As we face the future after going through our 5th year of tough drought, we came to the realization that, as our cowherd was shrinking to match our farms’ carrying capacity, so it would be in the nation. We dug deep and sent some pretty good steers to town! It has left us with a smaller offering but a very high quality offering. They are anchored by Mambo 7H sons and highlighted by the first sons of our new Black R/C herdsire Dracarys 60G. We believe that these particular bulls “Up the Average” on efficiency, hardiness and maternal instincts based on less than ideal production limitations handed to them by nature. We roll with it. We accept that our weaning weights can’t be the same on 4 inches of rain as on 15 inches. By choosing to not creep feed and add expense when conditions are tough, it gives you the ability to evaluate what these genetics can accomplish in hard times. Be assured they will out perform drought when the rains come! The bulls are excellent this year and each one is bred to have the ability to sire excellent, structurally sound, productive females. Some will work well on heifers and some are more growth oriented bulls to work on cows. Remember, a Red Angus based cowherd can be crossed with any breed for an “Ideal Cross”! We do our best to bring stability, quality and added value to your bull buying. The quality of the bulls here begets his price, therefore the best value in most situations comes from buying the best bulls you can afford. Terms $1,500 Deposit per bull when you select your new bull or bulls. Balance due when delivered or picked up. OR PAYMENT IN FULL when selecting your new bull or bulls.
Boarding All bulls can be boarded free until May 31, 2022. All bulls can be boarded beyond May 31, 2022 for a $200 charge, (per bull) which will include regular delivery. Delivery or Pick Up 1. All bulls sold in Saskatchewan, delivered free of charge. All bull purchases totaling $5000 or more will be delivered free of charge in Alberta or Manitoba as well. Bulls to be delivered by May 31, 2022. 2. Bulls may stay longer than May 31, 2022; a $200 charge will be added to these bulls which will include delivery. Bull Guarantee EKW Red Angus guarantees to sell you a bull in good health that has the ability to settle cows, is sound on his feet and will pass a semen test. Bulls will be semen tested in April prior to delivery. In case of breeding incapability, we will replace the bull with a bull of equal value. In no event does this guarantee exceed the purchase price of the bull. We take full responsibility for the bulls until the bulls are in your care, i.e.; they are loaded on your trailer or arrive at your farm. This guarantee does not cover mismanagement, injury or death after he is in his new owner’s care. However, should an accident happen, we will do our best to get your cows bred with one of our EKW Red Angus Bulls. Should you have a problem please call me first. I will rectify the problem.
Pedigree Estimates Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such. The Bulls Ration All bulls were fed together since weaning. Developed on green feed oat bales and corn based energy ration at 1% of body weight as well as approx 5 lb hay daily for 90 days from Dec. 1- End of Feb. This year they were on OLS tub minerals. They have had a very safe ration for health and longevity with 2/3 of their dry matter being in forage form. The forage quality was excellent in 2021. Calving Ease Score We evaluate each prospective herd bull for calving ease, determined by bone size, BW, CE, EPD and profile. * Cow Bull Only. ** Cow Bull. Expect assistance if used on heifers. *** Heifer and Cow Bull. A few assists expected on heifers.

We feel very blessed to walk this Angus herdsire who is a black/red carrier. Not only is this bull genetically different but he is genetically loaded with quality.
