Hello and welcome to our Justamere 20th Annual Angus Sale Of The Year.

The Sale Of The Year series of sales was started by my grandfather, Jonathan and father, Lyal in the 1960’s with their Polled Hereford cattle. I asked dad how many SOTY sales did he think Justamere/our family has had. His fairly quick response was, it would be close to 50. That is very humbling and an honor to be a part of, for myself and my family, we thank you, our many good friends and customers from around North America and the rest of the world for being a part of the Justamere dream. The purebred cattle business is one of the last free enterprise business models in this very fast paced modern world. It’s a great feeling to be a part of it for many generations.

Our sale offering this year continues our tradition of exciting herdsire prospects from proven cow families sired by AI sire PVF Inauguration and our next generation herdsires, Sankeys Watchman and EXAR Next Level. Fresh exciting Jon, Shelly, Tyra, Jon, Jim & Jorja genetics with solid EPD data and the important ability to show and compete anywhere in the Angus show world. Our show heifer prospects are absolutely amazing. We have been very successful campaigning our show cattle all over North America and we feel strongly that these beauties will help us continue our winning tradition. The Lot 14 bred female by Skyfall out of many times champion EXAR Penny is definitely a feature in this sale and would be in many other sales across the land. The solid group of bred yearling heifers by herdsires like Justamere Washington, Panamajack, South Dakota, M.A.G.A, Sankeys Justified and EXAR Inspiration, are as powerful and complete as we can make them be and they are backed by very solid above average EPD and performance data.

Many are carrying AI service to Musgrave Stunner, Deer Valley Growth Fund, Sankeys Watchman and EXAR Next Level and were pasture exposed to Justamere Overdrive, an explosive Freys Opportunity son from the mother of Justamere M.A.G.A, EXAR Barbara 1075, also EXAR Cowboy Up 7288, a fascinating HA Cowboy Up son with a great set of numbers and a very solid structure and calving ease built right in.

Our cow/calf pair selection feature very hard to part with cows, with exceptional heifer calves at side. All AI bred to calve in January to the next generation herdsires like KR Pacesetter, PVF The Natural and EXAR Next Level. The Lot 37 choice pair is very difficult to decide on the wonderful OSU Empress female or her powerful Monumental heifer calf.

We also have on offer genetics direct from our current embryo program.

The donor female, EXAR Dixie Erica 5276, is a past feature sired by the champion maker, EXAR Blue Chip embryos sired by Silveras Style and PVF The Natural, these will be very exciting progeny indeed.

Our son Jon has on offer three beautiful club calf heifer prospects sired by Dakota Gold and I Believe.

The day to day operations are managed by our sons, Jon and Jim, who are both doing a tremendous job taking on a lot of responsibility daily. Their crew consists of Shane Conrad, Jordan Phillips and also our daughters, Jorja and Tyra when they can help. From baling hay to washing show cattle and everything in between, it takes commitment and hard work and Shelly and I appreciate the next generation’s effort. Finally, Shelly is our steadfast beacon, taking care of all the many little and big things that make a family farm run. We are fortunate to have you and thank you for all you do. Our friends Chris and Charlene Carr and family, Jess, Larissa and Colby, help out a lot throughout the year and we appreciate you. This business is the best business in the world to be in. It’s not the easiest or for the faint of heart but the miles I have travelled, the people I have met and done business with from all walks of life, are truly rewarding and I thank you all personally for allowing me to do what I’m good at.

We could not be prouder of this herdsire prospect, sired by Sankeys Watchman 7020, who has given us and our partners an excellent first calf crop but as they say, the good ones die young. We lost Watchman after breeding season to a bull fight.

Emperor’s mother, Empress 138X, is a stellar producer for us.

The $104,000 Justamere Sudden Look 117D is a son. The very successful show heifers, Empress 316E and the Heifer Calf Champion last year at the Royal, Empress 563F, both past SOTY highlights at $25,000 and $54,000, respectively.

Terms and Conditions Cattle Inspections: All carry permanent identity tags, corresponding to Sale Lot numbers. All cattle shall be available for inspection prior to sale.

All Cattle Are Sold: Subject to such tests as required for export under regulations of the Health of Animals Branch, Department of Agriculture for Canada - those corresponding to Bureau of Animal Industry requirements.

Breeding Guarantee: All cattle are sound and right, and all with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction.

In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply.

Pregnancy: Examinations shall have been conducted prior to sale on all serviced females.

Holding and Shipments: Approximately one week is required for export transfers and other documents to be processed.

Export animals will be held at no charge and under excellent care. Joint export shipping arrangements to attain minimum shipping cost will gladly be made by the sale management if instructions to that effect are provided to clerk of the sale when settlement is made.

Mail Bids: May be entrusted in complete confidence to any of the Sale Staff listed or to Justamere Farms Ltd. Insurance: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s hammer falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from the appointed representatives on sale day, also from the sale management at any time.

Announcements: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

Terms of Sale: Are cash or cheque at par, payable to Clerks of the sale on Sale Day. U.S. Funds will be accepted at the current rate of exchange. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from export shipment for whom payments have not been recieved prior to departure times.
