Welcome to the Annual Jewels and Diamonds Simmental Female Sale on November 16 at the Calnash Trucking Ag Events Centre, Ponoka, Alberta. Your hosts are a dedicated group of breeders who supply ranchers in central Alberta with quality sires each spring. Since their operations are not large enough to sustain their own stand-alone event, they come together and host this production sale; offering you a cross-section of their programs. The 2018 consignments are exciting and offer many “windows of opportunity” for adding fresh, new genetics into your program. Fleckvieh, fullblood, domestic red and black…this lineup is designed to appeal and suit all types of breeding plans. The bred females with early services are diverse in genetic make-up and come from top cow families. The 2018 models are fancy yet broody and as you go through this offering, one will be able to find a gem that will suit your feature pasture or make a foundation brood matron. As a bonus, several embryos are offered for the breeder who needs some tax savings and doesn’t care for winter feeding. Now that our political storm has calmed, the cattle market has been strong and steady. Simmental influenced calves continue to be features at many of the pre-sorts throughout the country. If you visit any auction barn, you will see that there is no substitute for quality. At this time of year, preg checking and culling should be on your mind…in addition to tax planning. Simmeron Ranch Simmeron Ranch is returning to the Jewels & Diamonds Sale after initially participating in the first sale in 2014. I have been raising cattle all my life and I’m passionate about building a herd based on breeding for longevity and performance. I AI my herd with carefully chosen, German genetics to be able to offer some different genetics to other cattle producers. (Commercial breeders love my bulls.) It is important to the cattle industry to support small herd breeders who are working diligently to diversify genetics and improve the Simmental breed, with the ultimate goal of maintaining a small scale business. Without support, small breeders will slowly disappear, which, in my opinion, would be a tragic loss for the entire cattle industry. Due to budget restraints, my heifers have remained in the corral all summer and were fed hay bales in the feeders, just as they are all winter. Even with no pasture grass, their performance has been very good. Simmeron Ranch is pleased to showcase a selection of the quality Simmental heifers we raise and look forward to meeting you on November 16, 2018 in Ponoka. Due to all the snow and rain and the fact that I have no facilities to prepare my nine bred heifers for the sale catalogue I am unable to submit pictures. Purebred with Fleckvieh influence. The unique markings of this heifer are sure to be an eye catcher. The docility of this heifer is unreal and is a trait that her cow family is famous for around home. Lousana is off a first calf heifer who has a picture perfect udder and has done a phenomenal job on this calf. The sheer thickness, depth and amount of hip is balanced nicely with a feminine look to create an attractive package. This January born, heifer’s pedigree is packed full of many of the greats such as Gunner, Anchor D Narcissus, Rival and Double Bar D Joceline. Purebred with Fleckvieh influence. This heifer hails from the heart of my program, coming from my founding cow family. We unfortunately lost her grand dam, PCC 101X, my first purebred I purchased, this past spring so here is the opportunity to own a special piece of my herd. 86F has been a standout since birth with her traditional markings and sheer power and thickness. Where to start, when I seen BMS Uma 45C I knew I wanted her to make the trip to Alberta. I took a chance on her and she was flushed to Romano in 2017. It paid off, with one of our top bull calves being produce. She is a moderate framed cow with a well attached udder. It also helps that her dam is none other than the great MFI Petra 2093 cow, making Uma maternal siblings to MFI “Juggernaut”(Double Bar D Farms), MFI Gladiator (KOPP Farms and now at MC RUER Simmentals) and MFI Money Talker. Longevity runs in this cow family with her dam still producing at 16 years old, her grand dam (MFI Zaila 8Z) and great grand dam (MFL Petra 95P) also produced well into their teens. Terms

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneerâ€™s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Certificate of Registration

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Health

All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

Guarantee

Each animal becomes the purchaserâ€™s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Simmental Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

Pregnancy Information

All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

Liabilities

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co.(2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Delivery

Assistance will be given in getting your purchases home. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
