, our much valued and always appreciated customers big or small. We need you all to continue producing the high quality Angus seedstock you’ve come to expect from us at Justamere. Our 20th Bull Sale this spring was a record setter for us, of course the $140,000 Justamere Full Throttle was a huge part of our almost $10,000.00 average; however our good hard working commercial customers set their sights high and bought the good cross section of bulls on offer. We know this was a similar experience all spring at our many good Angus friends and customers bull sales across the lands. The time spent and dollars invested in this business are all worth it in these great times in our industry.

The cattle we have on offer in this year’s sale are the culmination of time, energy and effort, not to forget money invested in the genetics to produce this awesome set of females. Denver 2013 Champion, Sankey’s Justified, is making a huge impact in Canada and he certainly has here at Justamere as well.

We have two excellent herd sire prospects sired by him, as well as several high quality show heifers, and one outstanding bred yearling. Our 2012 National Champion, EXAR Fortify has also been a great investment for us, with several daughters in the sale, as elite show heifer prospects and bred yearlings. Our partnership with Express Ranches continues to be a great experience for both of us. After Express purchased half of Justamere Tiffany 203Y, she became part of their ET program. We are excited to be offering two full siblings sired by PVF Insight out of Tiffany this year in our sale. One is a tremendous female prospect, the other is an incredible bull, that I feel is about to make a huge impact on our program and the breed. We also have a first in Mohnen South Dakota progeny, a very stout, very correct daughter that sells in the show heifer offering, and a performance plus herd sire prospect as well. The bred yearlings are truly a work of art, anyone of them is guaranteed to be a great addition to your program. The very special female EXAR Blackcap 4085 is one we hope is appreciated as much by you folks as she is by us. This female is right in every way, phenotype, EPD, performance, and her unique pedigree is sure to excite.

The Justified and Fortify bred yearlings are a phenomenal set, as well as we have outcross genetics in our Justamere Bellagio females, and of course solid breed leading genetics in EXAR Upshot and Denver Reserve Champion, Panama Jack. I would be remiss if I forgot to mention the lot 16 Enchantress female sired by EXAR Classen 1422, a very special young female indeed. Our cow/calf pairs are a young group of exemplary females that are always hard to part with; however, my grandfather Jonathan and father Lyal always said, “To expect the best, you have to be willing to offer your best” and that is exactly what we intend to do each and every Sale of the Year! The two donor females will make a huge impact on this breed in any program. The semen and embryo lots are rare and valuable, and offer you the chance to be a part of the next generation of Justamere genetics. Our club calf offering is limited in numbers but high on quality.

Justamere has always been a family run operation, both Shelly and I are extremely blessed and proud of our children Jon, Tyra, Jim Bob, and Jorja. They have committed their time and effort and take pride in being part of this farm; not only the cattle and show side, but the everyday work and effort it takes to accomplish this, year in and out. We thank them for this. Jon has taken the leading role in the development of this sale offering and along with Grayden Kay and Bryce Patterson, has done a great job and we appreciate their efforts. Rosemary Currie, Hugh Ross and Drayce Robertson helped with the preparation and picturing of the cattle, we also wanted to thank them for their help.

Our guest consignors Running Steady Ranch, Dean and Tanya Robertson and Family are fast assembling a great set of Angus cattle and have on offer a great cross section of their program bred to two very exciting herd sires in EXAR Outcross, a Baldrige Waylon son and Justamere Cash In, a tremendous son of EXAR Classen, a bull we will be showing this fall. Rocky Top Cattle, Kam, Misty and Grayden Kay are offering a wonderful two year old female with an excellent heifer calf at side. As this powerful young herd sire name implies, he is definitely Big Time potential for any program. The reports from all over Canada and the US on the many times Champion, Sankeys Justified 101 progeny is very good. He is really putting his stamp of good looking, powerfully constructed, fault free cattle into all of his calves, both female and males. This calf’s show ring potential in my mind is off the charts. He has that special ability to grab your attention from any angle. Super, almost freaky fronted but yet very powerful over his top and hip, with an excellent hair coat and a great scrotal developing at this early time in his life. His PVF Insight dam is an amazing young three year old female. Beautiful uddered and very correct on her feet and legs. This dude is going to turn a lot of heads this fall and well into the future. We are excited about his show career, definitely but also his breeding legacy he will develop over the next few years.

We used Mohnen South Dakota by AI and out of nine doses used we have five bull calves and two heifers and all of them are darn good. This big stout rascal’s mother never misses, having one in the top end of the crop every year. Examine his pedigree and find some of the cornerstone sires of this breed. Here is a beautiful designed show heifer with that extra power to make a solid production female in the future. Justamere Rosebud 834T is mother to our Denver Winter Calf Champion, Justamere Big Gun, who now resides in Utah at the Morgan Ranch. This February heifer is definitely in a class of her own.

The last single lot show heifer in our offering but what an incredible female she is. She is not only beautiful fronted, big bellied and super fancy but oh so correct, deep ribbed, big topped and is made for the show ring.

Her sire is the incredible EXAR Classen 1422, a son of the immortal Dameron First Class, but also grandson of the Two Million Dollar producing Greens Princess 1012, a female who has her own record book in the Angus history. Another special note in the August 2015 Express Big Event sale 1012’s clone sold for $105,000.00 for half interest, signaling very exciting things to continue from this great cow family. This female’s own mother hails from the Shane Michelson program, the producer of champions and high sellers throughout the country. Enchantress 1164X produced our second high selling bred heifer last year at $14,000.00 to Running Steady Ranch. This heifer is destined for greatness in our minds.

Time sure does fly by. Our daughter Tyra owns part of this female and with her interest in pursuing veterinary medicine after grade 12, she thought it was time to let one of her favorite females go.

It would take three pages to write a proper history of the Winnie cow family as without a doubt, they are one of the dominant show female families of the breed. That combined with the BC 7022 Raven 7965 sire it puts this female in elite status among show families.
