Welcome to the Hollinger Land & Cattle Bull & Female Sale Welcome to our 6th Annual Bull and Female Sale. I’d like to begin by

sending out a sincere thank you to all of our past customers, bidders, friends and family that have helped make this event a huge success the passed 5 years. As this year marks our 6th sale, we couldn’t be more pleased with the progression our program has seen. The cow herd has grown, and with that the quality has become deeper. We are excited for you to come evaluate this years sale offering as they too, are deep in quality. We have a stout group of bulls that will suit your needs of calving ease bulls as well as big rugged performance bulls. The select group of heifers that we have assembled are straight from our replacement pen with many being out of foundation cows that have helped build our herd to where it is today.

In addition this year we are excited to offer, an exclusive frozen genetic opportunity that will be a great asset to any herd. We are pleased to offer limited semen packages on who was, without a doubt, one of 2017’s most talked about show bulls, HLC Crossfire 569c. He is a bull that we feel exhibits a great mix of calving ease and curve bending performance.

He was the 2017 Toronto Royal Reserve Champion Angus Bull and Senior Champion Bull at the Manitoba Ag Ex. We at HLC, along with our partners at Mainstream Genetics are pleased to offer you this opportunity to acquire some frozen genetics by this great herd Bull. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce the newest up coming herd sire at HLC. We , along with our partner, Roger Reynolds of CSI Angus acquired the outstanding sale feature Lot 193 in the 2018 Schaffs sale, SAV Senator 7153. We are extremely excited to add this bull to our program as he offers a unique out cross pedigree coupled with an impressive EPD profile and performance data second to none.

Welcome to the 6th Annual Hollinger Land and Cattle Co. Angus Bull and Female Sale. This sale is always a highlight in the livestock industry located in Eastcentral Saskatchewan.

The Hollinger Family maintain a large farming operation along with a very strong cow herd. Their breeding program is based on customer needs… since they make their livelihood solely out of agriculture, they breed and raise the kind of stock that will thrive and excel both on the range and in the feedlot. Iron Saddle Ranch is owned and operated by Richard & Barb Krupski with sons Dustin & Dylan and his wife Mikaela. The ranch is located in the Qu’Appelle Valley 8 miles North of the #1 highway at Sintaluta. We calve out 330 commercial cows that are a Hereford/Angus base. We have been using Hollinger Land & Cattle bulls for many years with great results.

We are offering 2 pens of 3 replacement heifers with genetics from our top end females. These heifers were vaccinated in the spring and fall with Bovishield Gold & Ultrabac 7 with Somubac and Ivomec in November/17 and February/18. They are backgrounded on an oats/barley sileage and a backgrounder pellet.

LD Stock Farms

LD Stock Farms is loacted two miles west and two miles south of Neudorf. It is a family run operation consisting of 450-500 Simmental/Angus based females. We currently breed using red and black Angus as well as red and black Simmental.

The heifers that we are consigning are out of our spring calving program and are born in April and May. Our cattle are on a full herd health program; they are vaccinated in the spring and fall with BOVI-SHIELD GOLD ONE SHOT, TASVAX 8 and also treated with Ivomec in the fall. These heifers have been developed on 30 pounds of oats/ barley silage, 4 pounds of rolled barley and free choice hay.

We would like thank Hollinger Land and Cattle for letting us be a part of their 6th Annual Bull & Female Sale. Maurer Farms is a family run operation located 2 miles east of Lemberg; we operate a mixed farm consisting of grain, goats, and calve out 100 head of cows which are Angus/Simmental females. These January – March born heifers were vaccinated with Fermicon 7/Somnugen and Pyramid FP5 in spring and again at weaning time and were also treated with Ivomec pour on in the fall. Since weaning, these heifers have been developed on free choice grass hay and alfalfa silage bales with 5 pounds of feeder pellets.
