Welcome

Each year we try to stack the sale line up with cattle and genetics that are designed to win and work, so we can continue to call this sale “Source for Success” Last year’s offering has certainly reinforced the name of the sale with numerous wins at major events all across the land. WLL Wish changed ownership here two months before winning The Royal Winter Fair for new owner, River Valley. This past July the Robinson family was delighted when the Wild Thang heifer they bought last year was slapped Bonanza Champion. Add in 3 more class winners and a reserve division at the US Junior National in Indiana, 6 class winners, 3 division champions and 3 reserve divisions at the Canadian Junior Bonanza Show in Quebec, plus numerous accomplishments at shows, sales and pastures in between and you have a pretty impressive list of achievement’s from last years crop. And I’ll guarantee you they’re better this year! Wait till you see the first crop of Flints especially if you like’m correct, balanced and damn pretty. United bred females will simply blow you away just as they have their competition, and yes, we do have bulls like Twitter ($1000 Supreme winner) and Way Cool that can and will change the landscape of the breed. We’ll be selling more cows than ever before, two year olds that are donor prospects and five year olds engraved with productivity and pedigree. Our consignors continue to raise the bar of quality and tap into their show strings to sell their best. Collectively they offer a number of high end heifer calves, some that will have tasted victory before sale day I’m sure. Golden Oak in AB along with partner AXA of NB enter the sale this year as do the enthusiastic junior supporters at Homestead Herefords and you can count on the same quality from these well known outfits. I would personally like to thank the kids of summer for exhibiting Elmlodge genetics at the highest level and keep watching your mailbox for your Junior Incentive Reward if you qualify. Laurel, Andre, Garrett, Levi, Kyle, Patrick, Josh, Owen and Katie you did us proud. Plan to be with us on the 18th or before to discuss this year’s offering. We’ll welcome any inquiries and hope to have video footage on many lots to help with your selections. Feel free to give us a call, we love to talk cows, it’s all we know! Billy

Each year we like to start the sale with a special lot and since birth this bull has been just that. A highly anticipated mating out of two of the breeds highest valued individuals in 2007, Twitter did not disappoint. He carries that herd bull presence, class and arrogance that separates him from his peers. Along with his style he offers extra performance, length and muscle to complete the package. Study his paperwork and note he’ll cross nicely on a number of different pedigree lines. Typical of the highly sought after Travellers, he is pigmented, dark and hairy while his awesome dam gives him quicker maturity and more shape. A Champion on numerous occasions early this year he recently won an all breed $1000 Supreme Championship to prove he is an elite herd sire. Twitter is being used at Elmlodge and we would like to continue to use him. Selling 1/2 interest and 1/2 possession.

Last year we featured 2 April calves on choice that were very popular, that have since caused some serious excitement with one of them being slapped Bonanza Champion this past July. This pair of April 2010 are of the same quality and project the same potential for glory. Both are by Next Big Thing and both are out of past sale favorites that are now owned with the Moroz family of Hastings. Cut from the same cloth, they are sharp fronted, square made, balanced and well documented. Both dams are power cows with udder quality and stay ability. Dad is just tickled to have the 2 year old Keynote female still on the farm, while the 45S cow is a favorite out of the 2005 Royal Champion we named after our home town of Peterborough. Dad must still get his way around here because I wouldn’t be selling this summer yearling. Matter of fact I had her in the show barn until she got crowded out. This is my kind of structure, shoulder angle, neck, joint and foot. She’s beautiful on profile, lots wide enough from behind and great skulled. She is out of the same cow family as Loveletter, has wicked Epds and an exciting service. Trust me on this one. Bred to CRR About Time on June 15.

The first and only United 2 year old we’ve calved and a real good reason we are so high on the United progeny. She is an easy doing, nice uddered, wide based female that has done everything right to date. Mom doesn’t often get too attached to anything four legged, but sure likes this one and when you see the first calf she is raising you’ll know why. Bred to Golden Oak Maxium on May 24.

As much as I love showing cattle and winning, I have no idea why we decided to sell this one. This is the reason we bought Flint, to produce drop dead gorgeous females that can compete at the highest level and yet still make productive cows, just like his full sister and Denver Champion Flirtatious has done. You’ll not find one with anymore eye appeal and show ring presence than this gal has. Sleek fronted with pigment on a beautiful head she reaches for miles out of her front end; then comes full out of her fore rib into a big barrel and ends square from behind. On the ground she accurately fills her step with width and flex. Just wait until you see her for yourself or call to see how she is progressing. For those who would like to be part of the action as a partner, you can bet I’ll be receptive so let’s talk .

Without a doubt our best calf out of our 2 year old. Her sire Paycheck Lad 46T was champion bull at several MOE shows and climaxed his career being named Reserve Senior Champion Bull at the North American in Louisville, KY. 46T now works in the herd of Millstone Valley Farms, Ohio. This heifer is full of meat and square as a box car. Her mother is milking her heart out. This heifer could stand a lot of competition.

Xinger is a very feminine heifer calf sired by MHPH Spur, a bull who has given us an excellent group of calves in 2010 and a beautiful uddered Paycheck dam. She comes with a set of well balanced EPD numbers and should be an asset for her new owner.

Catalina is out of the great Catalina 139C cow who got it all started. The Maxi daughters have just awesome udders, a big reason why Ned and Jan Ward purchased Golden Oak Maxium 28M at 8 years old. Catalina was Reserve National calf champion and also raised a Class winner at last year’s junior national. This is a very exciting mating and power in the pedigree is awesome.

Here is a rare opportunity to buy a heifer calf out of the great Nellie cow. She is the dam of Golden Oak Fusion who sired the Reserve Denver Champion Golden Oak Outcross, for Hoffman. Fusion is now a herd bull for Fred Larson in Wisconsin . She is also the dam of herd bull Predator for Murphy Ridge & Kirton. Last year’s bull calf is now running pastures for Blair’s AG. You get the picture she never misses. This heifer will be a great show heifer and a better cow. Don’t miss this opportunity to add a foundation female. Owned with AXA Polled Herefords
