Welcome to the First Annual J Square S Online Bull Sale It is a great honor to invite you to our First Annual Online Bull

Sale. I am very excited to present this offering of our 2019 yearling bull calf crop. I would also like to thank all of our past customers for the purchases and confidence in our program.

As many know, for the past few years we have been marketing our bulls by private treaty. This format has worked well for us. In saying that, I wanted to make it better for our customers. I feel that the online sale format will do just that. There will be no sale order, making every bull available for sale as long as the sale is open.

You as the buyer can bid on any of the bulls for the duration of the sale, even when it is closing. No bulls have been sold prior to the sale and you the customer will determine the dollar value of each bull.

I want to make sure that you feel comfortable bidding online. If for some reason you require assistance, please feel free to contact myself or any of the DLMS crew list to aid in making your purchases.

As you browse the catalog you will notice that we have selected a handful of bulls to sell by private treaty. These bulls have been raised and developed the same as our online offering. They will be offered for sale, following our online sale on March 26, 2020.

Each year we try to add a new sire group so that our repeat customers have options for their breeding programs. Whether it is an AI sire or Natural service, a lot of thought and research goes into these breeding decisions. The FF Black Gold C19 sire group has done an excellent job here. He adds an extra element of calving ease without giving up performance and soundness. This fall we once again exhibited cattle at various shows and the Black Gold cattle were very well received.

Farm is on the West side of the road.

Just like in the past we will offer free delivery or will aid in the delivery of you bulls purchased. We would like to have the bulls to you by May 1, 2020 but can discuss options if they need to stay longer.

How To Bid

1. Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca , click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account. It allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions.

This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots, or someone challenges your proxy bid. This is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number.

If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions, simply enter your username and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

Select the J SQUARE S ONLINE BULL SALE. 2. You can choose your favourite lots in the sale at this time. The program will allow you to open either all sale lots, or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list, you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you. But if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again, or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale, the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 6 PM will extend the sale by 5 minutes, from the time of that bid.

When no bidding occurs for 5 minutes, the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Within 24 hours of the sale close, the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/pick up of your lot.

We feel that this is a true herd bull in the making. From birth until present day it is tough to find a hole in this bull. He is long yet extremely stout and commands your attention. He is square made, very well haired and is showing excellent testicular development. I really admire his extension and how smooth he comes out his front shoulder. His sire, FF Black Gold has done a great job in his first year of breeding here. His sons are very consistent,and his daughters will headline our female sale this fall. 82C is proving to be an outstanding cow in her early years of production. She is a larger cow but brings in one of the biggest calves every year. The Georgina cow family has a long record of consistency.

Also take note of his balanced EPD’s. 989G was part of our fall show string placing third in class at CWA and also making the top 10 at the Saskatchewan Angus Sweepstakes. We feel the future is bright for this herd bull in the making.

A good solid bull who is a ¾ brother to the Lot 1 Bull. The Black Gold X Justified combination is proving to be very successful. 900G goes back to our first donor cow here, Brookmore Enchantress 229S, who is also the mother of J Square S Fireman 14Y, a bull who walked the pastures of Hamilton Farms. Moderate in his make upand smooth made, I truly believe that he could work on a set of heifers.

A really solid herd bull in the making that exhibits a little more frame and bone than his other brothers. He is square made and like the previous lot, very proud fronted. We have been extremely pleased with the LUTE X 301Y mating. We have 3 full sisters to this bull and they are making excellent cows. If you are looking for a well-mannered bull to cover cows, I feel this bull will fit that bill and raise you a great set of calves.

This is bull is the result of an in-dam purchase from Wayne Stetson, Vermillion AB. I have always admired his herd and was excited to obtain this bull’s mother last year.He is a performance calf sired by Musgrave Stunner. You have to admire this bull’s thickness and depth of body.
