Welcome to Justamere’s 23rd Annual Angus Sale of The Year. It’s been another challenging year in this area, but we are thankful for a little better harvest than last year with a good feed supply heading into the winter. First off we are very proud of this years offering, we feel it is one of our best sets to date. Very complete and well balanced. Some outstanding herdsire prospects and very competitive show heifer candidates to fit across all spectrums. The bred females and cow calf pairs are very solid, well balanced and carrying excellent genetic profiles to help move our programs forward.
The cattle business in general is in a positive swing upwards with very solid calf prices, exceptional yearling prices and exceptional bulls. This helps offset the inflation factor. However as cattle producers we have to be even more efficient and forward thinking to remain competitive in this ever changing world.
Now is definitely the time to restock and build up our cow herds as we move into what is sure to be a strong cattle cycle for the foreseeable future.
Just last week McDonalds has quietly done away with their plant based burgers. Consumers are not at all excited about grasshoppers and bugs for their choice of protein. The stage is set for the common sense, sustainable agriculture industry to come roaring back with beef as the protein of choice for the world. The Angus business is very strong and still the unequalled choice for ranchers and consumers alike.
This offering is unique in the fact that at Justamere we have always made our own way, dared to be different and stuck to our principles. From the exciting Lot #1 Justamere Expression 511K an absolute tank of a young bull that will be a big part of our future. His male counterparts Lot #2 and #3 are very well bred and will also be exciting to watch develop. We have three excellent daughters of the #1 sire in the breed Sitz Barricade 632F. Two are in the show heifer section of the sale and we feel strongly about their inevitable future as elite donor females after their show careers. The third Barricade daughter is on our feature cow/calf pair EXAR Winnie 6518. This female is in our minds one of the best we have ever offered for sale. The bred heifer section are the most exciting as they are the fastest genetics we have ready to calve and start growing your future. Sired by many great herd sires and AI sires alike out of the heart of our herd. The service sires EXAR Dry Valley and EXAR Wooden are two of the most complete bulls we have ever used with outstanding genetic make ups and above average epd profiles. You would be hard pressed to find these breed leading out cross genetics in abundance any where in Canada but at Justamere.
